Every city is as unique as the players contributing with their individual styles. As a governor, you’ll be able to guide its development into a social, trading, or military hub. Beware, though: the rise to power of your city won’t go unnoticed, so get ready to protect it from hostile raids and sieges!

Looking for the extra kick? Asteroids host highly competitive end-game PVP events. Travel there through one of the mysterious stargates and find death or glory. Gather scarce resources or fight for control and influence for your guild, climbing to the top of the leader boards & bringing home relics to advance your settlement.

**WARNING** - this game is a classic Kickstarter Scam (google it - the ''expected delivery'' was 2018, the Kickstarter hasn't been updated in 2 years, abandoned now theres no more money to grift from it) - It's now published by Gamigo. The game is being developed by inept devs who have not made an MMO before, just shitty phone games. The vast majority of the promises in the Kickstarter havent been implemented and if you ask about them in the discord, they will delete your questions. I played in the most recent ''beta'' over the last 6 months (which was really a sub par alpha) and before then when the game had some open testing periods. I have around 50+ hours in the game off the steam client. This game has MAJOR game breaking issues and exploits, a lot of the code is just patch work of various asset store systems, which is the main reason why they've struggled for so long to put anything in the game and make things work together. The last 6 months have been focused on adding in ''siege mechanics'', the first time they tried this, everyone just teleported through walls, did ranged attacks through walls etc etc, it was totally broken. The way it works is that you have a town and a central bank where everyone in the guild puts their stuff, so a certain group took over this town of weaker players and then deleted their bank, bye bye 2 weeks worth of stuff, all cause the devs are not very smart. It gets worse. The Siege mechanic had to be turned off after that bank incident, it then came to light that some players had been cheating, they somehow managed to give themselves maximum of every skill in the game, dupe an obscene amount of items/gear and to drastically increase their stats, making them gods. This happens right? Its a game in development, no big deal right? Wrong. The same people who were using these exploits actually reported them a full year earlier and the devs outright ignored it. The exploiters even posted discord DMs of them TELLING the dev about the exploit and explaining exactly how it worked. What did the dev do? Nothing. Once this was pushed into the main discord, of course they got banned and a fix was worked on (the dupe isn't fixed yet, even right now at ''steam launch'') the devs had no choice but to fix it now that it was public knowledge. Some hiccups like this are expected. Now we arrive at Gamigo. The publisher of this dumpster fire. They run the discord/ama's/banning and muting anyone who dares make the game look bad. The worst of them is Arcahem the ''CM'', he doesn't actually do anything other than occasionally post an update, the ''Gamigo'' staff are useless, except if you're a streamer thats streaming the game, then they will literally teleport to you and spawn in monsters that arent available in the game, the streamer gets to kill them and get some loot though, they wont worry about the poor guy whos stuck and needs a CM to teleport them. This isn't being made up, it happened, go check in their discord. Anyway, recently they tried adding the Siege Mechanics again, only to have a new problem where if you attacked a town, the defenders couldnt defend it, so they just got clapped, which resulted in the Siege Mechanics having to be turned off again for the second time. To cap it all off, over the last 6 months the Population in game is usually 10 to 50 people, at peak maybe 150, steam launch is going to give it the most eyes it's ever had, I still would strongly recommend against giving these devs any money until they've actually implementing their Kickstarter promises from 4 YEARS AGO. The entire game and its development is a dumpster fire, it was bad enough before Gamigo, now that Gamigo is the publisher, you're a fool if you throw money at these dirty grifters. This game is the quintessential Kickstarter scam, the ''beta'' earlier in the year was the initial Gamigo cash grab, Steam is the next. Save your money and buy yourself something worth while. I specifically rebought the game here on Steam just so I could write this review and warn any fellow gamers against buying this absolute scam.

