  First let´s make the panorama of why this is a game I LOVE but I will never recommend, simple: this is a game for people who are completely fucking INSANE, I am one such person. This is not a game, this is a computer program that the pentagon uses like Exxel but, If you love to just have a never ending series of issues, mysteries about how to make, other way simple things in other games, such as unloading things, to still be completely out of your reach even after playing and watching tutorials. Or simply go spend 8 hours trying to make things the proper way, just to realize, by sheer will and trial and error that you needed an AWACS unit, but not that one, and that one wont do because the SAM bateries are not being engaged by the F 15s you sent, oh that is cause of the ROEs, but no. Its cause you need to stablish a zone where the tankers will be refueling and understanding that AMERICA FUCK YEAH! is not at all the way to win against Iraq AA systems, the stealthy planes are not a myst of terrible ghosts, and that if you are still willing to go and spend other 6 hours carefully plannig a strike, double check, and still have 40 Raptors being completely desimated by old soviet something. Or just plain travell to 1985, and do cocaine and just launch ALL ICBMs and watch them excilarated move in the form of a smal missile sprite that moves in a glove and THEN inpact with a small white circle, and just think that is the meanast coolest thing ever, THEN, AND ONLY THEN, go buy this add me as a friend and we cant play multiplayer, its not a feuture, but we CAN TALK AND EVEN SCREEN SHARE THE EVER LIVING FUCK OF SOME PASSER BY WILL CONFUSE FOR AN 2007 GOOGLE EART, if you are not in the same facility and think this is a neat sim, you will not even hate it, you will leave it as an old spinster aunt, alone, and once in a while you visit, and remember huh! I sure dont even care about aunt COMMAND, but its too late to refund and too small to make size in the DD, so, let her there, to die, alone...

  Wanna fly the SR-71B and shoot at modern planes while going FAST? Wanna fly 100 of them? Wanna fire off a nuke at (insert city here)? Wanna fire off a thousand? (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR OLD PC'S) Wanna test the latest real world combat news with some simulations of the equipment being used? With a little effort you can roughly simulate any military operation, if you spend some time learning to setup units/missions and to micro-manage them, which really isn't an issue like i see other reviewers say. Once you dedicate your brain to learning this program there is a lot you can do and the speed at which you can do it will increase. Yes, large scenarios can take a long, long, time to get through, that is just the way it is man. If you learn how to properly setup missions for your many units however, the micro-management is cut down by a lot. It is fun if you like sandbox military simulations, simple as. ONE HUGE PROBLEM. Hyper-sonic weapons and some other options are pay-walled and the cost is ridiculous. Equipment and settings shouldn't be pay-walled. The program is not cheap as is. I have never seen such audacity from a developer to be frank. Why can't the scenario/weather settings and HVG's etc be a DLC or, you know, just included... Maybe I am off base here.

  Look I don't recommend this if you don't have autism. Like straight up this is for freaking nerds and degenerates like me with little to no social skills. This is not a game its a simulator. It's all numbers in analysis/attention to detail. Like this will suck you in if you take conflict data analysis as an interest. Also Its hard to justify the price if you wont sink 1000+ hours into it. The sim is $80 but i bought it at $100+ iirc back when it was Command Modern Operations (CMO). Just wish it was as snappy as google earth. Unfortunately its not possible. Don't buy if you're casual, if you think you can bear it then go ahead and buy just make sure to refund it if you don't like it.

  I bought this game quite some time ago and every now and then i come back to it in the hope that one day i will be able to build and play a reasonable sized scenario without the game either crashing or odd behaviour being exhibited by the units in game. The game itself is a brilliant concept but the reality of attempting to play it (for me at least) is that 70% of my time is spent trying to figure out why the game has crashed with the usual 'memory exception error' or 'CMO is not responding' again. You only need go over to the Matrix Games tech support forum for CMO and see for yourself the amount of issues that are constantly being reported. To be fair to the devs they do try to address the issues but it seems that each new update brings with it its own plethora of new technical issues/bugs. Apart from that i would also say that my only other major issue with it is the UI whereby it is far from intuitive, especially when editing scenarios. This issue could be so easily rectified by providing tooltips for each of the functions. There is a manual and it does help up to a point but when things start going awry it is of no help whatsoever. To sum up i would have to say that the game is overly complex, unreliable and prone to frequent crashes/unusual behaviour, and for the price they are asking i definitely would not recommend you purchase this game.

  What is CMO? Command Modern Operations is battlespace wargame simulator. It is capable of simulating engagements of ships aircraft and land forces in a 1 to 1 realistic representation of the earth from the view of a map. Accurate and flushed out data on a massive database of warships aircraft missiles bombs radars satellites. If you can think of it CMO has it in their database in extremely accurate detail down to its specific radar and infrared signatures. There is even hundreds of theoretical units from various countries at various time frames so you can put your dream wonder weapon that was never put into service! The developers have added all the tools a modern warplanner will have and listens to the players to constantly improve the ease of use of the game. As of this current date the new update "Countdown to Warplanner" is coming to the game wich will add improved formation controls for aircraft, Time on Target tools, a brand new logistics system, improved physics of guided weapons, and a whole lot more. If you are into tactical air and naval simulations this is your game. If you like playing logi after the update this will be your game. Now if you are looking for a tactical ground forces game, stop right here. CMO is NOT a great land based simulation game. I highly recommend the Combat Mission series if you want a great land based experience. Now its got things like MLRS Artillery SAMS and even IBMs Radars and such that are great and the current other land units like t80s and abrams are being improved. but is not the point of CMO anyways. Now if you want to release a swarm of MALDs followed by HARMs and Tomahawks on sophisticated enemy SAM netoworks or put Carrier Battlegroups aginst waves of Backfires. Perfect. This game is your perfect sandbox to slowly melt your mind from all the data. You have tons of scenarios from both the dev team and people who have submitted to the steam workshop. The dev team has even got a list of community made scenarios that are being added to the actual game. Now be warned the game is tedious and the scenarios can be very very long. And some scenarios can be overwhelming. But you learn the game and get past some of the kinks and i promise you will have fun.
