Earth Analog Возможности

In Earth Analog you take control of the exploration vessel Eurisko XI in a quest through deep space. Your goal: find our new home.

In this story rich space flight adventure you must keep your ship in one piece while traveling through mysterious and often dangerous worlds. Apart from steering and landing your ship and exploring distant planetary systems you will also have to keep all the ship systems operational, which involves prospecting and mining for resources, upgrading ship systems and fixing broken parts. Hunt for precious stones and artifacts to unlock new paths in your journey. And will you be able to control the mysterious Dimension Device? It's all up to you, you are completely alone out there... or are you?

You start the game orbiting Proxima Centauri b, a conventional and familiar planet in some ways. But as you travel deeper into space you'll discover ever so stranger worlds... can you survive in your "tin can"?

For fans of: Interstellar, 2001: A Space Odyssey

Features:

  • A vast universe to explore with both hand-crafted and randomly generated procedural fractal-based (living) planets and stars.

  • An intriguing single player adventure based on a story full of drama and plot twists.

  • An atmospheric and Newtonian flight model. WARNING: Newtonian flight takes some practice to get used to!

  • Solve each planet's often dangerous mysteries.

  • A fully ray tracing based graphics engine bringing never before seen worlds to life.

  • HOTAS support.

  • TrackIR support.

The game is based on a unconventional render technique called ray marching, which allows it to visualize its fractal-based worlds. You need a good GPU to be able to play the game at higher resolutions! Please check if you system meets the minimal requirements.

This is a wonderful, unique game with the exact 'weird space' flavour I'm attracted to. But it's also so incredibly unrefined, it essentially ruins the whole thing. There are SO many frustration factors that ruin the immersion and the fun that in the end I can't help but give this game a negative review. I also don't think the game can be fixed without some very major restructuring; something that is unreasonable to expect from a small developer. My main gripe is the wonkiness of flight. After 12 hours, I'm still not sure if I understand how it works. It's nothing like the classically Newtonian flight games like KSP. Let me see if I can explain. You have two speed modes: slow and fast. You can switch between them at pretty much any time, which feels like you're switching some constants of the universe around. Suddenly everything is behaving completely different. And considering that everything is HUGE (as it should be!), you'll want to use the fast mode more often than not... except it's incredibly easy to gain too much speed and crash. You can switch to slow mode when you're about to crash, and then somehow the universe just... slows you down to a manageable speed, but that not only makes no sense, it's also very clumsy. But that's not all. There's also a third navigation mode - cruising on dark energy. You can only use it in presence of dark energy, it doesn't cost fuel which is a big advantage, and it's the fastest by far. It's like slingshotting yourself to a different part of the planet. Sweet deal, no? The problem is, the dark energy is always relatively close to a hard surface. Either water (no, you can't submerge, it kills you) or simply rock or equivalent. In other words, the game incentivises you to fly close to a hazardous surface at speeds where crashing into said surface is a very real possibility. I died so. Many. Times. Just trying to fly around. Sometimes there are some weird anomalies that change the shape of the surface, or cause tidal movements, or shift the dimensions in an unpredictable way, and that's where the wonky controls really get in the way. Don't get me wrong; these moments are amazing, emotional and unpredictably brilliant. But this game is not equipped to handle them well. If only your starship had some kind of anti-crash shield or the controls made more sense... if only. Then there's the general wonkiness of the design and the UI. Operating your ship is a chore, and the world behaves in a very scripted way. For example, an anomaly will only activate itself if you follow this certain story piece. It makes no sense from a "explorer of the universe" point of view. To make things worse, the game encourages you to follow the story, as that's what often unlocks the uniqueness of the place - but sometimes the story piece is just a portal to the new system, and you have to either make your way back (sometimes impossible due to threats), return later - which due to story reasons you don't want to do since the Earth is dying and you're flying in cryosleep while long months pass - or just accept that you'll miss on some upgrades. Very frustrating for a curious explorer. When things go well, the feeling of wonder and mystery is delicious. Sadly, it quickly gets smashed into pieces by the jank and the inconvenience. However, I dare say - check this game out if you think you can stomach the jank. I thought I could; and I did, for some 12 hours. Not more, though. There is some ingenuity on display. For that alone this game is worth at least a cursory look. Perhaps one day a worthy successor can come and finish what this game started. Hope that helps!

