  i just played a match, some tsumego and read some tutorial to see how the game goes its is much more polished than expected, look gorgeous, with voice cover and run smoothly with no doubt it is the best go game in the world

  Pleasant graphics and music. Can't use OGS though, like at all. Automatch seems to be broken. Correspondence games don't have a button to switch to the next board (quitting via menu into profile is unintuitive and slow). The most frustrating part is that you get logged out often. App probably loses auth token when switching between games. Happened twice in like 15 minutes.

  I am a total beginner. So I played through some life and death beginner problems and played a few games in my career mode. Very fun game and clean. Nothing went wrong. Tried online play and it worked smoothly. OGS was easy to connect and my game was played through that client. Great game. Must buy!

  Great Go program. Very fun AI opponents that feel good to play against, and an interesting career mode that puts you against gradually more difficult AI competitors in a fictional professional career path. Possibly the only game of this type to offer such a thing for the game of Go. The best thing about this program is that it is fun for experienced players as well as would be great for beginners. Myself (7kyu) and my (2dan) friend both enjoyed this game. Only thing to note is the beautiful graphics come at a cost performance wise. I run it through proton on Linux, and it runs with no issues on version 7.0-3. I get about 30FPS average on Intel HD 620 integrated graphics. So not great but certainly playable.

  I've been a Go player since high school but never really had any opportunities to play with others because it's not really popular in the US. I would take long hiatuses for various reasons but the main one would be that no one i knew would be willing to play and learn. OGS alleviated this a bit but it was always hard to get friends to sign up and join. Now that something is available on steam, I'm hopeful I can get friends and family to play with me. And while some things are a little unclear (for example: getting to the tsumego puzzles for the achievement), the cheap price and the clean UI + nice music + tutorials are a HUGE win for me. I heard this was coming out, wishlisted it, bought it, and played about a half hour all in the course of 12 hours. This game has brought me out of a long hiatus and I can't wait to share it. I think Go being in a video game format, along with being available on Steam, will encourage new players to give it a try

  Never played Go before and that shows, lowest level I'm getting beat apart from 1 game where the Ai resigned, I think it was feeling sorry for me. There's a tutorial which gets you going on the basics and some advanced patterns to look out for. The graphics are pleasant with calming music, it needs to be calming due to constant thrashing by the ai. There's a few different ai levels, career mode and online play. If you like board games and looking for one that will make you think then this one's a pretty good choice.

  I had never played GO before and was interested to see what it was all about. I can't comment on the AI or matches I've played. I'm sure more experienced players will confirm if the AI is up to par. I will say that newbies are well accommodated for with undo functions as well as other hint options for spelling out your next move and territorial advantage. If you're looking to learn the basics then the game will patiently hold your hand for as long as you need. The single player experience is also really polished and relaxing. I've only spent about 3 hours in the game but I've loved it so far. The Tutorial section does a good job of explaining the basics of play and the Tsumego challenges are surprisingly fun and educational. If you are at all interested in GO, abstract board games or just puzzles in general then this comes recommended by me :-) The game has been around for centuries for good reason and this is the best way (only way?) to play it on Steam.

  This was the first time I actually studied a match and LEARNED something; watching the board evolve and play out historical games was far more interesting and the voice over and history synopsis set a captivating stage beautifully. I've tried to read GO books before and even used to play online, but the presentation of this game really helps convey GO in a way I find digestible.

  The "About this game" undersells this game a little. For those that have played Go on OGS, this is an attractive frontend. It also has built-in AI review to help analyse your games.- you can even upload all your old SGF files. I am not sure what model the AI uses, I wish the developer was more open about that. "Experience the entire process from Novice to Top Go player"- this is a system that lets you level up an assist system, that you may use to warn you of misplays or have limited uses for suggesting better moves. It is a very helpful tool to quickly improve your game, and also feel a sense of progression for players who were not raised from a Korean Go nursery academy. I recommend this game, for new and experienced players. It's been too long since we've had an attractive option for computer go- it is welcome, especially since real life meetups have become very difficult to share stones safely. It might be an unreasonable request but only thing I might ask as an improvement to this might be a VR/AR mode.
