BATTLETECH Urban Warfare Возможности

included in the battletech season pass!

About the Game

Urban Warfare brings 'Mech combat to the vast cityscapes of the Inner Sphere! Electronic warfare, large-scale building destruction, environmental mechanics, new enemy units and more make the urban sprawl a whole new battlefield.

Urban Warfare

Street brawls introduce new tactical gameplay challenges as ‘Mech combat moves from wide-open natural landscapes to vast urban sprawls. Every building in the new urban biome is fully destructible, so you’re never more than a few salvos away from a new line of sight, or the defensive cover of high-rise rubble. Destroyed coolant exchanger buildings, and broken electrical transformers that disrupt targeting will drastically change the battle as you go.

Electronic Warfare

The return of these lost technologies will forever change the 31st century battlefield. ‘Mechs equipped with Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) and nearby friendly units are obscured from enemy targeting systems and immune to indirect fire. Meanwhile, ‘Mechs equipped with Active Probe can reveal, locate, and target enemy units that would otherwise be hidden.

Two New BattleMechs

The experimental Raven 1X sports an advanced electronic warfare package that combines ECM and Active Probe systems into a lightweight component. The Javelin is a compromise between speed and firepower, with close-range knockout power.

New Flashpoints

A wide variety of new branching short stories that link together mercenary missions, crew conversations, special events, critical choices, and rare bonus rewards.

Three New Enemy Vehicles

The Gallant Urban Assault Tank sports a variety of weapons to fight at all ranges with speed and agility, the Packrat is a battlefield support vehicle equipped with a prototype version of ECM, and the Rotunda is a reconnaissance vehicle equipped with a prototype version of Active Probe.

New Encounter

Attack and Defend is a challenging new mission type where your mercenaries must destroy an enemy’s base to stop a steady stream of attackers before they can overcome your forces and knock out your employer’s base.

warning: this opinion/DLC/game is directed towards tabletop/miniature nerds who are 30+ and were outrunning before it was outrun I've only been playing for a few hours but I'm just blown away by how much better the game looks and feels now. I skipped Flashpoint as it didn't fit what I was looking for features:price ratio-wise. What I WAS looking to invest $20 in was a level editor so I could make maps 100% city-based and destructible with tons of line-of-sight obstacles that were also destructible and AOE-damage-causing destruction and equippable +/- range items. This expansion delivers all of it, and I'm in agreement with PC Gamer review in saying it might as well be called "Homecoming" because it finally feels like a very natural extension of Battletech. Essential update.

TL;DR: If you're enjoying BATTLETECH and want something that mixes up the old formula, this expansion will definitely do that with its City biome and electronic warfare features. I'm enjoying it so far and am happy with my purchase! Played about two hours so far and started one of the new Flashpoints, as well as a new career. Got to say, I'm happier than I thought I would. A new biome, two new 'mechs, a new mission type, some flashpoints, and electronic warfare don't seem that deep on paper, but in practice, it's changed BATTLETECH for the better. Honestly, the city map alone changes up the way the game is played. Lighter and faster 'mechs now feel like they have more of a place now that they can duck in and out of alleyways after opening up on a target. The new mission types and changes have made it possible for "third parties" to drop in and get involved in a fight, making each mission feel like your lance is part of a bigger operation. While I haven't gotten to play around with ECM yet, I'm sure I'll be satisfied with how it shakes up the tactical landscape. The only issues I have with the expansion are the biome's technical performance and the price. While I expected the game to stutter a bit with this expansion, I was hoping the technical improvements would have transferred over a bit more to the expansion. While I'm able to play the game on nearly every other map at a buttery smooth 100+ fps, the city biome usually causes my machine to stutter a bit, usually dropping to 15-20fps at higher intensities. It doesn't bother me as much since its a turn-based game, but I could see how others would be frustrated. The other issue, the price, is what I predict to be the biggest complaint from others. While I purchased the expansion as part of the season pass at a reduced cost, $20 seems a little steep for what's offered in the actual expansion. While it's no doubt better in terms of content than the last expansion, I do feel like a few more things needed to be added to the content list in order to make that $20 hurt a bit less. All-in-all, I'm enjoying myself and predict putting many more hours into this already enjoyable game. I'm happy to see that HBS improved upon their last expansion attempt, and I'm looking forward to whatever content they have in store for us in the future!

