  Finally! I've been waiting for a good snowboarding game since Amped on original XBox and this is even better. I always dreamed of a snowboard game with controls like 'Skate' and this is it. I haven't played much yet, but the controls are so good it definitely feels like a game you could chill out and free ride for hours and have fun.

  this game is exactly what was needed. are there bugs? yes are there weird sounds sometimes? yes does my character fly in the air randomly sometimes? yes is this a small indie team who prob works incredibly hard? absolutely if you want "realistic" snowboarding this is the game for you

  this game is a dream! 11/10 -i played all snowboard titles of the last 20years and this gem is the best. -controls are nearly the same than in "the snowboard game", but a little easier and even more intuitive. -riding/ doing tricks is smooove and deep snow powder feels and sounds insanely realistic. -the music and different weather conditions are super relaxing, sometimes cinematical atmospheric beauty. -graphics are shiny, great performance on 4k ultra settings. -this is a triple A game for just 30bucks

  The first snowboarding game I ever played was Amped back in 2001 on the original Xbox and I've been chasing that high ever since. Shredders is the best snowboarding game ever and I've only played an hour and begun to learn the mechanics. The fluidity, atmosphere, and most importantly the physics all work so much better than any other snowboarding title I've ever played and it isn't even a competition. I recently was looking to run Amped on my PC somehow because of how desperately lacking other titles have been over the years. Titles such as: Shaun White Snowboarding, a variety of SSX titles, SNOW, Steep, Riders Republic, and others I've forgotten. All of which I have poured many hours into just to try and get my snowboarding game fix but Shredders is the one. Even stomping something simple like a 360 FS Melon feels amazing. Not because the game is too difficult but because the physics and world-building feel grounded in reality. FoamPunch absolutely slayed it and I'm looking forward to seeing the game progress. Some things I would like to see added: - Different times of day (dawn, dusk, night) edit: there is 1 night mission, but it would be cool to just be able to set the time of day in freeroam -- EDIT: You can set time of day via drone using LB+DPad, but it only works sometimes and dusk/dawn are underwhelming. No "golden hour". - A lot more camera settings (FPV, angle of camera, FOV slider) - Ability to hop off board to run up hill etc -- EDIT: The drone works just fine for this - More sound settings to individually adjust dialogue and sound effects - Weather/Precipitation would be cool - Competitions and Events. The campaign and missions are pretty weird in their current state. Too many are spent following CPUs - Headlamp for night riding and a darker night (optional?) Improvements to be made: - Scoring system is kinda whack. It's pretty much spin to win. FS 360 is 1600 points and a Double backflip is 2000 points. Point degradation for repeating tricks in succession would be cool too - Collisions with some buildings isn't great, the bridge by the power station/dam is entirely 'fake' - The map feels a touch barren. I enjoy the realism, but even still it feels like it could use a little more to liven it up and make areas feel different. - More colour in places would be nice for a little bit of atmosphere. The entire screen is almost entirely white. - Riding across paved/roads ice should have way less traction

  STORY: A snowboarders dream game. The story is laughably bad, but because it doesn't take itself seriously at all, and even pokes fun at being a small studio with limited resources, it literally made me like the story a lot cause it wasn't trying to be super serious, it's just about throwing massive tricks and have dumb conversations with friends which is was snowboarding is all about. GAMEPLAY: In terms of gameplay, I absolutely love how the game controls, although I say that with a warning. If you do not snowboard in real life, this game will be difficult to pickup at first. Turning is not instantaneous like a STEEP or SSX or Riders Republic, you have to balance and use your edges to carve properly to line yourself up for jumps and rails, which they teach you about in the tutorial. It's not impossible to learn if you don't actually ride, if you are a solid gamer you'll get a handle on it after an hour or so, but just wanted to put that warning out there that if you do not snowboard in real life, the game is going to take some getting use to. However, missing a rail allows you to use arguably the best feature in the game, "re-shred." This might be my favorite feature in the entire game and I am shocked no one has ever come up with this before because it is basically a must have now for me and is executed almost flawlessly. Say you miss a rail or jump, or just eat it on a jump. Instead of going back to a session marker or redoing your whole run up to that point like most other games, you just hold down the re-shred button (x on xbox controller) and it drops you back to right before that jump or rail with all of your speed and momentum back. No more having to get speed again or anything, just ride forward with all your speed and attempt your trick again. The best part is that using the reshred feature does not affect replays. Meaning if you re-shred a few times in a line and go into the replay editor, it only has your completed attempt in the replay, meaning you can make some absolutely incredible lines and clips without having to get it all perfectly in 1 go. Insane innovation right here. CORK AND RODEO RANT: My one gripe with the controls is that rodeos and corks seem so inconsistent to pull off. Sometimes I can pull them off multiple times in a row with no issue and then other times I can't do a cork to save my life. I'll watch myself do the motions on the controller perfectly and my character will flip SUPER slow, not even close to cork speed, and cause me to eat it landing upside down even though I flicked up or down fast and right as I took off from the jump and released the jump button. It just doesn't make sense and if a dev would like to comment I'd love to know if maybe I'm doing something wrong or if there is an issue with the game where these are super inconsistent to pull off for whatever reason. GRAPHICS: The graphics are great! Are they horizon forbidden west level....NO, definitely not, not even close. But honestly they did a beautiful job with the landscape and it doesn't look like an old game by any means, so no complaints from me and I honestly love the style of it so I have no issues with it. FEATURES: The game has a decent bit of customization you unlock through playing and a lot of the stuff is licensed products which is super cool to see so I'm stoked that you can put together possibly some of your own gear to make the character look like yourself. I'm hoping they add more products as time goes on cause they would definitely benefit from adding more and more products as the game gains traction. DISCLAIMER ON LAG/BAD FPS: Sometimes the game will drop frames below 60 for me (graphics card for me is not super powerful so that's most likely the issue, GTX 1650. The game is also not capped at 60, that's what I capped mine at) and a super easy way to combat that issue from what I have found is just turn off multiplayer in the menu and it fixes instantly. Smooth and crisp 60 fps riding. Sucks that I have to do this cause you lose the ai riders but I'll take that any day for some smooth 60 fps. ADDITIONALLY, changing the graphics to high for my pc crashes the game so I have to just leave them on medium for some reason, definitely an issue for the DEVS to look into but I haven't heard any reports from other players of this happening so definitely could just be me. SUMMARY: A must have game for any snowboarder and I hope these DEVS continue to work at improving it and adding more gear cause I can see myself playing this game every offseason of snowboarding. It really was released at the perfect time, right at the end of the season.

  I have seen reviews on youtube saying Shedders doesn't compare to games like Steep or Riders Republic and it's true; Shredders dunks on those arcade and lifeless feeling games. After a few more hours in the game, the only thing the developers could do to improve the game would be to include some character progression. It's great not having it, it means you don't have to grind to be able to pass a mission, but being able to do it all from the first moment feels a bit easy
