  The game offers everything that you should be expecting from a chess game and adds more on top. Classic chess - check. Different chess variation - check. Chess with fog of war - check. Play against AI - check. Play against other players - check. Single player campaign - check. Puzzles - check. Great visuals - check. All in all the game works for everyone who enjoys Chess and also for those that are getting to know Chess in the first place. The campaign is fun and entertaining, although sometimes it is challenging and difficult but still fun to play. Highly recommended!

  I can't describe how much i like graphics of this game, this surely is the best game for chess lovers who are bored by the classics. 11 out of 10

  Dark Chess is a wonderful twist on the Classic, Time-old game of Chess. Not being able to see all of your opponent's pieces makes the game so much more difficult to react appropriately in critical positions; I can only imagine what exciting chess could take place in such a Game Mode. As an Expert on the verge of becoming National Master, I've been waiting for this game to release for months and have been playing on the "Dark Chess Tournament" iOS app in the meantime, honing my skills and earning a good amount of pocket change in the process. Now, onto the Game review itself (Keep in mind that I'm basing my review on the EARLY ACCESS version, 10/15/22): ⚙ MECHANICS - 10/10 -It's Chess! 🎶 SOUNDS - 7/10 -The music and SFX are nice until you've heard it 10 times over. Highly recommend the devs to lower the max volume that way it doesn't hurt people's ears. Maybe add more sound effects to the chess playing(?) 🧩 PUZZLES - 10/10 -The puzzles in the Campaign were, at times, EXTREMELY CHALLENGING. This is exactly what a player at my rating strength wants to see when spending $10 (~2200 online blitz, ~3100 tactics puzzles chess.com) 👤 USER INTERFACE - 4/10 -I've already played through the entire Campaign Mode and I got a little annoyed accidentally pressing the "Back" button that's located conveniently where a "Play Next Level" button should be. -I REALLY HOPE that the Developers add the option to change Chessboard themes to something more that players are more used to. The Bishops look so much like the Kings that it was hurting my head during the more difficult Puzzles and Campaign games. - ADD A SKIP DIALOGUE BUTTON -The Campaign bots need to stop spamming their dialogue so much! Please and Thank you! ▶ PLAYABILITY - 2/10 -Subject to change once there are more players that have bought the game. I tried looking for a Multiplayer game and there were none when it should be peak playing time (early evening). OVERALL - 6/10 - I'm hopeful for the future! Keep working on it and I promise once Early Access is over, everyone will be happy.

  Fun chess game with a fresh approach! Fog of war adds an interesting twist, offering a degree of unpredictability. If you are into chess, grab this one - I say it's money well spent.

  Classic chess rules with an element of unknown. You'll pretty sure will end up in tricky situations, when the fog of war does it's job!

  Very interesting and uncommon look on the chess games. I have just started - and already can not stop as i wan to play more. Some times AI is annoying me, some times i lough at it - and many times im sitting scratching my head as need to think of what to do next. And it is all with timer ticking. I have played chess on the board and had some games before - but this one stands out of the common AI-Player games. Challenging, interesting, making you think - what else would you need from a good game? Definitely worth money i have spent on it

  So, here goes good old chess in the very new way! Fog of war on chessboard makes it even more entertaining and breath catching. Graphics are outstanding. You have the feeling that you are grabbing real figures. I enjoyed the adventure campaign, it’s always good to have a fitness exercise for your brain. Missed some good additional sounds there. Hope this version is only the beginning and developers will give us more interesting improvements in UI and game-play. Keep up the great work dudes!
