  No Spoiler review: DISCLAIMER: When you play Fallout 3 the game will NOT work unless you use external tools to make the game function correctly. Due to Bethesda recently updating their 14 year old game to run on newer systems by removing 'Games for Windows live' as a requirement any mod made before said update (14 years worth of mods...) no longer work. The only way to circumvent this is to download 2 things, 'FOSE' and 'Fallout Anniversary Patcher' (Linked below), there are an abundance of videos on how to download these on YouTube, however if you require further help drop me a message and I shall help you myself! You will also have to cap your frames to a MAX of 60fps using a tool like Nvidia control panel, this is because older Bethesda games have their physics engine tied to the frame count. The game will not work correctly over 60fps as it was not designed to be played at an fps count above that. I'll get it out of the way and say that Fallout 3 is my favourite game of all time, so I'm happy to admit my perception of the game will be biased. That being said it is not the best game of all time, not even the best fallout. However even in 2022 I wholeheartedly believe that Fallout 3 is a great introductory game into the Fallout universe. It is absolutely impossible not to draw comparisons to Fallout New Vegas(FNV), an ultimately better game. The main quest-line is more linear than FNV, the mechanics more threadbare, the RPG elements more limiting with the black and white karma system and one-dimensional companions as examples. But that isn't a bad thing, especially for newer players. Fallout 3 shines brightest when it comes to exploration, the environmental storytelling is still to this day some of the best in gaming. Exploring real life locations ravaged by nuclear war for the first time was amazing when I first played in 2008. The Side quests, the weapons, the armour All amazing and fit perfectly with the game. I would highly recommend picking Fallout 3 up, GOTY edition is reasonably priced and goes on sale often, there are thousands of mods to download to enhance the game even more.   Can I recommend this game on any other platform aside from steam? 100% This game was my childhood man. Countless hours I spent playing this game. Love the story, the DLC is fun as hell, and you'll never forget the wackadoo journey of going from shooting overgrown roaches with a BB gun to living Randy Weaver's wet dream and blasting the heads off the remnants of the US government with a laser mini gun. UNFORTUNATELY this game was made by Bethesda. The Steam version is notorious for its incompatibility on any computer that is older than your grandma's dinky Windows XP dinosaur. Of course, after literally 13 years of this issue, they decided to "fix it" and break every single mod ever made. Three things you'll need. ****(THE SUPER IMPORTANT ONE)**** 1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDTViZGRhJo This game is so dumb it tries to work on integrated graphics. AKA it will crash on startup because it literally will not detect your graphics card. I know this says "Intel Graphics bypass", but it works for all cards (I have an RTX 2080 super for reference). This is needed just to get the game RUNNING. 2. The Anniversary patcher -Adds 4gb support among other things. But most of all, downgrades the game version to before the HAHA FUNNY October 2021 "fix" (((The 2021 update didn't even fix the Intel Graphics bug from step 1 LOL))). https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/24913 3. FOSE (Script extender) -Needed for modding. Make sure to run the patcher first, as it needs to be patched for FOSE to even work.

  Awful, do not even waste money on this game. Fallout 3 was one of my favorite video games, I had over 200 hours on it on my Xbox account. I decided to purchase it on Steam, and the game crashes every time I attempt to start it. Not at all user friendly, spending an entire evening trying every Youtube video and Steam Discussion, but to no avail. Steam needs to fix this game if they are going to continue to sell it.

  This game is not just The elder scrolls with guns. Fallout 3 is a very easy game to immerse yourself into. I even find it difficult to be an evil character because of all the hard choices you can make in this game. Decisions can effect this game greatly for example there is a choice to blow up a town with a nuke. Karma is truly a b*tch in this game. It also does a good job at giving you that 1950's vibe. And especially the post-apocalyptic survivalist feeling. The exploration in the game is amazing with so many places to explore I have played this game for over 4 years and I dont think I have even covered the entire Capital Wasteland. The graphics could be better and there are a few bugs here and there but overall this game is completely worth buying you will not be disappointed. And remember "War. War Never Changes."

  This is going to be a long reivew for Fallout 3 (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED) Set-Up: http://steamcommunity.com//sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=149946772 (Follow this guide in order to successfully play Fallout 3 on your Windows 7 & above) After getting this game to work properly on my windows 8, it still stands out to be the 'better' (in my opinion) fallout game for this generation of gamers. No disrespect to Fallout: New Vegas but i feel that game focuses mainly on survival and a 'western' setting rather than a true 'post-apocalyptic' like you see in Fallout 3. Mods make this game so much better, but however much more dangerous and unstable so install mods wisely. My advice? install small things like the street light mod and also install FOSE in order to get those working of couse and after maybe a couple of days of playing Fallout 3 with one simple mod gradually expand outward to big & better mods. Be careful though most mods require the DLC so get the DLC to the game ASAP (Which isn't a bad thing of course gives your system more 'breathing' room, but that's just my point of view). If you want a true wasteland expereince install the F03 Wanderers Edition from the Nexus to get the LOL! 'hardcore' mode that F:NV had but Fallout 3 didn't there is a ton of exploration to do in Fallout 3 (quicksave often) from the wasteland itself to the underbelly of the creepy, and dark subway systems. There is so much to do and so little time to do it. The companions in this game aren't really all that great they charge into a heated battle with a 99% chance of dying depending upon who you are fighting (ironically i perfer F:NV compainon system as they are 'smarter' than the ones in Fallout 3) By the end of the day Fallout 3 still stands as my personal 'post-apocalyptic' game to date, So if you want to explore the harsh wasteland armed with an assault rifle and a whiskey bottle then this game is for you!

  I don't want to set the world on fire, I just want to start a flame in your heart. Much like this game did to me when I was a young boy and even today with my most recent playthroughs, here's to the great formative years playing this game... I miss those days
