Death Trash Возможности

Death Trash features a world where cosmic horrors long for humanity but meet punks with shotguns. Influenced by post-apocalyptic, horror, and cyberpunk classics but with a fresh personality of its own. Death Trash combines the crunch and depth of old-school, role-playing classics with the controls and game feel of modern games.

Gameplay

Death Trash is an open-world, singleplayer role-playing game with handcrafted levels, a strong story campaign and optional local co-op gameplay.

The game features real-time gameplay with ranged and melee combat, stealth, multiple choice dialogue, an inventory of items and worms, a crafting system, and skills like pickpocketing and puking.

Travel through a gritty, post-apocalyptic wasteland by world map and explore hand-painted, organic locations. Meet exciting characters, talk to the Fleshkraken, visit the Puke Bar, or descend into old temples in search of expanding your awareness.

Customize your own character through stats and making in-game decisions. Experience the story and discover side quests. Fight against machines and larger-than-life monsters. Or become their friend.

Death Trash features extensive player freedom:

- manual save games

- dialogue can be left anytime

- kill everyone or...

- don't kill anyone!

Story

Humans traveled to the stars and some of them settled on the planet Nexus with its ancient secrets of stone and flesh. But secrets were unearthed, and the civilized people had to flee into enclosed habitats. The wasteland is reigned now by outcasts, controlling machines, and offsprings of the worm.

You are one of the outcasts, pushed outside with a dangerous burden to carry, and your path will take you through deserts, ruins, the underground, and beyond.

Singleplayer / Multiplayer Details

The main feature of Death Trash is the immersive single-player campaign. But the game also contains a local co-op mode:

- Covering the full campaign. The second player can drop in and drop out anytime.

- Second player has their own character, stats, inventory etc. but shared quest progress.

- Both players are restricted to the same location and traveling on the world map happens together.

- Both players can perform actions separately, including dialogue, and don't interrupt each other.

- The game has a shared screen mode (default) and a permanent split screen mode.

We're not planning an online co-op mode due to limited development resources. We will evaluate this again in the future.

Steam Remote Play Together will be possible.

After experiencing almost everything early access has to offer so far I feel I can confidently say this game is good. Really good.
TL:DR
Awesome A-RPG with a lot of character. I've heard people compare this game to a souls-like, but I would rather disagree. It's more like if one of the original fallout games was an action RPG instead of a turn based. You have a dodge roll mechanic and a stamina bar and that's about as far as the soulsi-ness goes. The story also is super good, not quite as whacky or horror as I would have thought from the trailer, but it's so super unique and interesting. Dialogue options are awesome and sometimes chuckle out loud funny. Lots of unique mechanics and character development options. The only thing this game needs is more content. The Good + Combat + Story + World in general (Meaning side characters, towns, finding documents / items to learn more about the lore) + Crafting + RPG-ness I.E. create your character and make them how you want with lots of combat skill options, bio-enhancement mods etc. + Open World and quests that give a purpose. At no time did I feel like levels were empty aside from the random combat encounters that happen when traveling on the world map. Once you kill everything and loot you just move on from those. + SFX are awesome and fitting. + Combat. why is combat listed twice? It's so satisfying. From getting a stealthy backstab to panic rolling trying to dodge 3 dudes with shotguns this game puts you in a ton of unique scenarios. But really, truly what I feel sets this game apart from the rest is AI . Oh how I HATE fighting cookie cutter enemies that use the same tactics. Not in Death Trash. The enemies have personality. Now, yes you will encounter the same zombie type fodder, or crazed zealot with a gun, but different environmental scenarios and combination of enemy types keep it fresh. Once you get the hang of it, it feels good to read your enemies. Some examples below.
A zombie type that will charge through you 3 times (generally) before moving in to get a melee hit. The spiders that will shoot webs from afar, but if it hits and slows you will then go for an attack before retreating again. Meat Punks that will lead shots to try and shoot you right after your roll, and several more.
The OK ~ Music is mostly ambient background noises. No grand soundtrack theme or anything memorable like that. Sometimes made things feel empty and lonely which I believe was a creative choice, because the main menu has some music and other-things, but overall nothing to write home about. (Or to buy and OST which they don't have) ~ Graphics; While retro and stylistic are almost too simple for my personal taste, sometimes jarring how detailed and cool some of the environment is, and how plain and 2D the characters are. I would love to see something more omnidirectional in place for all the characters, for example instead of only having 4 direction sprites bump it to 6. The character changes his model in an X format meaning { DownLeft, DownRight, UpLeft, UpRight } but it would be nice to have a directly up and directly down sprite as well.(Sorry if I explained that poorly) I'm sure it would take a considerably high amount of effort to add that many more sprite types, but would help a lot to make it feel less 2D. Another thing is the lack of soft shadows and true lighting of any-sort. It's a very traditional 2D pixel style, but for me seems a bit bland in the sense of how creative other games have been with 2D pixel art. The Bad - In early access only appx 9-10 hours for a single playthrough on Normal. There is a Hard Mode I haven't tried out yet, but I definitely will. - There is a Quest achievement that you can lock yourself out of if your empathy skill is high enough. Didn't know this until it was too late. The empathy skill is basically a clever way to say speech. I feel like the skill itself didn't ever really help me... which kinda feels bad because I invested to max it out asap. Although maybe there will be more dialogue chances to use it after EA. Only thing I could see it being useful for is speedrunning as it will let you skip out on certain quests, which I would prefer not to do because that basically cuts content. Anyways thanks for reading, I recommend anyone to give this great game a shot. It's so humbly priced too I almost felt bad buying it while on sale. Once finished I could easily see it being worth over $30. OH don't forget the game has split screen co-op!! Who does that anymore?? only people who CARE. Game runs great too never had any performance issues.

