  "Metro vr" The game has potential. and I hope continue to update it frequently. In story mode there is only one chapter. But the raid mode is fine, but I've only seen one enemy model.

  The shortest way to describe this game is as the bastard child of Tarkov, Metro and Stalker, that grew up and wanted to be a rogue like. But describing it like that does it such a disservice that I almost hesitate to put it first in the review where people will see it and then skim from there. This game takes the finest mechanics of a dozen different games, some VR, some not, and combines them into one gloriously smooth package that even half done now, is one of the most addictive VR games I've played. The backpack mechanics of Saints and Sinners, with none of the janky physics and the ability to suspend the backpack in the world to use both hands to interact. The gunplay and weapon cleaning of Into the Radius. The light and watch system from Metro. The loot extraction and reputation based progression of Tarkov. And then it takes all that and cuts it into bite sized proc gen raid dungeons that are in the perfect sweet spot of terrifying, satisfying, just long enough to feel dangerous and involved, and just short enough to fall into the "One more run," mindset of the likes of Until you Fall. You load up, spend 30 minutes crawling and fighting through the dark claustrophobic tunnels, and just when the stress is getting too much, you're home and safe and prepping for the next raid. On top of that, this game has the most satisfying virtual stock I've ever used in a game. It doesn't just snap to your shoulder, but to your headset, raising and lowering the weapon subtly to maintain eye alignment. Every rifle shot feels smooth and seamless, and it simulates proper cheekweld better than any VR game I've played, and I've played quite a lot. The story is basic and barebones for now, existing as a prototype first chapter and a teaser for the story, but it's fully voice acted (In Russian) and has potential to be a fun Metro-esque romp in VR. But don't be fooled by the high bar there, the meat of this game is well and truly in the Raids. A love letter to the entire genre of Russian post apocalypse shooters, with mechanics that I can only hope become standardized across the VR industry. And it's only half done. If you like VR OR shooters, don't miss this one.

  Please please please don't abandon this game. This is one of the best recent VR experiences I had, I don't even care that the story is so short at the moment. Fucking amazin!

  I truly like the idea of a VR game heavily inspired by the Metro 2033. In fact, I don't intend to give this game a bad review. Surprisingly, the game is actually really fun. And it seems that the game is actually fairly fleshed out. However, I think you would be better off saving your money for another game for now (especially considering that I cannot refund the game) as there are some problems to gameplay that do not seem to sit right with me. Pros: - Satisfying leveling up system - Great guns - Resource management Cons - Cheap jump scares - Invariability of enemies - Only one level for story mode (almost like a mere demo) - Unnecessarily scary (again, you don't need cheap jump scares to make a game scary) - Indecisive grabbing of items I am rooting for this game, and I hope to change my review into a yes one day.   Ok, I'll keep it short and to the point. Great things: 1) VR works smoothly in terms of holstering/getting your gun/reloading, backpack mechanics, healing syringe is neat. One can tell this is a VR game from the ground up. Shooting works well but so far I just killed some big fat mutant and a shrimp type monstrosity. 2) Graphics and atmosphere are amazing. The graphics look very good - corpses look creepy, textures are good and when I got to the metro with all the rusted pipes and doors lining the dark tunnel I thought to myself this is peak immersion in VR. The faint red lights in the distance, the dark and forlorn environment being very spooky while the sound effects are very realistic with metal clanging sounds and some eerie background screaming. Reminds me of being in a creaking Uboat at times (yes I like sub games). 3) I like into the radius and played all stalker games and I can say this is more metro so far but also I like it better than into the radius for sure because while that is a great game the otherwordly black ghosts that you kill in that game are something unrelatable to me and this game has actual humans and mutants like metro/stalker so fits me way better since while this is also scifi it is much more relatable. Also great russian voice acting going on and there is a somber tone to the proceedings that is very congruous with the overall atmosphere. Story has a good hook and I love seeing the desperate relationship that the protagonist finds himself in with his dad because the dad is sick as well as other dynamics happening with a female family member where she insists in coming after you. Don't need shakespeare tier fanciness in my story and this premise will do nicely as it develops further. 4) flamethrower - got the flamethrower after about an hour and I love the flame effects whether burning spider webs that block your path or barbecuing the baddies. Again, weapon looks amazing. 5) After the story you can do raids. These are essentially procedurally generated metro levels where you can use stealth or kill monsters while searching for treasure left by dead stalkers as well as the exit to the level. Really cool, especially the homebase where the old man sells you stuff - the weapons and items behind the display case is a very cool touch with schematics for weapons once again really filling out and making that cold war 1970s atmosphere so cool. I've played many VR games and this game really nails the look of the weapons down with all the weathering and detail. Anyway so far there are 4 tiers of weapons to work up to to in raids but you need to earn money as well as procure special items needed to attain the next tier/level allowing you to buy more weapons/attachments. Right now it is not done but please support if you want to encourage this solo developer to keep going. Basically you will enjoy this if you want a creepy, dark, claustrophobic environment to explore like the metro games but you understand there is only a few hours of story content as of now. A few jump scares but that doesn't seem to be a focus (hello you damn rat in locker). Performance was on par with another game I am playing now (surv1v3) but this looks much better on my G2 headset. In fact overall this game can become my favorite game in VR (except nothing will top DCS) if he can pull it all together for us. Good luck with the development bro!

  The positive reviews show how desperate we are for content in VR. As an avid into the radius fan I had to give this a go. Unfortunately 10 minutes into the single player campaign it just ended. Sorry, but for 20 bucks I expect a hell of alot more, even for beta. There is one enemy type which looks silly, that definitely needs to be refined. And the procedurally generated mode has no replayability whatsoever. Just walk around in the dark getting lost occasionally shooting the one enemy the game has. This game isn't beta it is alpha at best. It is a tech demo, with some potential but if you buy this you are basically donating to this developers "go fund me" page. Hopefully he actually delivers. If he does I will be back with my money. To charge for this what into the radius is selling for right now is a slap in the face of all the incredible labor CM Games put into their product. Takes big balls to charge 20 bucks for this, but I hope the developer will see this through and not just cash grab on the back of Into the radius' popularity. Only time will tell but this is one horse I am not willing to back.

  All in all its good, obviously its still in development but i think its a good start. However..... 1. Dying while on a raid is far too punishing. Losing all you upgrades is pretty steep. I know you can buy insurance however when starting out 1K is a lot to pay. And if you die you have to play several more raids (where you gain Rep) to regain your loses and the raids become more challenging while your progress has been reset and no longer commensurate with the challenge and from what i can tell there is no system (other than resetting everything) that allows the player to catch up or play a easier raid until they have regained their loses. I would recommend that if a player dies during a raid they lose all their loot and ammo and their health is dropped to critical upon return to the safe area, but get to keep all those very expensive upgrades. 2. Game needs to be balanced more. It takes a lot of ammo to kill a enemy and the cost of ammo is pretty high when you cant really make more than a couple thousand per raid. I would recommend making enemies less bullet sponge OR lower the cost of ammo and increase backpack storage size. 3. I would add a difficulty setting to raids, Let the player decide how much challenge they want. Lower risk/ challenge= lower rewards higher risk/ challenge= higher rewards.