Update - 2022/10/11 For those who would say "How can you give this a thumbs down and complain so much if you've played for so many hours. Two reasons. I like the people in my guild, and I spent a LOT of money on a package to play it. That was my stupidity, but I am trying to get my money's worth. If you want to try the game, I strongly recommend buying the cheapest option possible. Why? (1) It's $25.99 USD. You can get $25.99 of fun out of it before you realize how bad it is. (2) The perks from buying the packages are not available in the beta, so if the game never goes live, and I don't think it will, you never benefit from paying more. The devs say they want this game to be hard. The problem is that they confuse a tedious, pointless grind, local banks and brokers (think auction house) with very limited and expensive fast travel with "hard". This team seems to have no focus. I would venture a guess that they knee-jerk react all day, bouncing from thing to thing, never getting anything fixed because they can't come up with a game plan and execute it to get things completed. The game has issues. The more you play, the more you see them. The impression I get is that Gamigo did force the devs to release the game as BETA that you have to pay to play. This is a first on Steam, I believe, and it's not a trend I like to see. "Early Release" implies the game is ready, but you're getting to pay to play. I know they tried to say it's still "BETA", but this set expectations way too high, and it resulted in a mass exodus of players. I really don't see this game being ready for prime time in 6 months. If this game goes live anywhere remotely close to where it is today, it will be an abysmal failure. It will die. Dead, dead, dead. This early release was a cash grab by Gamigo. I am hard pressed to believe this game will ever make it to a live status. Examples of issues: 1-They still can't get interplanetary travel completed. You're stuck on whatever planet you create a character on. Thus, if you max out the knowledge points acquired from discovery and kill npcs/creatures, you are stuck at that power level indefinitely because you can't get to another planet to do stuff. 2-The logs from trees you chop down often hit the ground and poof, or they lean against the stump and you cannot pick them up. Keep in mind that just a house requires a ton of logs. I forget how many, but it is a LOT. Logs are on 8 hour respawn timers. 3-Monster/npc respawn timers - I think it's around 15 minutes. So you get to wait 15 minutes for stuff to respawn. Ridiculous. 4-Not enough stuff to kill - The server is basically deserted, and I still have to travel a long time as I kill stuff and seek more. There is no fast travel other than a harbor where you can travel, but the cost is based on weight. I was practically naked, and it cost me almost 500 gold. For me, farming 500 gold takes 30 minutes to an hour, just to give it perspective. 5-Food - I hope you like to eat, because this game makes you eat about every 15 minutes. Get ready to farm animals for meat to cook to eat. The respawn timers make this painful. I think they should rename it "FarmingMeatSoYouCanEat Online". 6-Bugs - I figured out how to kill a certain mob using a certain technique with zero risk. I reported it. A week later, it's still not fixed. 7-Once you grind all the KP, then what? I guess if you're a PvPer, you can gank each other for fun, but if you're a PvE type player, you are basically farming tons of mats in an attempt to max skills that will only ever benefit you and a few friends because people power game crafting and dump huge volumes of items on the market below cost. Player driven economy? LOL, yeah. Sure. 8-Markets are local. You can see where items are in other cities, but you must travel there to buy. This can take easily 10-15 minutes of monotonous horseback riding to get there, unless you want to spend ridiculous amounts of gold to travel to the other side of the continent. Plate wearers are screwed. Since the cost is based on weight, if they want to hunt the other side of the continent, they have to either pay almost 2000 gold to do so, or ride a horse forever. Since markets are local, and banks are local, you can't just store your stuff and pick it up at another city. Nope. If you don't bring it, too bad. If you fill your inventory, you then have to travel back to your local city to store stuff and deposit gold. 9-Mobs/npcs spawn inside rocks - If they have ranged attacks they will nail you a you pass by. Sometimes you can target them to kill them, but you can't loot them if you do. 10-Mobs/npcs spawn on top of rocks. They cannot get down. You can kill them with almost no risk. If they have ranged attacks, it's some risk, but if they are melee, it's a "shooting fish in a barrel" moment. 11-Hackers - People have hacked the game to make it so they can carry unlimited weight. They have hacked it so they don't die when their health reaches zero. It trivialized sieges and makes PvP pointless. I don't see this team of devs having the competence to actually tighten up the code to greatly reduce, if not completely eliminate, hacks. I foresee all sorts of cheating, gold dupes, item dupes, etc. The "player-driven economy" will be a sad joke where gold has no meaning. If it survives to go live, eventually, everything will come down to barter because gold means nothing. The grind is very real in the game. Constant farming of materials, some of which are on 6 to 8 hour respawn timers means a constant competition with other players to get materials. Example: Copper - 8 hour respawn. It takes 5 to make one ingot. One ingot requires 4 hours of real time to sit in a smelter. A set of plate requires 12 ingots. So that's 60 ore for one set of plate armor. How in the heck would ANYbody be able to walk around in plate armor made with 60 ingots of ore? If you have 12 smelters going at once, you can have a enough ingots to make 1 suit in 4 hours. If you have 1 smelter, it would take 48 hours to make enough ingots to make a set of plate armor. I'm talking real life time here, not game time. By the time you farm enough mats to make a suit, and wait for it to bake, you've basically worn out your current armor. This is so far beyond ridiculousness as to be laughable. I only touched the tip of the iceberg on issues, but I think it give you an idea. If you are at all on the fence, you should probably wait to buy and see how it looks in 6 months. Odds are, it will be dead by then due to lack of meaningful progress in adding content and fixing bugs. Gamigo just did what they do best. Cash grab, screw the customer and run. =============== Original review =============== This game has some haters, particularly those who hate Gamigo. Time shall see if Gamigo messes the game up, but here's hoping. I see a lot of reviews from people with 0.1 hours ... Guess what? They bought the game just to bash it then got a refund. If you hate something so much that you'll go to that trouble, then more power to you. I'm glad I didn't listen to people like this. I would have missed out on over 90 hours of fun and counting. The game has bugs and plenty of them. It's annoying at times, but it's still fun. I may burn out before it even goes live, but I'll be back later, assuming it survives. I have met some good people in game. I'm having a blast, warts and all. Don't let the negative reviews stop you. If you are at all uncertain, get the bronze package. You really can't get a feel for the game in under two hours, so if you go through Steam, you lose the ability to get a refund if you play more than two hours. If you don't like it, you're out about $25.

