  Game had interesting prospects, but since upgrading my VR from Oculus Rift to Valve Index, it has become unplayable. Index controllers are not supported, in-game hands float way out in front of the controllers. Issue has been known for almost 2 years. The devs said they'd fix it, and they did not. Support seems dead, devs are unresponsive.

  So Ive been excited about this game for days after i saw its page on steam , i got the notification saying its out so i brought it straight away ! Ive only played 30 mins so far but the game is awesome . If you like managing materials and running small buissness strategically this is the game for you , cant wait to see what this has to offer , Love it !

  [h1]Before anyone start hating on this review, hear me out. This review is written with Oculus Rift users and people with small rooms in mind. [/h1] The first part of the review isn't about the gameplay. It's about the playability with an Oculus Rift and/or small rooms. Before I bought the game, I searched throught the discussions, if this game is playable with an oculus rift. The devs weren't sure about this but it should be possible due to them using SteamVR. Also, If I'm correct, oculus rift support should come in the near future. Somewhere in october, possibly. [b]Oculus Rift[/b] As of now, Oculus Rift does work with this game but controls might feel a little unnatural. For instance, the "Trigger finger" is used for grabbing stuff. And lifting your thumb is done by pressing your thumb button instead of actually lifting your thumb from the controller like most oculus rift compatible games. But this is due to SteamVR not having a correct setup for Oculus Rift. [b]Small rooms[/b] Next to having an oculus, another problem I have, with most vr games, is having a small room. Especially with this game, you tend to bump into things and having things out of reach. Which can break the immersion quite a lot. To fix this, I recommend either a teleport/moving function or a way to point at things and grab them with the grab trigger from a distance. But that's not their fault. They warned about this on their store page and I ignored it, like all other games to just test it out. You never know. But if you want to attract more people to a game like this, I suggest some kind of movement function to be added. [b]2 Sensor setup[/b] A thing that can really spoil the gameplay for you is oculus not able to track you. This can be a problem if you use 2 sensors. I use 2 sensors myself. But problems are minimal. This isn't game related but rather sensor related. If you use 2 sensors, it can always see you if you're facing them. But if you turn around, the sensors might lose track of the controllers. Due to the nature of this game's 360 degrees gameplay, this might be a problem. Luckily, you can place your furniture around and in range of your sensors. Meanwhile, I'll keep the game in my library and try out the game from time to time and update this review accordingly (Feel free to message me or comment to let me know the game got updated, in case I forget to update this review). [b]TLDR: Does mostly work with Oculus Rift, for now. Full support coming in the future. Can be hard to play in a small room.[/b] [b]Gameplay:[/b] I've played the game for some time and apart from the flaws this game has, which is totally fine for an early access game, it is still quite enjoyable. I especially love the fact that money is a physical thing in the game world. Instead of just showing it in some menu, you have to store it and hide it. Now for a wishlist of things I'd like to see: - A teleport function for people with smaller rooms - More items to craft and things to buy - Other activities next to sitting in your cell all day. I have some great ideas in mind, but I have no idea how far this is possible. - A way to grab things that are out of reach for the player due to real life obstacles, but shouldn't be for the character in the game. Overal a very enjoyable game. Works better than expected on my Oculus Rift. And I'd gladly recommend it to you. If you're still not sure whether you want to buy the game or not, I'd say, buy the game. Try it out. Don't like it? Refund. Easy as that.

  This game...is genius. Think of Job Simulator but in jail and with a cell shaded art style. Very cool ideas. What i love so much about this game is the full roomscale support. You dont teleport or touchpad, it is like job Simulator or Chair in a Room where it utilizes your entire playspace! Very awesome when VR games do this and i wish more would.

  The game is very repetitive, in the hour I played there were only 2 things to do. The biggest problem is that the entire game consists of crafting, but the way you craft things isn't fun or engaging. You'd think they'd make the crafting based on skill, so you actually get better at it as the game goes on, but you're just doing the same thing over and over. For example, to make an "erotic letter" you have to touch a piece of paper with a pencil about 60-90 times, you're not actually doing anything, just moving the controller back and forth waiting for the game to play itself. So right now, I would not recommend it to anyone, unless you don't mind repetition as a way of grinding trough the game. Also, if you're hoping for ANY sort of narrative, there's none. TL;DR Nice idea, not enough game.

  It's fun! I had a blast playing this, the unique method of crafting was very interesting and is a great example of how many different ways you can approach gameplay in VR. You start with enough resources to make 4 cigarettes and work your way up from there. As with most VR games, the content is very light for the price, but Prison Boss VR has more to do than other VR titles of similar price. The problem mostly lies in the tedium and repetitiveness the game eventually devolves into, so you can only play it for short bursts. Overall, a nice game if a bit pricey. I look forward to seeing where it goes!
