  The perfect startup simulator, you must try it if you want to launch a business with your friends, top difficulty is highly recommended. So, what do we have here? For a company of four the role distribution works this way: - Our startup (train). We must keep it running, ok? That's why we are here. - Chief of Business Development. Brings clients and investments (wood). Extinguishes the fires sometimes. - Chief of Staff. Brings in cool guys (stone). Extinguishes the fires sometimes. - Chief of Operations. Combines money and staff to build new product features (rails) and release them. Extinguishes the fires sometimes. - CEO. Coordinates the project. Technically: shouts into a mic that all the other guys are useless braindead imbeciles who cannot do even the simpliest things properly; blows up the teammates with dynamite and makes them totally unable to do anything; gives frustrating and mutually exclusive orders; sometimes just has fun with bandits and cows; spends all the money on useless wagons while the team is desperately trying to collect enough resources for upgrading a train. After 9+ years in VC-funded companies I feel really at home in this game.

  This game has local multiplayer! With enough controllers, and/or keyboards, you can play with up to four people on one computer. In the year of our lord 2021, who does that?! Besides that, the art is simple and appealing, the music goes way harder than it has any right to, and the gameplay is incredibly engaging. The AI can be really finicky if you play solo, but all things considered, this game is awesome!

  Some will argue you will need friends to enjoy this game, I will stand for the opposite opinion. For people with friends: You will enjoy screaming at each other as you run out of stone or wood. Even better you locked the pickaxe behind! Team coordination is really key in the game. And what upgrades do you pick? Get competitive or just casually build rails. For singleplayer: No friends? don't worry! There is matchmaking. In my first game I met up with a random guy and we got to 500+. Had to sleep but added him and I am pretty sure we will get to the 1k+. This all without voice chat, the in-game emotes were enough! Don't want to meet up with randoms? The bot is there for you. Although maybe not for everyone; if you have a quick mind you can use it pretty effectively. Certainly a fun brain exercise :) In short, this game is a bunch of fun. I got it for 6 euros during the sale. At that point, it's definitely worth the price. The full 20? Probably too but that's for you to decide. I certainly have my fun with the game!

  Very fun little game. Wish you could blacklist players though because people will intentionally come in and wreck your game, even if you kick them they can come back in. Besides that its great

  You sit there in your dark room pondering what just happened as your train slowly runs off the track and you're stuck behind a huge rock just able to watch and cry as your hours of progress get deleted instantly

  Unrailed is a simple, primarily multiplayer co-op mini-game. It is NOT an open world survival crafting game, it should not have that tag. In Unrailed you have a train that is slowly moving right towards the edge of the screen while you and up to 3 friends, mine rocks and chop down trees to both make way and build more tracks. In the "endless" game mode you start in the first, easiest world and work your way up to the final hardest world, getting upgrades for your train along the way. In "quick" mode you pick a world and play a 15 minute round. There is also versus, sandbox and time, but these modes feel like an afterthought and most players will stick to the first two. Unrailed is basically a party game. You boot it up with friends, play a few rounds or see how far you can get, laugh at the hi-jinks, and then move on to something else. Its not set up for a long campaign you return to multiple times or single player. So keep that in mind. While it does allow for saves and for you to pick up where you left off, its clear that is not really the intended way to play. It took my friends and I, a 2 to 3 hour run to beat the game, though we did that after several unsuccessful runs. If your goal is only to beat the game, and you don't look at a guide, expect to spend maybe 6 to 10 hours depending on whether you use checkpoints. That said, it is very fun for what it is. The simple mechanics are easily picked up by anyone but the challenges it throws at you late game can be difficult. I played all the way through with 3 friends who are all avid gamers and we struggled at times. But on lower difficulties you can still give the game a try with kids or people who don't game much. Lastly, I did enjoy the art style and the music. Seriously, the sound track is better than it has any right to be. Its all very polished and cute. In the end, I would recommend this game on sale. $20 is a bit much considering you and all your friends need to pay that, and its not really worth buying for solo play. But for $10 or less I think its well worth it.
