  pretty decent semi/rpg card battler which definitly focuses on telling a story and world building there's a lot of dialogue, even fully voiced cutscenes lots of lore and worldbuilding which kinda makes the game standout compared to more mechanical focused card battlers the art style is (as you can see in the screenshots) is pretty nice and so is the OST the VO is kinda hit'n miss, but works and the fact that is even there is commendable, also there's quite a lot of it i'm not realy the biggest card-game enthusiast so i cannot comment how the mechanics hold up compared to other games in an already crowded genre. but as far as i can tell there's quite something (already) here. you get a light equipment system, there's skill trees, currency and tools to engage the dungeons with (kinda like a narrow version of Gordian's Quest) and ever expanding options to fiddly around with your deck(s); you can perma lock cards mid battle, you get new card options quite regularly, cards interact with other card-affixes/suffixes all the time, etc. . combat is very well presented and i found engagements quite enjoyable, heck even critical attacks get some nice comic book animation. your character's all have their own little quirks and mechanics, their own special ressource generation, their very own toolkit and special attacks and since certain status effects and cds carry over after a fight the whole dungeon delving feels more connected and complex. the flow between the hub, the emphasis on story and optional side-story content, the turnbased dungeon exploration (a multitude of events included) and the actual combat is quite engaging I'd kinda compare the general pacing to something like Triangle Strategy, although there's more actual gameplay here. i have one major issue however: while most things and information are presented quite good, i cannot for the live of me see how much damage an enemy attack might actualy deal, which is kinda important looking at how you set up armor/def per turn....and usualy not how these games work. either i'm just to plain stupid or this information is missing, which definitly needs to change. all in all looking at the price tag i'd definitly recommend the game

  Its stand out rogue-lite (and i played all of them) with RPG elements that are put very well in generics, for early access game it has a lot of potential with huge talent tree a lot of cards and different type of items. Very good voice acting and cutscenes are something that we don't have in many card battlers but this game has it more that its needed for my taste (we just wanna play cards), story seems good so far.   The game is really interesting in terms of strategy, the fights are intriguing and the fact that it's random with each run makes it practically infinite, the story is very interesting too, I'm curious to know how it ends

  This game first caught my eye last year, since then, I had been quite looking forward to it. After several release date pushbacks, due to the devs wanting to deliver a more polished experience; I have to say the game does really lack polish at this moment in time. The art style is gorgeous, but this isn't matched by the card art, and some of the texts and buttons throughout the game look and feel really low quality. This might not be a big deal for some, but for me it just gives off an air of cheapness and makes the game feel like a bit of a chore to play. If you've played Slay the Spire or similar games, you'll be used to seeing the enemy/party buffs/debuffs above the unit, not here. Instead, you'll have to look to the corners of the screens for ambiguous icons to see what status affects are in play. Again, another minor gripe which makes the game feel cumbersome and unintuitive. I'll be keeping tabs on this game and it's development; but for now, it's a refund from me. I sincerely do hope to be purchasing this game again in the future after it gets a bit of a new coat of paint.

  I really like this game. It's different from other deckbuilders, in that Shattered Heaven is a lot more story focused. You still have deckbuilding, meta-progression, dungeon exploration, battles, and random events. But I think if you set your expectations to that of a story driven game - like The Witcher - you really start to appreciate the atmosphere this game tries to build, with its art, music, setting and characters. What I like: - The deck building aspect and finding cards is fun and you feel a sense of progression. - The card battles are fun, too. The card-play is deep but not complex. - There are character skill trees too, which let you personalize your characters and their builds. You can respec the skill trees for free, but not while in a dungeon. - The meta-progression and crafting are pretty cool! You can unlock permanent upgrades over time, and the way you make potions is pretty interesting. You mix 2 ingredients, and the resulting potion inherits its benefits from the ingredients you used. - While exploring dungeons, you can save and quit whenever you want, and then continue from there, later. That's great; The game respects your time. - The banter between the characters and their personalities can be very charming. - The art style and the music. - Andora's abs. :O What I don't mind but you might: - The battle animations can sometimes feel a bit basic, but I think it's the same as Darkest Dungeon. - The story is pretty morose and a bit long. If you're not in the mood for it, then you might skip it. Personally, I felt the overarching story was a little too dark, but the interpersonal stories are very endearing. I have no big complaints about the game, so I highly recommend it.

  It's hard to tell if the game is any good due to the endless inane dialogue you have to sit through. For 30 minutes of gameplay, at least 20 minutes is spent watching the characters auto-talk. Over and over. About 90% of the dialogue needs to be cut just to get the pacing somewhere in normal range...

  I've played 2 hours so far and it seems very promising. The characters moving during the "standard" talking session are a bit weird but overall the art style is very good, but the full fledged cutscenes are very good. This is a game where the animation during the battle are, thank goodness, fast and don't take ages to play, letting you focus directly on your next. A great touch. Critical hit animation and voices are very cool! Some description of dungeon effects are not entirely clear, like some object that you are prompted to obtain but there's no hint on what it does, i guess it will be address later. Overall, the price is definitively a plus for me. Note: I'm playing on Linux desktop and on a Steam Deck and it's working fine without any tweaks required. Will update the review later in the game.

  A nice rpg deckbuilder. Great art and music, the voice acting varies in quality but none of it is bad and it's pretty cool to have so much of it. I'm not far enough in the game to say if the story is good all the way through but it's good so far, there's some nice worldbuilding. It says it's a roguelike on the store page but it's isn't really. There are 4 big dungeons that you go do missions in (the layout of those missions is procedurally generated), gaining talent points, money and the likes to upgrade the three characters in your party. All three of them have their unique talent tree and mechanics and their own deck. You can also equip them with trinkets and potions. I've seen the devs mention an upcoming roguelike mode in the forums but for now it's just the story mode (supposedly 12-16 hours long). The only complaints I have about the game right now are the UI which isn't great (not horrible either but it could definitely be better), and I don't like that you can't see exactly what kind of attack an enemy will use and how much damage it will do, making it hard to really plan your turns. The game is pretty cheap too so it's definitely a recommend for me if you're into deckbuilders.
