  There are many problems with this game and not many redeeming qualities. Pros: - Graphics are acceptable. Cons: - The mechanics are not properly explained. - Not scary. - The game consists of following a linear trail in the woods, with minor detours. - There is just a single model of an enemy: a ghostly skeleton that's not scary at all. - Primitive combat mechanics (simple melee slugfest). - Not worth $7 at all. - Objects can be thrown through walls. - The character can go through walls, getting stuck in places you're not supposed to be, and being forced to restart. - The story is not presented in an engaging manner: obnoxious cutscenes, and extremely long backstory lores.   This game wasn't always free. Once upon a time, it was nearly $7. I tried it then, and gave up. True to my nature, I picked this back up 4 years later and it's still awful. There is no horror at all. Normally these sorts of games are supposed to create a suspenseful atmosphere or build up to something. Nope. You're just plopped down in the woods with a flashlight and terribad combat mechanics with no explanation or guidance. I mean, I don't need a lot of guidance when I have an axe and there is a bad guy, but some sort of actual story(beyond the store page) would have been appreciated. My biggest problem is that I just can't get into the game. I've played games that were poorly optimized or had corny jump scares and all the hallmarks of bad games, but they at least had something to pull me in right at the beginning and keep me interested. This didn't do that for me at all. Bummer. :( I wanted to like this game after giving it some time to be patched, but it still fell short of what a horror game should be. Not scary. Not interesting. Not for me. Sorry, friends. <3

  It didn't just leave me indifferent... It left me clueless and bored. The game itself looks ok from the get go... But the going goes down hill really freaking fast. The game tells you nothing... At all. Go to the waterfall sure, but why? Ohh and did I tell you that the monster you can't kill blocks the sidepath you need to go. And why does it feel like the axe does nothing when I hit things? And the spiritworld? What? I don't even. The keybindings atleast for me didn't work. And the random pictures poping up in your face from time to time is just cheap failed jumpscares. The random cricket noice is loud and so is the ear ringing noice... With some work... Alot of work, this game might be something. But as it is now it is not worth waisting your time on.
