  [h1]Reasons you might not like this game and fixes for it:[/h1] [b]1. You hate jump scares.[/b] Turn them off in settings. Some deaths will feel a bit anti-climatic, though. [b]2. You don't like horror in general.[/b] Play Detective mode. It's pretty intense, still. I quite like it. [b]3. You don't want an overly stressful experience.[/b] Pause the game as you need. You can even do what I've been doing while I learn the game and just hit your Print Screen button, paste it into something (I use Paint), and take your time reading the report/texts without stressing out. (Yeah, I know this isn't playing as intended, but it's enjoyable.) [b]4. You're forgetful, like me.[/b] Make a separate spreadsheet to keep your notes on cases. (Again, not as intended.) [b]5. You hate randomness ruining a game.[/b] Find a therapist that specializes in hypnotherapy to remove the memories of this happening from your memory. (Probably don't get this if you can't laugh off luck/timing ruining your run.) [h1]My thoughts[/h1] Honestly, I think I'm getting way more than my money's worth from this game. I think you should play it completely blind and just figure it out as you go. After you're fed up with not being able to figure something out, then maybe look up videos of people playing it, guides, etc. I think doing things like I listed above can really add a lot of hours to the gameplay and help you enjoy it more and tailor it to your playstyle/mood. [b]Pros:[/b] [b]+[/b] Sound design is very realistic. [b]+[/b] I often get that "One more try" feeling when I fail or get unlucky. [b]+[/b] Solving cases can feel so rewarding--especially when it doesn't go as you expect. [b]+[/b] The slow, nonchalant pace of your walking forces you to prioritize. [b]+[/b] I really enjoy the stressful gameplay loop and constant paranoia in the standard game. I haven't even beat Casual mode yet and I'm okay with that because I love the challenge of it. More hours of gameplay, right? [b]Cons:[/b] [b]-[/b] Some deaths seem to be entirely RNG. You just lose. There's no "Oh, I forgot to lock a window." lesson to be learned because you just got unlucky. Maybe this can be programmed out in the future but I doubt that will happen. [b]-[/b] The evidences can feel unfair. Sometimes I solve it, pick the most incriminating things, and it gives me a wrong result and I have no idea why. Likely something I considered using was arbitrarily "better" than something I submitted. [b]-[/b] At least one sound (I think there's a handful of them.) is irrelevant and is basically just a jump scare. This is really frustrating because you'll go up and check the house because you heard a knock on the window, realize you got tricked, and next time it's just annoying. (You'll notice these more when you play Detective mode.) [b]-[/b] The Tanner camera jump scare is just that. It's just an annoying jump scare. It's the reason I turn off jump scares even though I don't mind the other ones in general. I actually quite love a few of them and prefer them to a screen just saying "You became a statistic." All in all, I think my complaints of the game are mostly nitpicks. You might think "What kind of game lets me just die at the start of day [insert here] because the Kidnapper just happened to break into my house before I could get there?" but my response would be "A real life kidnapper isn't going to wait around for you to close and lock your windows before attacking you. Sometimes uncontrollable bad stuff happens." If you're on the fence but hate the idea bad luck can ruin your game session, I'd say you should likely pass. Otherwise, I think this game is well worth buying and sinking hours into. I'm really enjoying it so far. I haven't even beat it, but I felt like I should write a review that Past Me would've liked to see.

  This game seems to allow only one answer to cases so sending files to clients like he is just catfishing and "dating" is considered false work or failed is stupid. What I mean is, when I go though all apps in this computer and I do not see danger imo then getting to the conclusion "he might be doing something illegal" but now figuring out whether it is actually the case before faxing the file is difficult and should not be considered a fail. I hate one-way puzzle solving in games with no freedom of interpretation.

  For a 10 dollar game AND made by one person AFAIK this is a great horror game and unlike welcome to the game 2 where i needed to look up how to play this is straight forward but still provides a challenge good job adam!
