  Seems like ADOBE will keep releasing Substance software on steam as perpetual licenses for now, very nice indeed. For now this is just pretty much same software as Painter 2021, however I was really happy with features they added during this year, so easy purchase for me.

  I mean, that's Painter, you can texture the hell out of anything with it. So glad that despite subscription model being go to these days there's still and option to pay once and forever. Oh, but the new logo and acidic green colors are stranger - jesus, wtf? The old logo and color scheme were so rad, this new ones scares the willies out of me every time.

  I've used Substance for two years now for my studies, I'm absolutely in love with the software and I really hope Adobe doesn't mess it up. Got it now to start freelancing. I'd recommend getting it here, that way you avoid the monthly subscription fees Adobe likes to force on us all. I wish more software suites did something like this.

  I'm gobsmacked. I've used Blender's texture painting tools for about a year; gotten reasonably decent with them. But this. This is a whole other level. Going from Blender's texture painting tools to Substance Painter is like going from MS Paint 1.0 to whatever the newest Photoshop is. At its absolute most basic; its like if Krita and Blenders default tools had a dirty night of body painting and had a baby, but there is so so SOOO much more here than that. Its got layers its got masks, its got every kind of brush you can think of, its got a goddamned eraser that works with the eraser on my pen display's stylus - and alpha textures can be applied to it. The thing can paint PBR TEXTURES DIRECTLY ONTO THE MESH. YOU CAN MAKE NEW NORMAL DETAIL WITHOUT SCULPTING AND BAKING A NEW MAP WHAT I'm a one man band game dev, and this is going to save me so sooo much time. Thank you Adobe for listening and making a perpetual license available for this software. Now... get your buns in gear and support NDOF mice PLEASE

  This is a castrated version of substance painter. Missing features such as "send to", as well as basic function of having several projects/windows open simultaneously. Missing the Substance Launcher and the link to Substance Source that once existed, but no more. Steer clear of this abomination if you can. Edit: Why yes, Steam, I would like to revise my review. At 110 hours in, this is even more cringe than initially estimated. I've gotten more blue screens of death and random crashes in this version than I did in the prior 4 years of using this software. No, this is not a hardware issue. No, this is not a driver issue. It does not happen in Marmoset, Unreal, Houdini, Blender or Maya. In fact, I have never seen a blue screen of death on this PC before installing specifically Steam/Adobe version of SP. Losing hours of work to these crashes is becoming tiresome. Very unfortunate that refund is no longer an option. Edit2: Also, both new interface and icons are shit, naturally.

  Better than paying a monthly subscription to Adobe :)