many of the negative reviews i've seen are people who played less than an hour or two and gave up. earth analog is fascinating, stressful, and requires a lot of patience. the game starts with a few relatively normal-looking planets as a way to get you used to the game, but it starts doing weirder and weirder things rather quickly. the UI and controls got a pretty significant overhaul since release that makes navigating your ship menus, and doing routine actions like landing, a lot less frustrating. if you bounced off the game at release, you should check it out again

Saw this game and wondered 'if twitch studio beta can't play no man's sky, can I in theory with my UHD 630 play this?' The answer is not very well with transparency dots. None the less I got some way into the game - up to the part where the ship has to go through the planet to find something whilst avoiding high tide from the planet core. At that point I thought 'munchy' got out of the ship and decide to eat the waypoint. It was drudgey - bit more code rendering - who knows. Would give this a maybe - now I give it - a .

Just lost all my progress due to not being able to save manually and a loading a save, only to have it trigger a quest event and save over my progress putting me back at the start of the game... Could be fun, Stay away until they add a proper save system. Did get it working with my Hotas after a bit of remapping.

i hoped for this one. Fractal and random planet exploring sounds so great - on paper. But here my Problems -no controller support -missing of elementary settings like pitch/yaw resersing, Sound settings for other than music - weird controlls, ship behavior and questing. First Quest you are lead to a beacon in orbit, without full throttle it takes forever with it you`ll fly way to fast and miss it. Second quest find a island. i found the island/ beacon. Cant land there, weird graphic glitches cause i even was inside the beacon and cant see shit. Not getting anywhere. Its rly sad, but no cant take this. (keep an eye on it for improvements though)

If you like realistic space games then this might be for you, however, this game needs a lot of work. I barely played it and I could already tell its at a very rough start. Sounds and music are good. But controlling the ship is difficult. They went with a more realistic approach with space flight, but when you enter into the "earth like" planet in the tutorial, you are still flying around as if you were in space, so ... its realistic, only for space flight. Gathering resources is another very odd thing. Once you enter through the earth like planet you have to find Dark matter, sounds really cool right? yeah not so much. You have to fly over to where the dark matter is, then you have to fly just above the surface of the water and your ship magically gathers the dark matter. No cool animation for gathering it, just a fly over. Then you have to find H20 and that is where the game failed for me. You have to scan around land for water but can only find it at 5000 meters above land, and your scanner is super weird, it shoots this red light and the sound will scare the shit out of you. But it doesn't give any sort of indication where the water is through the scanner. It just shows the depth of it on your console inside your ship, it's a very odd approach to the game. I wouldn't recommend it at the moment. maybe give it the rest of this year and see where it's at right now.

I can't recommend this game in its current state. It doesn't seem to support my xbox controller, and the keyboard/mouse controls are terrible The mouse acts as a virtual joystick, meaning it's almost impossible to fly straight because it's hard to get your cursor exactly in the middle of the screen It uses function and numpad keys for core systems, which I don't have on my keyboard. Like, it's my fault for having a custom keyboard maybe, but who designs a game where "scan" is on the numpad return key? There's no menu to remap your controls I'll check back later and see if there's controller support, or at the very least remappable keys, but as it stands, it's next to unplayable for me.

