  Crash. Crash. Crash. Want to use smooth turning? Too bad that crashes the game. Climb with too much gusto? Crash. Want to grab something? Make sure you squeeze your controllers really tight. Getting things out of the inventory by reaching over your shoulder does not work at all. Maybe if I can make it through the tutorial I'll change the review, for now it's a crash ridden mess. Wait for fixes.

  Doesn't work with my HP Reverb G2, all I get is a big red error message saying "LEFT CONTROLLER NOT FOUND" "RIGHT CONTROLLER NOT FOUND" Takes up the entire screen, oh and I fell out of the map like three times just in the "tutorial". This message pops up within about 30 seconds of arriving in a level, tutorial, space ship, crash landing, and does NOT go away! Requested a refund, don't recommend if you have the HP Reverb G2, maybe it works with other headsets, maybe not.

  Ok here is my full review. its a big buggy mess, (it crashed my computer several times) not well acted. A soulless story you could care less about, acted by people who you could care even less about, lots and lots and lots of platforms and climbing. The only thing this game has for it is how beautiful it looks. Dam its Nice... But for all its problems I still RECOMMEND this game.

  Pretty solid fun game, played on a Quest 2 with air link then a Pico 4 with Virtual Desktop. Performance seems the same with both but visuals better on Pico, and easier to supersample with steam VR or play around with VD settings than to try and increase link resolution in Oculus as the game maxes out at 100%. A few glitches into walls etc, I think three in 1.5hrs gameplay. However, frequent saves and a fast reload mean you don't lose any progress. Voice acting is a bit off to me but that could just be hearing an American accent, sometimes it grates a little. Certainly seems like a great bit of fun so far, looking forward to getting back in.

  Nice to look at but riddled with bugs. Cannot recommend at this stage. I fell out of the map 3 times as the world was loading in - this was after falling out of the map climbing a rock. "Out of bounds" and then a restart to the last check point. Very annoying when it happens on the same place multiple times because of some dodgy collision detection. No VR Body, you're just floating arms with really poor IK. Elbows do not align anywhere near where they should be given the position of your hands. Yes I was calibrated correctly. Weird phantom leg placement when playing - it seems like your 'legs' are always under your head... Meaning you float above rocks you are leaning over, bounce off walls rather than land on the top, etc. Things far away seem very blurry, despite having settings on max, sharpness up to full and resolution at 100%. Bit confused by this. Climbing is just bad and there seems to be a lot of it. Preset hand placement with highlights - do you not trust us, devs? Give us some freedom. Also fell mid-climb on several occasions in several places. The hand placement feels too precise, so dynamic climbing doesn't work very well... Frame rates were consistent and high throughout (when not saving or changing levels) Good looking game with good promise, but far too buggy and mechanically unpolished to be called a full release at this point. Please consider these points Cyborn team, I'm happy to give it Hubris a second chance.

  They need to work on the optimization a LOT more. Im pretty sure not even a NASA computer could run this smoothly on max settings but it can be stable on performance priority with 50% sharpening which makes it look like smudge but at least playable. The game itself is nothing special, just a good looking looter shooter with basic crafting. I would say go for it if you are like me and bored with basically all the sh@t that comes out every day on vr lately but only if it goes on sale.

  I've really been enjoying the game so far, it sucks that so many people are dealing with issues of crashing, I've had it happen once but other than that it's smooth sailing. I'm sure I'm getting close to the end but I've really enjoyed the spectacle that this game is. It feels like a cross between Halo 1, and some of the older high end pcvr oculus games. It's got a indy feeling but you can't help but enjoy what they are trying to do. The gun play is pretty fun, it has platforming elements and the enemy AI actually flank you and don't feel completely dumb. Of course the graphics are insane and it feels buttery smooth on higher end hardware. Hope they fix the crashing issue and please if they patch it give it another try it's fun and while not mind blowing its still high quality and if you want to see more high-end games on VR we have got to support them doing it!. EDIT: I just beat the game and all I've gotta say is i really enjoyed it and certainly hope to see more from the team. It ended up crashing around 3 times total during my playthrough before any patches, this is far better than a AAA EA game (for example)... Also for some reason steam is either not tracking my progress or something because it took me probably 6-8 hours to complete and it hasnt updated my time or achievements from the first time i played. It doesn't matter though ill be playing again. Also note to the devs, you should have included more parts like the open area with the mining rigs, add more of that in your next game and perhaps some cinematic music. Had a lot of fun thank you!

  HP Reverb G2 Great purchase... it runs out of the box for me. Some bad reviews and people saying it does not work on HP Reverb G2 I decided to bite the bullet and go for it (This is Steam and we can refund if we do not like the product)... Well I am glad that I did. Working 100% fine no issues so far (only done the beginning intro / tutorial and started the 1st level) I did see the problem with one of my motion controllers not being tracked and the big red error msg... I replaced the battery's and problem went away. This is a wonderful VR experience and I am enjoying very much. HP Reverb G2 v2 Nvidia 3090Ti (Driver version - 526.86) AMD 3900x 32GB Windows 11 22H2

  Just finished Ch.1 and so far I'm diggin' this game. Yes the graphics are outstanding, but what surprised me was how well the game is optimized. I'm on the Index at 120hz with i9-10900k, 3080ti, 32 gb ram. Steam ss set at 150% and in game settings on Quality and I havn't seen reprojection go much over 4% yet. Rocking a steady 118-120fps. Can't say much about the story yet but it seems interesting and the drone that accompanies you is giving me a real "Cortana" vibe. The controls are outstanding with Index controllers (especially underwater). It's just nice to see a game that had alot of attention and polish put on it and that's worth the asking price for me. Highly recommend.

  EDIT: Okay, now that I've gotten further into the game, I've been encountering the game-breaking bugs that make me say DO NOT get this game yet. WILL it eventually be worth getting? Yes, assuming the devs keep updating and patching the game. But right now, I've encountered multiple situations where the game just suddenly loses tracking of my controllers. I'm in a very bright room, and when I exit the game, my controllers work fine. Because the game only auto-saves, this has caused me to have to replay long segments just to get back to where I was before the game-breaking bug. Such a shame. This game has a lot of promise, but right now that's about all it is. Okay, so I don't absolutely YES recommend this to everyone AT THIS TIME. It LOOKS great and RUNS great (on my rig), but there are some serious issues with the climbing/swimming mechanic that occasionally made the game pretty frustrating during the first hour that I've played. Oftentimes you'd climb a wall only to suddenly clip into the geometry--the game tells you to move to an in-bounds area, but you can't so you die and respawn. It's not GAME-BREAKING by any means, but it's an annoyance for sure because it feels so out of your own control. Swimming does a similar thing with the ground. The game also doesn't do a great job of letting you check your objective. So if you happen to miss what you're TOLD the objective is, you're pretty much stuck just exploring around until you figure out what they said. These are all easy fixes for a patch or update, so I'm confident this game will be well worth it soon. But right now, $40 seems a bit steep for a game that is pretty rough around the edges still. Either wait until it's on sale or has a price drop OR wait until they've made some QoL improvements.