I know it might sound strange, but - as a novelist - I can tell you that this game *actually* has vision. Bizarre, unhealthy, needs-to-be-medicated vision? Yes. And yet... still real. To the degree that Dwight MacDonald was right when he defined high culture as any form of artistic expression where the producer is concerned exclusively with having his or her own inspiration embodied in a final product, to the neglect of any market expectations, DEATH TRASH is a work of high culture. You should support it. There aren't many people like this out there, anymore.

I am voting this up with great trepidation. The game is great. Well, the 15-25% that they released. My Steam library is a endless graveyard of "Early Access" games that have been abandoned by the developers. As of now, Death Trash is getting updates and patches pretty consistently and that's great. But I'm kind of over buying an Early Access game and watching the devs abandon it after a year or so. The problem I'm having with Death Trash is that the current version ends right when you're starting to get into the game. Took me about 7 hours to get to the end of the current version and at first I wasn't sure but the gameplay grew on me. The story is unique and the art style is in that retro pixel style I love. Combat is easy to learn and tricky to master but by the end I was smoking groups of enemies at once- dodge-rolling and blasting fools with a nice arsenal of weapons. When I reached the end I was stoked because after hours of being unsure, I wanted to keep going. And then it ended. "Thanks for playing! We'll have the rest of the game out someday....maybe." And they might. Just like countless other games that could have been great. Sleeping dormant like dead Titans in my Steam Library. Once, a promise of something incredible and beyond our own expectations now a derelict reminder of why we shouldn't spend our money on Early Access titles. I hope Death Trash gets finished, but more-so, I hope I still want to come back and play it by the time it does. If it takes years to get to full release like so many other EA titles, I will be changing my review to a thumbs down. I plan to return to this game in a years time from this review to see what kind of progress has been made. A title with a 'Overwhelmingly positive' Review score on Steam should be making gangbusters selling it in EA. I hope they put that money and faith to good use and release the full game from start to finish in a reasonable time frame. This isn't some Elder Scrolls title, no reason for this to take forever to be released in full. If you want to support them, you should. The game is great, so far. I just hope they finish it.

First of all, this game allows you to backstab with a sledge-hammer. So we're already close to 10/10 territory. I've already finished the alpha, and I believe I've had more fun with it than I've had with many other fully finished titles. DT has it all; It's a great setting that's not derivative. It has great humour, it plays good, it looks good, it sounds good. If the alpha is indicative of the finished product, we're talking about an absolute classic here.

So... It's like a modern R-rated version of the original Shadowrun(SNES) with snappy controllers, a touch of Dark Souls in terms of dodging and sense of urgency...Amazing and original artwork of a Cthulhu-infused post-apocalyptic landscape. Tastefully tasteless humor, fluid UI, Not-redundant RPG Mechanics... And it runs on Linux on my damn old T440S... I understand that it's unfinished. I came to write this review after my first crash... But I don't care... I think anyone that is pensive about supporting a title of this sort should make the step and do it immediately. This is a title attempting the home run...and it's already looking really promising!

if your a fan of Diablo and the old Fallout Games that were not FPS's, this one is for you! My only gripe is the lack of bangers and by bangers I mean music. I kind of expected a game with the name "Death trash" to have some heavy hitting tunes (specifically against mobs and bosses). Would love if a dev replied and told me if the music in game was still something they were working on.

I am a Japanese who has purchased and is playing "Death Trash" on Steam. I love this game. The scenario and the system are very interesting. The design of the game is also unique and great. It is in Early Access, but I will play a lot until the official release. So far I haven't encountered any strange bugs. I support the work of the developers.

TLDR : Its great, worth a shot. Good Sides : 1. Ambiance is out of this world, its really well done. Does a pretty good job about showing new norms of the world. 2. Art style is great, this is pixel art done right. 3. Not a single part of the game leaves a bad taste in your mouth, it just goes on at a great phase and good story (so far, still early access) Middle Ground : 1. Combat is fine, although cycling through usable stuff needs a bit work, especially for casts. Main difference is that on many games like this it selects wherever you hover your mouse when opening menu in mid-fight so selecting is faster, easily fixable. 2. Content is consistent, havent met any weird difficulty spikes or breaking apart from story of the world. Side quests are fitting to the theme as well as main quests. Bad Sides: 1. Melee is worse for no reason, either guns should be nerfed or melee buffed. 2. Game felt a bit too easy from time to time, and not only on combat sides. I didnt had to put much effort in quests, they did themselves, i always had enough healing items and bullets, overwhelmingly in fact. I believe cutting resources a bit and putting some difficulties that couldnt be brute forced would help. It should feel like im trying to survive, but it was feeling like i am taming everything. 3. Merchants dont have much to sell, aka theres not much content in the game in that part (i know, early access and will be fixed) To sum up, its worth just even for the ambiance, yet puts on decent and interesting gameplay mechanics too. Any bad or lacking sides the game has could be fixed easily and game is early access.