Scam. Framed as "early access" but no mention of the game being in beta for 5 years, server( ! only one NA server with 200 ping) will be wiped "later". Should be illegal to do final cash grabs like this, this game will either never "fully release" or close its one server 2 months in. - clunky combat - empty and boring map - UI is from 2005 - Freemium game - half the talents are "WIP" - menu looks and feels like it was made in paint - click dash spell works 1/10 times - there is a reason why the only footage you see is three guys on a horse riding through either a forest, or plains, or mountains. That's it. That is the game. Only nice thing is the idea of how you get your spells and abilities from mobs, but I would rather burn the 25€ instead of supporting shit marketing like that. Look at the steam page, look at their twitter, in their discord - the ONLY mention of a server wipe soon is when you carefully read one small banner pre character selection. Never said it before but you deserve every negative review. Games and projects like this one here are the reason why people lost trust in devs, publishers and early access stuff. DO NOT WASTE A CENT ON THIS GAME

Needs time, can't even change mouse keys to move with right click instead of left click. Servers also seem to be US only? Not sure why I have 170 ping. Don't expect much from an indie game in early access.

    Sep 16, 2022

This is the first review in my history buying/playing games on Steam, I felt compelled to leave this negative review because this game is a complete waste of time and money. I've played MMO's before so the launch issues are expected, login issues, latency issues, all expected and that's fine. It's the game itself, it's absolutely horrendous. It's early access, I get that bugs can happen but the amount of bugs and things that straight up don't work is abysmal. The character/enemy animations are extremely poor and janky. It's marketed as an 'arpg in mmo setting' but the combat still feels like you're playing vanilla WoW. On the store page, it also mentions that it's not an old school MMO but it still has outdated features. Example, there's no shared mob tagging, so it takes you back to old WoW days of people camping important spots so you can't even progress. Beyond the abhorent gameplay, outdated mechanics and jank graphics, be careful you don't buy an expensive founders pack because you don't even get those items until the game officially 'launches' (hint its 'sometime' in 2023). This entire EA launch reeks of desperation, it's been in development for years so I can only surmise that they need capital for continued development. I re-bought this game just so I could leave this review and warn others to not even give it a chance, before I refund a second time. Do NOT waste your money, at best, keep an eye on it for a long time to see if the devs can salvage it, but outside of an entire re-work from the ground up, I do not see this ever being worth purchasing. *Side note, do not attempt to go into their Discord to bring up valid questions, even when asked nicely. You'll just get insulted by the other users high on copium telling you to get good or play minecraft. The entire game and community is a complete joke.

There's many old school-ish RPGs doing the same as Fractured proposes itself to do, but better. In 2022 there's no point on buying an overpriced alpha-looking, empty, badly optimized (really badly optimized even for an EA) weird mix of everything that's many years old by now. Huge nope at least for now. Hope they polish the game and make it a bit better - and different.

