  This game has a lot of promise and still sits in my early access folder. It has a lot cool mechanics and for what content we do have its ok. The game is basically abandoned but the Developer did leave a note in Jun on the current state of things. I hope it is able to be finished . As a curiosity and that it is 5 dollars. For all the whiners it is 5 dollars!

  I am 70 minutes in and still have not completed the first level. It's LONG. There are plenty of secrets, plenty of environments, and loads of enemies to gib. I would appreciate more blood splatter and some more interesting enemy AI, maybe some new kinds of projectile attacks. I would also have greatly appreciated ANY kind of unlimited ammo pickup during the first boss fight as I didn't figure out the gimmick until I was out of rockets and shotgun ammo, which made for a very long, very boring fight. Even just one shotgun pickup that regenerates. Please. The secrets are interesting and tend to contain their own combat arenas and the there are lots of ambush enemy spawns. Think Doom 2/Serious Sam/Painkiller kind of spawns. It's mean. However, there is just loads of health and armor lying around so I think the difficulty advertised is kind of overblown. Maybe the later episodes will reduce the pickups. The guns are pretty standard; none of the special abilities can be used until you've killed enough enemies to charge your special mode which I think is a misstep. The shotgun is a great time though; it's alt fire is to launch your barrel mags as grenades. Enemy AI is pretty simple and could use some work, but they're in sufficient numbers that it's not too noticeable. The levels are HUGE, and a lot of fun to navigate. The mobility is insane and a lot of fun. 3 dashes, a double jump, a slide, a slide jump, and a grapple hook give you lots of options. Maybe too many options. All things considered this game is 100% worth the price full price no question about it. If you want some fast-paced FPS action pick it up.

  High Mobility, Great ridiculously huge level design, tons of verticality and powerful weapons! Just a great game, and for how much it costs, they're basically giving it away! Just do yourself a favour and grab this game!

  Play gunfire reborn, immortal redneck, project warlock, or just DOOM. All of those games are well worth the time and money.

  I can't fully recommend S.C.A.R. yet as it is, so take that ""positive"" review carefully. It's still very barebone and barely enjoyable. Right now it's like a sluggish mix of Doom and Serious Sam. Hordes of enemies (they look terrible btw) are hardly sastisfying to slay, mainly because of questionable sound and animation design. Everything from the gunshots sound effect to the blood bursts textures makes combat deadly boring. The grappling hook is a cool idea but it's totally janky. It's a shame because S.C.A.R. relies on verticality and reaching upper levels is a chore. Levels aren't particularly interesting to roam. Big arena-like rooms and small corridors are lined-up in a predictable way. And i wonder if it's gonna change after the E.A. However there's only the first world for now, and i really expect the 4 remaining ones to be considerably better. On the bright side, optimization seems to be ok. 5 bucks is nothing, but you'll might want to wait for big updates nonetheless. There's still considerable room for improvement. Keep an eye on it since it's a promising game and will hopefully change in a good way. (August 13th 2020)

  [h1]Nope, it does have potential but it's not quite there yet, wait few months or maybe never. Time will tell...[/h1] While the steam summer festival demo of S.C.A.R showed some promises i have to say this first early access build is really disappointing. There's way too many problems, optimization issues and bugs, like for some reasons why the fuck i can't rebind the mouse right click button ? The graphics are bad, it looks blurry and washed out, it literally made me feel dizzy while playing, it also runs like shit, terrible performances (went below 50fps during the boss fights). The level design doesnt make any sense to me... The ennemies spawns out of nowhere for no reasons, they have terrible pathfinding and tend to get stuck in geometry, bonus some are bound to levels scripts. So if an ennemiy get stuck somewhere and you have to kill it to open a door or trigger a script then yea your basically fucked. The weapons doesn't feel satisfying to use and they are lacking punch. Sometimes i died for no apparent reasons in one shot. Don't get me wrong S.C.A.R is not completely garbage, there's some good things in it. Like the movement system, it's quite nice with the grappling hook, slide and dash abilities. Sadly as stated above it doesn't matter if your fps game offer a great movement system if the level design/weapons/ennemies are shit. Anyway good luck for the devs because it need a lot of work !
