Gunpoint Возможности

Gunpoint is a stealth puzzle game that lets you rewire its levels to trick people. You play a freelance spy who takes jobs from his clients to break into high security buildings and steal sensitive data.

To get past security, you'll need to make creative use of your main gadget: the Crosslink. It lets you see how all the security devices in a level are wired up, and then you can just click and drag with the mouse to wire them differently. So you can connect a lightswitch to a trapdoor, then flick it when a guard walks across to make him fall through.

Key Features

  • Rewire levels to work however you want

  • Trick guards into trapping themselves or shooting each other

  • Throw yourself - and others - through plate glass windows

  • Investigate a noir-inspired story of murder and espionage over 20 missions

  • Choose what to tell your clients, including lying to trick them

  • Choose your own playstyle: quick, quiet, non-violent, no living witnesses, or any combination

  • Discover new solutions to levels that no-one else has thought of

  • Buy specialist gadgets to suit how you want to play

  • All story stuff is skippable

  • Hardest puzzles are optional

  • No bosses - everyone dies in one shot, including you

I definitely milked every ounce of entertainment and replay value out of this game after I bought it by going for A+ grades on all of the levels and 100% achievement completion, but despite the tedium that I thought that that would entail, I enjoyed every second I spent playing this little indie gem. It has a convoluted sense of humor akin to a Yotam Perel or Edd Gould cartoon, but with more f-words. The gameplay involves 2D stealth platforming similar to Mark of the Ninja, but with a pixel-art style and a noir theme. The music is great, and makes you feel like a modernized incarnation of a gumshoe detective as you punch out guards and rewire electronics while trying to solve a twisted, oppurtunistic murder. My personal score for Gunpoint is a 9/10. There isn't much true replay value to speak of, which takes away from a perfect score from me, but like I said I had a lot of fun replaying levels and achievement hunting for over 15 hours after I had beaten the game.

I'm just gonna say... I played this game longer than anyone in their sane mind should. The game is only around 3-4 hours at most, even to 100% it. However it is SUCH a fun game. play it... buy it PLAY IT NOW N O W

I loaded this game up again after several years, only to be reminded of how much I am in love with it. I have been waiting for the day I forgot the story so i can relive it. Might have had a tear drop from my cheek when I heard the music again. This game is the only thing that makes me feel. 10/10 would mentally edge for 8 years again.

Richard Conway is a private detective in the wrong place at the wrong time. Shortly after strapping on his new pair of hypertrousers he finds himself on the receiving end of quite a few pointed fingers, the result of making himself seen on a security camera seconds before a key figure was killed in the same building. Rather than come clean and hope the police believe his story, he decides to take the easy root of breaking into the companies headquarters and destroying the footage, and hopefully getting out with his new coat blood stain free. Tom Francis's Gunpoint isn't what you might think. This isn't a game about guns, or about pointing them; it's about jumping through windows like a maniacal frog and rewiring security systems to suit your needs. To an outsider I imagine this sounds incredibly silly, but that's part of why it's so brilliant. It manages to be both self aware and hilarious, yet remarkably smart in every aspect of its design, and the pieces come together so perfectly that it never ceased to blow me away as I dug deeper into it. You could call Gunpoint a platformer, but if anything it's more of a human catapult simulator. Using your futuristic hypertrousers you can jump incredible distances without the worry of a quick death when you hit the ground, or more accurately, smash through a window or onto an unsuspecting guard. Movement is made even more fluid by Conway's spider-like ability to climb walls and cling to ceilings, essentially turning you into the ultimate cat burglar as you effortlessly move through buildings. It's an extremely impressive move set that feels amazing and as if its constantly evolving as you play, with new levels making use of moves you may have never used or even known were possible before, creating a constantly satisfying and stylistic loop of continual mechanical growth. Standing between you and a parkour bonanza however is a plethora of electronic doors, security switches, cameras, alarms, and other traps that will send you home in a body bag if the guards are alerted, or simply stuck in place. Luckily Conway comes prepared with the ability to hack and rewire these devices to his own uses, with the animatronic like guards being more objects that need to be rerouted than anything resembling human intelligence. This is where Gunpoint evolves into something beyond a clever hook into a ridiculously smart puzzle game, allowing you to quickly reconfigure circuits to set off other devices, open doors, disable guns, and on the whole make you feel like a tech wizard. It's not so much the great mechanics themselves that make Gunpoint an amazing game though, as it is how they are balanced so effortlessly between being clever and keeping the player moving forward, something all to often lost with puzzle games but that Tom Francis has got down to an absolute science. There was never a moment when I felt I wasn't doing something useful in Gunpoint, and even when I failed the brilliant auto save let me quickly restart just seconds prior.. It can't be stressed enough just how much style Gunpoint exudes, from its subtle but unique art design to its masterful noire tinged soundtrack. The graphics are simple yet have a ton of detail squeezed into every pixel, with superb use of lighting setting the mood for a dark detective story and smooth animations allowing you to forget how simple the character designs actually are. Gunpoint succeeds most where so many "retro" games fail in making itself instantly identifiable and memorable, and using its aesthetics to compliment its mechanics and narrative. I said it before but I'll say it again, it blows my mind when I think about how amazing every single moment of Gunpoint is. The writing is witty yet crafts an engrossing, compelling narrative that didn't need to be complex for me to devour every line of dialog eagerly awaiting how it would all end. The mechanics fit together as if they share a cellular bond, evolving and challenging the player while keeping them in constant control and giving them the option to approach encounters however they see fit. The absurdly polished presentation makes it effortless to sink into its world for the few hours it takes to complete, which left me satisfied yet eager to go back and see how I might could play through it differently. It's an absolutely astounding accomplishment for something almost entirely developed by one person, and a brilliant experience that topped any expectations I might have had before hand but have since been all but forgotten. Now if I could just get a pair of those pants for myself... You can read more of my writing on Kritiqal.

