  This is a "Yes but-" review. I was very close to refunding the game before I changed my mind. The game has ENORMOUS potential and I understand it's being done by a single developer. He's created a truly amazing ship designer/builder . . . if only it weren't so difficult to use. There is no tutorial of any kind which meant that i spent the first 45 minutes I spent playing trying to figure out how everyone else was creating such amazing ships when i couldn't even put guns on mine. Here's a hint: when you're in dock, hit the 'tab' key. Very simple, but there's no indication ANYWHERE in game that the tab key brings up the inventory that allows you to access guns, armour, et hoc genus omne. When I commented on the dire need for a tutorial in the forum, it was pointed out that the game is in very early access. True enough, but it's clearly advanced enough that someone can build a very good reproduction of IJNS Yamato, so putting a prominent mention somewhere of the use of the 'tab' key seems like it should have been a higher priority. Which brings me to my other complaint. Font size. This has been a recurring problem with a lot of games lately, not just this one. My eyesight isn't great and it's REALLY hard to read the text. I tried fiddling with the resolution and the only difference was that it made it harder to read because it got small AND fuzzy rather than just small. With these caveats in mind I do recommend the game, though you might want to wait a few updates. Now excuse me, I'm going to go build a Super Duper Dreadnought to take on the Yamato.

  Naval Version of sprocket. Uses the same mechanics as World of Worships. Create any ship. A dreadnaught to a small little commuting boat.

  [h1][b]Problems with NA:[/b][/h1] [b] - Game is super un-user friendly with the UI even for newcomers.[/b] The user interface is way too clunky and confusing for newcomers to navigate around the building/edit mode for ships, sometimes even building is difficultly and highly advanced for the adjustable ship parts with you having to basically make mathematical or just trial and error to get the correct shape. In addition, even though set to English or any other languages some of the text will be in Chinese (Mandarin). [b] - Major Frame rate issues and bugs. [/b] The game for most average PC can have issues with Frame rates barely hitting the 10 FPS which will require most players to play in low graphics or lower down the quality in Shadow and lighting. The Frame rate issues are so bad that sometimes it will take a while for you to click on the main menu settings due to the massive lag spike cause by the procedural generated ocean. Bugs plague the whole game with save files sometimes being deleted during major updates. [b] - Unity Assets makes the game just feel bland an monotone. [/b] The tools used to build and the weapons for the boat feel bland and lacking having almost rough asset design like it was pull out from the Unity store or improperly made in blender making it have this PlayStation 1 polygon design. The amount of colour you can spray is only one so a ships gun and design will have this monotone colour giving it a cartoonist style which isnt bad but feels almost silly. [b] - Mods are a core necessity to expand the games potential. [/b] The Steam Workshop mod and the Discord Modding servers are the ONLY way to expand the games content as there is barely and guns to add on your ship with the base game alone. The lack of update has cause a lot in the community to just finish the game themselves by adding more quality to the designs of the guns for the ships. The game is that bare bones its a 100% need for the Modding community to stay in order to keep the game somewhat alive and bearable to enjoy building more creative ships. [b] - Updates are lacking [/b] The game Lacks any updates. The owner of the game Rig is the only member of the game developing Naval Art, with most updates taking 1-2 years to have a major update only having minor updates round 2-5 months. Most of the updates are very lame being bugs and fixes and a couple of new models added. You get way more objects and quality of life upgrades with the modding community, with aircraft released way before aircraft were officially added to the game. DO NOT BUY THE GAME IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO HAVE CONSISTENT UPDATES! [b] - The Discord Community is not so friendly. [/b] The Community can be very unfriendly to newcomers in the discord with advice and with interactions with some members having a superiority complex when coming to ship designs and some groups of members having a tribal mentality with most newcomers either being shunned during conversations. Most tips and Q&A given are barely responded till 2-3 weeks or will mostly be ignored. [b] - Playing on Mac IOS is unplayable/unstable. [/b] Play on any other devices that are not Windows will lead to you Mac Book or Mac Desktop to completely freeze or unplayable. It is best you at least get a Windows Desktop that has Average grade graphics if you even want to run this game without your Device being an Oven or a Nuclear Reactor. Overall this game has major potential however for a creative sandbox game it is extremely lacking in content and its repeatability is only hindered by Hardware limitations, Bugs and glitches, un-friendly community and is lacklustre of content. My friends and I have all played this game and have given our opinions on it and have all decided to give the game a rating: [b] 4/10 [/b]

  Brilliant, especially for an early access game. Reminds me of the good days of warshipcraft, only now more detailed, interactive and just better.

  Less boring than Stormworks, more fun than Ultimate Admiral, but still has some room to grow. Love this game so far. Been looking for a game like this for a while and glad to see that it is growing.

  Best naval building sim/sandbox game on the market right now. High hopes for the finishing of this game with more rts elements and actual battle options The AI is okay but it doesnt know how to use ship based planes. Simply put, an easy warship building sim-sandbox with a mode for testing and a rudimentary duel/battle simulator. I love it and if you like warships and sandbox games this is really the only game out there that gives you free reign besides simpleplanes, but has all of the guns coded and modeled instead of having to make your own janky bull$h!t . If you suck at building or sandbox games (you will to start) I recommend just clearing a prebuilt ship and putting your own superstructure and combination of guns The physics are a little janky and might cause your ship or sub to not respond as they probably would at times. this is clearly a passion project of one guy and it really shows in the best of ways There is some balance issues and inaccuracy with how shells would actually affect ships effectiveness but for the most part you can either cheese the system to accuracy or to absolutely game breaking OP plz nerf levels of insanity. I personally believe that this adds realism and a unique feel of "winning" because you feel as if you're actually designing and technologically improving through your own clever use of armor and build mechanics. Overall, I'd like a basic campaign mode that locks certain turrets ect. until after you defeat a certain ship or until a year has been reached on a timeline, or alternatively gives you objectives to fulfill with your ship design. I'd also really like to see better RTS mechanics better implemented, particularly aircraft, multiple ship movement, slightly larger battlefields and possibly even more units to play around with at once. Id also like them to add some more WWII carrier based aircraft and torpedo bombers that you can use. Solid 7.5/10 plenty of room for improvement and the game gets better every major update. It its absolutely phenomenal that this was accomplished in unity and should be used as an inspiration to become for other people using the engine. I would have payed $20 and still been impressed Buy it.
