  This is a game for Berserk fans, if you're after a more filled out hack and slash game there are better options out there. I enjoyed myself playing this title but I'm an old Berserk fan. Like similar games in the genre it can get boring once you beat the story and try out the other modes just slashing apart humans & monsters repeatedly, the different play styles of characters and the various objectives do make it more interesting, and it is a great title like others in the genre to play while watching or listening to something on the side. Pros: Currently has the most accurate respresentation of the manga in animated form, shows many characters not yet seen or fleshed out in the anime/movies and the story is mostly well done. Combat is smooth and objectives don't have you running around aimlessly. Movesets across playable characters are accurate in my opinion but can be frustrating to play as certain characters sometimes (but they can't all be beasts in battle lIke Guts & Zodd). Cons: Objectives can be odd sometimes, base commanders on levels where it doesn't seem necessary to have them for example. Bosses can be annoying to fight due to their cheap moves and large size, they can trap you in a corner or block the camera, spam attacks you can't escape from causing your death. Few characters playable, I would have liked to play as other characters from the series and I was confused why some characters were even made playable in the first place. Also key story moments were altered due to censorship issues that non fans of the series will be greatly confused by, again censorship also had key story moments entirely omitted from this release due to how graphic they are (while I do understand it would be nice to have had them in as some kind of option or dlc). Summary: Truthfully this game may not be as interesting to people who are fans of other hack and slash games but aren't fans of the Berserk manga & even fans may get annoyed at the censorship, story omissions or lack of their favourite characters being playable. I do think the harsh reviews for the game aren't needed, it still holds it's own and it is great fun hacking away hordes of monsters with the dragonslayer. I do feel the game could have done with more content and not covering so many arcs in one game title as at times it did feel rushed as you go through the story. All in all I do recommend people to watch gameplay or give the game a try but not to buy the game at full price unless you are like me and are a sucker for the fact it is part of the Berserk universe.

  Fist of all you'll definitely started getting bored after the first hour or two it's a musou game after all the only reason you would want to play this is if you're a berserk fan or just a fan of musou game in general the only reason i played it is cuz i'm always starving for berserk content and this satisfies me a little and finally the only good things about this game are you get to actually see berserk animated goodly, playing as guts and others is fun(for some time) and that's literally it and also don't play this if you wanna know about berserk just read the manga or watch the 1997 anime we need a fromsoft berserk game for the love of god

  If you're a big fan of the Berserk series, whether it be the manga, anime or the movies, and/or you want to live out your "Badass with big sword" fantasy, you need to play this game. First of all i want to say i am a huge Berserk fan so i will have some bias here. I've played the entirety of the Souls series as well as many Monster Hunter titles so i am very familiar with over the shoulder action adventure/fighting games, and ill also use those as references. [b] Combat: 8.5 [/b] If youve ever played a "Warriors" game (Hyrule Warriors, Dynasty Warriors) then the combat here wont be anything new. Its the exact same style combat as any Warrior game before it. You have a light and heavy attack that you can chain together in different ways to beautifully massacre enemies in a brutal fashion. However after a certain point the game stops adding mechanics and combos, so its starts to get a little repetitive, however remaining insanely fun and satisfying to unleash those combos and watch your combo and kill counter soar. Combat animations are also stunning. You unlock more characters as you progress through the main scenario or "story" of the game, which you can then use to go back and replay everything using your preferred character. The game also offers an "Endless Eclipse" mode, which acts as a horde mode that progressively gets more and more difficult, completion of the Endless Eclipse with different characters will yield you different rewards that you can then use in game, like more characters and cosmetics! All these characters have different movesets and playstyles that change drastically from character to character. You're also able to equip your characters with accessories that will increase various different stats and skills, even further changing/tuning the character to fit into the exact playstyle you want. You can focus your characters stats on only heavy attacks, or spamming fast lights, or being able to constantly be in Rage Form, or spamming secondary skills like the Repeater Crossbow, Cannon Arm and Throwing knives, stunning enemies more, launching them in the air more. The build possibilities are huge in number. [b] Story: 9 [/b] It's Berserk. "Minor" cuts happen (pun intended) including the Lost Children Arc and The Bakiraka fight. Both are not hugely important to the overall plot, however if youre a fan of the original work it is noticeable and a little disappointing for those who's favorite arc is the Lost Children (me). But its sill Berserk, amazing story line and lore. Fantastic characters and character design. Truly an iconic story, and one worth experiencing if you haven't yet. The game uses scenes cut straight from the movie trilogy and parts of the 2016 anime as well as in game rendered cut scenes to drive the story/plot in between fight sequences, and are almost entirely voice acted, however it is in Japanese and is fully subtitled, the voice acting sounds phenomenal. [b] Re-play ability: 7 [/b] There's lots to do in this game, however once you do it, its kinda done. Yes theres always the Endless Eclipse mode and the ability to replay the story with new characters and cosmetics, but once you've done that once or twice, theres really not going to be much more for you to discover and no new mechanics to unlock sadly. That doesn't mean you wont be enjoying the combat enough just to run through Endless Eclipse every now and then just to crack some demon skulls with your massive sword, because you definitely will. Just know that when you do, there isnt really anything new from the first time you did it, except maybe what you decide to equip on your characters. [b] Overall: 8 [/b] Story is gripping, emotional and amazingly executed. Combat is fluid, satisfying and flashy all while staying simple. Think low skill floor, high skill ceiling. Easy to get into, takes time to master. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is a Berserk fan, as well as anyone who enjoys dark fantasy settings with emotionally gripping story. I also recommend this game to anyone who wants to feel like a big bad ass while carving through huge hordes of demons and mercenaries alike.