Play Time - 100 hours total off steam. With this review I'll tell you the different kinds of people that dislike this game and why, some of the cons that I see, and finally the potential. In the games current state, I give it a 6.5/10. Its decent, average. But has a lot of room to improve. Players that dislike this game usually fall into one of the categories 1. Gamingo haters - Some people despise this publisher and will do whatever they can do hate on any of their games. Even if they haven't played it or barely have. They see Gamingo and get to rage typing. 2. Bandit PvPers - About a year-1.5 years ago this game had a much more lax PvP system. What ended up happening during this test phase is you'd have these bandit groups form these large groups of bandits and roam the world. Killing everything in their wake. They relished in making players quit by repeatedly camping. Pissing off streamers by stream sniping them constantly. Things like that. Obviously these toxic pvpers blockading the game for everyone else wasn't great. So they introduced this big karma system that still allows banditry. But it comes at a great risk. This pissed these pvpers off and they threw a fit. They wanted to be able to camp whomever they wanted, steal their loot, and grief. They threw a tantrum and since then this group goes out of their way to hate the game whenever they can. This group has diminished in size over the year, but I still see them occasionally pop into the game and rage in global chat or in the discord. So when you see some of these negative reviews with players referencing things that happened awhile ago, they're usually part of this group. Guarantee that they'll be the ones giving out "clown" awards. 3. Hand Holders - This game is not "modern player" friendly. Its very old school. There's a basic tutorial island with text on the right during the tutorial that walks you through it. But there's much that you will need to discover on your own. Either through just reading the menus and paying attention, asking for help on the communities, or going to the wiki. But there's a lot of players who hop into the game and expect WoW level of hand holding. It doesn't do that. There's little guard rails. There's not some NPC always pointing you what direction to go. You find your own adventure. 4. Solo Players - This sorta flows with 3. But this game is not solo friendly. There are things you can do, but its a 10th of the experience. So those who are used to being anti social in MMOs anre mainly staying solo end up having a bad time. 5. Early Access/Beta = Full Release - This game is in Early access/Beta. There are bugs. Things that don't work. Some of the complaints I see about bugs are actually players just not understanding the mechanics, not bugs. But some of them are about bugs. Bugs are to be expected. They're working on them. ------------------ Now that is out of the way, lets get into the game. Fractured is an old school style MMORPG. There's no questing system. You do the tutorial, then you must find your own way. Hone your character to a specialization. Join a city/guild. Work with other players to accomplish your goals, build your home inside the walls of a city, etc. There are many paths you can take. But the main endgame of the game is PvP. You either are seeking to make your player the best fighting you can be with your specialization, or you help others accomplish that goal. There is grind. You will find yourself killing the same monsters over and over again. To learn about them, learn their skills, get exp, and get resources. You may find yourself gathering resources for hours to help build your house, items, or city. Going back and forth between various resource nodes on a horse drawn carriage. You can become a master crafter, offering some of the rarest recipes in the land at a chosen country. Giving others the tools to survive. You can be a wandering priest, spreading the world of a religion and healing those you come across. You can become a daring rogue, praying on merchants/gatherers for resources while avoiding a cities bounty hunters. You can become a gatherering, gathering some of the most sought after resources to sell to others. There's a lot of paths you can take. All of which take time to become good at. Some more than others. For PvE there are monster camps of various types/sizes/themes. With legendary world bosses as the "main" PvE endgame. The lands are huge. Right now there are 3 continents. continents are like giant zones in any other MMO. I believe there will be 2 continents per planet. Myr is one of the most controversial one because its very large and can get kind of boring between the major points of interest. Most players who complain about a barren map choose to spawn on this one. For me the Karma system is the best part. The thing that tilted the PvPers. It works as follows. There are three alignments 1. Blue (good) 2. White (neutral) 3. Red (Evil) Each of these alignments determines who you can kill. Blue players can only kill red players. White players can only kill white and red players. Red players can kill anyone. Now in the past, everyone went red. So they changed the way the system works. When you die, you will drop your inventory upon death, but not equipped items. However, if you are flagged as evil, you have full loot drops. So that's the risk you take by granting you the ability to kill anyone you want. Now if you go neutral and you kill other neutral/red players and die as neutral; you will NOT drop equipped items. The other system is that to summon those big endgame PvE bosses, you must be flagged neutral or red. Blue players CANNOT summon them. Races also interact with this system. Wildfolk are "born" blue and their planet is the "blue" planet. So it is mostly inhabited by PvErs and defensive players. Humans are "born" neutral and so is their planet. Demons are "born" red and so its their planet. Now if you're a wildfolk and you decide you want to be evil, you can. You can go gain evil karma. However once you get enough bad karma (from doing bad karma things while aligned as evil)...you no longer are wildfolk. You become a "hidden" subrace called Abominations. After that you are essentially the same as a demon. Likewise if you're a demon and you become good, you become an Angel. Now these subraces are not implemented yet. But they are planned. Now the Potential of the game Some may see this and think there's no PvP. The intention is that the PvP needs to be focused on City vs City/Country vs Country. Not huge bands of wandering bandits. That's why many players who want PvP flag neutral and fight other cities. Those who are truly sadistic and want to kill like crazy will roll demons. As that is their purpose. There are also PvP events. Demons can't go to the neutral planets without a debuff. However, every couple of days an eclipse will happen and the gates to the demon worlds will open more. This means demons can go into the human realm without a debuff. During this time humans/wildfolk must band together to defend the neutral planet. Or hunker down in their cities. Demons and Eclipses are NOT implemented yet, but are being worked on. The other PvP system that is being worked on (but not implemented yet) are asteroids. Where passing asteroids cause portals to them to open. Players go into them and attempt to hold the asteroid against other players to claim special rewards and such. There's loads of systems they're working on that I implore you to read about on their website. Current State of the Game The game seems like its about 45-50% completed. They have half the continents implemented. There are current 3/7 races implemented. There's a good amount of skills, enemies, and items. But there is still a lot to be done. The karma system detailed above needs to be finished. Other endgame options. Things like that. On top of fixing the bugs and smoothing out optimization / play.