*** edit: Quick patches and version updates added great QoL things and fixed some things that didn't feel right to some people including me in the beginning. So big thanks for reflecting, I can't wait to fly around some more when I have more time :) *** My first review on steam (first review in life) - I hope it will help both potential players and devs! This game is a GEM but uncut. The promise of strange worlds made possible (only) with fractal math is awesome and stunning at times - I really look forward to exploring and taking in those amazing vistas. I think the engine and aesthetic in Earth Analog is well worth working through the pretty hard to learn flight model. At first it feels similar to Star Citizen but very soon you'll be crashing into planets like mad and next time missing them by thousands of kilometers. After less than two hours I managed to do some objectives and jump to the next system (very interesting) but boy oh boy it felt like double the amount of time and it was very stressful. I didn't feel accomplished I just felt beat up. I don't thing movement has to be easy like No Man's Sky where you can bounce around almost indestructible - but I also don't think it should be this bloody hard. The main thing about this game for 99% of people is gonna be visiting those mesmerizing worlds - how am I going to enjoy all that with so much worry about the weird complicated controls and a hardcore flight model. I guess I'm way too relaxed by today's easy games but I still think it's just super hard. Many people are gonna give "compliments" on the UI/menus and stuff... I think they have character and should stay that way. They are unique and minimal and that's just dandy. But what's really bothering me - I can't wrap my head around this at all why.... WHY did you pick of all sounds that you can pick for those alarms some of the most unpleasant honks and beeps... like straight from Satan's Aural Torture BEST OF vol. 2? They are SO LOUD and just horrible and they honk all the time.. It's among some of the most painful sounds I know, man... I'll have nightmares about those tonight. And that ship voice isn't really helping the situation... flat, dead, and boring... no power, no soul, nothing interesting about it. Since it's (probably) the only voice talking to you throughout the game, why not ask someone with a pleasant voice to do a dub? Or just some other automated voice... but with character. Other than that the sound design is quite nice and I like it. I heard just one song up until now and I'm looking forward to more music and possibly some atmospheric sounds I dunno. It's nice, just please - change those alarms or just send them back to hell from where they rose. I can't stress this enough. Don't get discouraged, I think the first wave of reviews is gonna be bad despite the core of your game is absolutely brilliant. I believe Earth Analog has a very bright future if you'll be able and willing to put the same amount of craft that you put into shaping those planets into stuff like • satisfying flying mechanisms - I think ideally less "real" or newtonian or whatever and more fun and simple. There's nothing wrong with simple. If you want real, go park a car. • an intelligent save system (multiple save slots) would be nice (people would be happy to just load the game, fly around on their favorite planet for a bit and go on with their day) • better sound for alarms, some more beeps, and announcer's voice • maybe a HUDless GOD mode would be a welcomed addition. For a relaxed "a walk in the picture" experience that some (maybe many) people would prefer when there's so much exotic artistry to see. Visit any planet - any time - no danger. Anyways congrats on a very interesting project, I hope you'll make it truly shine. The potential is absolutely there. Good luck and see you in Earth Analog!

EDIT: The new update which allows non-linear exploration with procedural worlds and much easier landing mechanics is exactly what this game needed. This is a real sleeper in space-exploration simulators. I guess I'm going to be the odd one out and say that this is exactly what I was hoping for when I saw the trailer. Apparently people are having trouble flying? It really isn't that hard, there is a very simple tutorial that explains how flying works. It is velocity based so don't expect to be able to pull sharp turns and banks like a fighter jet, you have to have fine control of your acceleration and have to slow down to turn efficiently. In addition, when you aren't within the atmosphere of a planet there is no max speed because there is not atmospheric interference so when you see people complaining about zooming past planets, its because they are just slamming their accelerator to max, ignoring their speed as it constantly climbs and climbs and then not understanding that every second they spend accelerating is another second they need to spend decelerating if they want to stop. If you spend a minute speeding up to a planet and only start trying to slow down when you are 10 seconds away from it, you're going to hit the planet a good 50 seconds before you can kill your speed. You need just as much time to slow down as you need to speed up when you are in the vacuum of space, its common sense. This isn't the case once you are within a planet's atmosphere as the atmosphere will give you drag and slow you down naturally, capping your speed. For that same reason if you are within a planets atmosphere and want to fly to the other side of the planet, it will take forever unless you fly out of the atmosphere to boost your speeds above what the atmospheric interference allows before dipping back down towards the surface. My experience with the graphics has looked pretty much the exact same as the trailer videos, I'm not seeing the bad graphic claims at all, it really doesn't look different than the trailer from what I've seen so far (and I'm running a gtx 1060 so its not like my rig is anything special). A nice slow and relaxing exploration space sim.... except when you get into the cube field... that shit is stressful. The quests are also pretty straight forward... you get a signal strength meter and you head to where the strength increases until a beacon appears on your hud, then you land next to it. Each quest gives you pretty straight forward directions to the next step. For example one of the first things you do is land next to a beacon, your next clue is to "head towards the blue star in the sky to find the next landmass" sure enough, if you look around from where the first beacon is, there is a very obvious blue star in the sky and you fly in that direction until another beacon appears on your hud. It really isn't that complicated yet a bunch of reviews are claiming to not understand how it works.

i was excited for this game but: -i was under the impression it was open world and randomly generated planets, but from what I can tell, it's a linear campaign set throughout a few different systems that serve as "levels" -the flying controls were not very good :( -there's no settings to adjust individual sounds, only music volume, not even a master volume -although it advertises itself as a chill space adventure, i was pretty stressed out for the entire hour i played -had a really weird issue during the first mission where i landed on the moon and my frames dropped to like, single digits until i took off again i understand that first bullet point was kinda my fault for forming a false conception about the game but regardless, im sad it turned out like this