Gunpoint is one of those games that knows exactly what it wants to be and doesn't overstep those boundaries. It's a puzzle-platformer with a noir/spy aesthetic. It's short but sweet, it doesn't bore and doesn't frustrate. It's enjoyable, nothing less, little more. That is what makes it so very palatable and easy to like. It keeps itself to a baseline that is squarely a good one. I genuinely wish more games were like this. Options are a player's best friend and to me that is where Gunpoint shines the most. Your only stated goal is to get to an objective and then get out. The way you do this is up to you; you can be quiet or loud, obvious or stealthy, brutal or gentle. As such you can decide exactly what kind of spy you're playing, and to some extent how difficult the game will be to you. The game let's the player have their own fun, fun is clearly what they want you to have and fun is what I personally had a lot of. This playfulness extends to the story. Now, the subject matter of the story can be quite dark, with murder and betrayal on the agenda. It also has some quite impactful choices that require a bit of thought. It is in many ways a serious game. But throughout these events, there is a quippy and wry kind of humour, particularly in the options you get for dialogue and the way that events interact with each other. It's a tendency you might be sick of if you happen to watch a lot of modern action movies, but I didn't feel like it was old or overdone here, for what it's worth. It just fits with how the game is in general, where you might try to sneakily drop behind a guard from the ceiling only to get shot repeatedly because you fell through the glass floor you didn't notice was there. Only an example of course, I wouldn't ever do anything like that myself. Ahem. If you don't understand from my rambling, I do very much like Gunpoint. It's a solid game, easy to like and doesn't overstay its welcome. Highly recommended for basically anyone.

If you like platform, you'll love Gunpoint. If you like humor, you'll love Gunpoint. If you like puzzles, you'll love Gunpoint. If you like Noir movies and atmospheres, you'll love Gunpoint. If you like pixelated vintage games, you'll love Gunpoint. If you like Jazz, you'll love Gunpoint and its wonderful soundtrack (do spend a little more and get the edition with the soundtrack included, it's definitely worth it). You'll love Gunpoint and you'll wish there was more to play.

32 dead. 26 injured. 20 jobs. $13,000. I've had better weeks. They don't let me name names on this blog, but the person behind the hit I was investigating is dead now. In fact, I may have killed more people than I actually avenged here. The trigger man's going down. That would have felt good if I hadn't just taken a seven story body slam. I don't know. I guess I picked the least shitty of two incredibly shitty sides. Maybe that doesn't matter. Maybe all that matters is that I now have the ability to kick down doors. Either way, I think I need 10ccs of ketamine and a Columbo marathon.

Very different game but really fun. It took me a while to buy this game. It had been on sale before, but I looked at it and thought 'Nope, won't like it... probably waste of money'. Damn, I was so wrong. I wish I had bought it sooner. Gunpoint really surprised me. Never played a game like this one before. Very simple and easy to play but very difficult sometimes. You really have to think and pay attention in order to solve each stage. Really entertaining. You just can't stop playing it until the end. Found the game a little bit short. Finished it twice and got all achievements in about 10 hours. Wanted more. Hope they do Gunpoint 2. Bought it on sale but I believe it's worth the full price. I recommend! And I still want more...
