  ***On note of the "mixed" reviews*** I didnt get this game for a while in VR because the Mixed reviews caused me to hesitate... but I gave it a try and I was blown away by how fun it is in VR. THE MIXED REVIEWS ARE AN INJUSTICE! This game is absolutely fun and immersive in VR, and perhaps one of the best VR shooters on the market! There are only a handful of things in the VR that are not good, such as aiming with a sniper -- instead of using a scope, it brings up an actual screen infront of you, which was very odd. , but compared to the rest of the game its an absolute win! -- look, you have a 2hour return policy... give this game a chance, and do not trust in the "mixed" reviews. this game is definitely an 8/10 in VR

However, I certainly understand why it has a Mixed review status on Steam. While the game itself is great, the VR port is underwhelming to say the least. Gearbox could have done a much better job with the VR port, they basically did the bare minimum to bring Borderlands 2 to VR. So what's wrong with the VR port? Well, the biggest thing is the decision to not support online multiplayer coop. Online coop was one of the biggest selling points of the Borderland series. The fact that that Gearbox decided to not bring that to the VR version, yet still charge $50 USD normal price was an interesting choice. It really didn't end well for them. The controls are also quite awkward and take a while to get used to. So it's a little hard to describe, but basically you use left trigger to ADS (aim down sights). This slows you down to a crawl, but allows you to shoot accurately. If you do not ADS, you'll be hip firing. Hip firing may work if enemies are up close, however, you'll be missing wildly at a distance. This works great in pancake (2D gaming), but not so much in VR. It's just weird to have an enemy right in front of you and see your bullet take a hard left or curve out of the way. In fact, at the start of the game, guns are just generally inaccurate. However, I got used to it. In fact, I grew to almost like it. With scoped weapons, you'll get a windowed screen where you can aim directly at enemies. While not as immersive as looking down a scope, it's a quick way to make ranged shots quickly and still have skill involved. I grew to enjoy my scoped sniper rifles. I got very accurate with each of my weapons. Many of the interactions are of the point & click variety. A laser shoots out of your off-hand and you'll just select loot or items from your inventory. It's not an immersive system, but it generally works although it does have some jank to it. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps on high graphical settings. The only major bug I experienced was that sometimes enemies would freeze in place, but this only happened 3 times that I can remember in my almost 44 hours of gameplay. You do have full locomotion, teleportation, smooth & snap turning available, along with comfort options. You can set the gun angle and your game height. All the DLC from Borderlands 2 is included, free. I had fun. This game took a while to get used to. Driving was never good. The menu UI never improved. However, the combat was a lot of fun. There's just so many weapons with so many different effects. Each weapon type feels different and there's just so many weapons with their own flavor. There's also a dizzying variety of enemies. While there isn't a huge variety to the quest types, there are many memorable characters and some fun story line quests. At the end of the day, you're in Pandora. Borderlands 2 has come to life. There is no better way to experience Borderlands. Honestly, this is one of the best shooters in VR. Borderlands 2 VR is a mediocre port at best. I would it even call it subpar and underwhelming. However, the core game experience in VR is great. It is one of the best VR experiences despite all the flaws from the poor job on the VR port done by Gearbox. I do highly recommend it. Please play it for more than 10 hours before deciding to leave a negative review though. Most of the negative reviewers played this for less than 1 hour. Rate 7.5/10. I don't understand why so many Quest users say this game doesn't work on the Quest. I had no issues on the Quest. If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group.   Crosshair and hud is shifted to the right, there is no way to fix it other than turning off the crosshair and hud. Sniper rifle scope is just 2d screen in front of you. oculus quest 2

  I cant even get into the actual game play. It goes through the intro and freezes on a black screen every time.

  Genuinely, an interesting little way to play Borderlands 2, but it's kneecapped by how they handled recoil. Instead of something that can be easily managed, they opted to make it so if you're not holding the ADS button, your shots will likely hit everything except where you're aiming. While holding the ADS button, you move MUCH slower too, there's no proper "Look down the sights" mechanic, just hold a button. Also driving a vehicle is so disorienting. In the original version, you would simply turn the camera to steer. With this, steering is mapped to both thumb sticks. One for forwards and back, the other for turning. Could have easily been done with one stick. Overall it just feels like a jankier, less fun version of normal BL2. Just play the desktop/pancake version honestly.

  Was not playable at all, sound disapering, controllers were like 3x bigger then the actuall ones and about 30 cm infront of your own controllers. Sadly not playable. Using HTC Vive with deluxe audio strap

  Whoever ported this game to VR had no clue what to do and used some port tutorial from Virtual Boy. This port is an all around disappointment and I expected more from Gearbox. Shame on you.

  I was so excited for this... I sat refreshing the page until I could click buy :cozyspaceengineersa::neilfacepalm::cozycastondeath: Doesn't support Index controllers at all and you can't rebind controls in game. Yes, you could work around this with Steams profiler, but why should we have to? Graphics look terrible... Looks really dated. They remastered BL2 for PC, but this looks worse than original. No amount of AA will remove the jaggies. Movement incredibly clunky and slow. Removed PhysX component of game, which is a bummer because that was a lot of fun with the liquids and things flying all over. Fish eye lens look to it. Terrible scaling. Even a small dev team like the folks who created "The Forest" could manage to add VR in a much much better way. Still multi-player, still can play with folks on flat screen AND VR. They did it as part of the game, for free... This is 50 bux for a garbage console port... Extremely bummed.