I wanted to give this a shot even though the reviews were terrible. It does look like the game has some promise, but it does not look like it is ready yet... not even for an Early Access release. Took the plunge with a Platinum Founders pack, but I am unsure if that was a wise decision at this time. I do plan to keep it and give them a shot. Hopefully they get enough founders to keep funding the development, though I am aware my negative review will not help much. Please take this as honest criticism and work to enhance the experience. Pros: - I like the premise. Planning to have 3 factions is a good idea. Very Dark Ages of Camelot-esque. This will allow for a very rich faction v. faction v. faction dynamic, and I hope the developers take some lessons from the way Dark Ages of Camelot did their "Frontiers" update allowing all 3 to gather and fight for castles. - The different races having different PVP features is an interesting idea. I do like having the choice between forced PVP or not. It allows for people to choose if they want a more relaxed game play experience versus a hardcore you better be paying attention style of play. - The decision to not go with traditional classes allows for great customization of characters. Always a fan of more options than less. Cons: - Early access. That is a given. However this one appears to be very early. It does not feel as fleshed out as something should be if it was in development for over 5 years, even with a small team. It feels too much like asset packs haphazardly slapped together. Animations are stiff, but functional. - For a game that claims to be multiplayer and has the "Co-op" tag, it did not appear transparent how we were supposed to make groups or party with friends. I finally found the section to make a party and guild, but neither function worked. Unsure if they are active. But as someone who likes to play healer classes, I would like to join groups and see health bars. If there is a method, there is no searchable solution since it is so early. - On the note of playing with friends, my friend had to quit and join the server multiple times to "find" the right instance I was in to play together with me. I would prefer if there was an easy method to transfer to the same instance or channel as other MMO games have done in the past, so we can easily join our friends. I play with a gaming community, and this would be painful to gather 10+ people in the same instance. - There does not appear to be any intrinsic benefit to paying for the founders packages at this time. I understand it will be offered for the official launch, but when that will happen is not known or readily available. With the stories of slow development and the current state of the game and negative aspects affecting it, I have concerns this will even reach an official launch. - Considering there is a planned VIP feature for bonuses, durability on items, resource gathering based game, published by Gamigo, there are too many red flags for me to assume this will not be a massively Pay To Win game in the future. I have played Rift and ArcheAge. The games were good until Gamigo got involved. Then the shops went nuts with things to buy. Final Conclusion I am willing to give the game a try still. Do I think it is ready for a Steam EA release? No, not at all. I have some serious concerns, but I am still willing to give the developers a chance to prove themselves. This Steam release feels like a last minute cash grab to get additional funding to develop the game, but could also be Gamigo trying to get part of their investment back. I am gambling at this point with low confidence.