The new biome is definitely refreshing. The two new mechs and ecm mechanics is aslo neat along with 3 new ground vehicles two of which use the active probe and the ECM mechanics. The content however is woefully lacking all around. Definitely not worth the asking price of 20 USD. I find after an hour or two messing around with the new equipment and biomes leaving the game again. I feel we need much more content than a few mechs n tanks. The Biome is the real seller but even then it's mission types are more or less the same. I find myself more excited about what the RogueTech team will be doing with the handful of new assets than the expac itself. This is again where I wish the Steam Review system had a Meh option or a "maybe/If you do buy consider" button The biome alone is the strongest point, but not for 20 dollars. Wait for a sale. My suggestion to HBS Go big or go home, we need more mechs, a lot more, but not just mechs. Vehicles infantry and the likes, the ability to get a new and better dropship the argo is cute n all but I'd take a Spheroid Dropship any day. Rather than thinking small I think you guys ought to think bigger in terms of scale. More lances, diversity in combined arms gameplay artillery, aerospace support etc. Just my 2 cents anyways. Expand the MP if your gonna add it or tack it on, give me a good reason to play it. Official modding support and acknowledgement of RT, hell instead of wasting money on diversity hires how about hiring talent like the RT team just to name an example. The narrative elements are so god awful that it upsets me greatly that this universe is handled so poorly. There is no fire in the characters or the plot it's all empty. I want for you fellas to succeed but this isn't working out nearly as well as it should.

Great expansion. The city maps and electronic warfare add more variety to already fantastic game. Battletech was my most played game of last year and this expansion has only made it better. I did notice that old non-city maps run with much higher FPS now. The performance on the new city maps is not as good, but the FPS on city maps is still as good as it was in older Battletech versions. My only complaint is that I would like to see Argo interface being tailored more with the career mode in mind. Right now it is a derivative from the single-player campaign. 9/10.

Love this game, gets better with each expansion. I will say that the content that you get for $20 is a tad overpriced. If you love Battletech already, then dive in. If you are new to it, then I recommend you buy the base game and wait for a sale for the expansions. The campaign is not really affected by any of the expansions besides the new mechs. Either way, I love this game. It is one of few games where I will pay full price upon release, simply to support HBS so they can make more Battletech games. FYI, the urban maps are awesome, but they are really pushing the game engine to its limits. I had to lower graphical settings to get a playable framerate and I am using a GTX 1080ti.

I don't think this expansion adds enough to warrant a 20 dollar price tag.

Another lukewarm dissapointment. I honestly shouldn't be surprised. I don't know why I keep hoping Battletech and Mechwarrior will get something decent. It seems the Fan Made projects are leagues ahead of the AA and AAA studio offerings since the early 2000s. This game *still* has memory management problems. This Expansion doesn't do anything to address it with the free content patch that HBS has given us(good on them for that though! Keep the free stuff coming because that's way better than this paid DLC garbage). This is a mostly light and medium focused Flashpoint 2.0 expansion it appears. I'm not complaining. I like under assault missions because they tend to be the most fun. The Flashpoints for the most part, were great. Except for the poster child Flashpoint. It wasn't fun,it was a boring slog with pilots that weren't mine, that were downright terrible. Having another lance on the field, really evens the odds and shows that we really should have 2 lances at our disposal. You get the Hatchetman 3X. The better version for this game because the 3F was incredibly difficult to use properly due to it's excessive squishiness and the lack of crit slots. If you want a solid mech that can rock em sock em robots this is your new best friend if you can find one. You get the Black Jack BJ-1DB. It's the energy version of ol'reliable. It's decent. A good alternative to the BJ-1. I do think this is a solid all arounder to add to your 45 tonner lance. You get the Javelin 10N and F variants. One is energy heavy, the other is SRM heavy. Both are meh. The lack of XL engines really hurt these lights as they lack the firepower to be really effective flankers late game,or lack space for additonal heat sinks armor or ammo(Yes I'm aware this is pre Clan invasion and post Succession Wars.) You get the Catapult C4 variant. It's a Catapult. Stuff what you got in the arms and go at it. You can't go wrong really with any catapult build. Two more Urbies. An energy one,and the AC20 variant. Not too shabby. I found the AC/20 variant a bit tricky to use,but it's usable. The energy one makes for a decent jumpy scout if you fit for ML and SL. Vindicator AA that you could already make out of the regular Vindicator. Now with less armor and mounting options. But it's faster. With way less armor. Banshee 3S. Another mech that will never be used because it's an obese medium. And odds are by the time you find one,you won't need one, because you're packing a 385 ton lance. And the poster child of the DLC the Raven 1X. Tough to fit,but decent nonetheless. The ECM is a gimmick and I don't like it,but I can see it's uses. It doesn't work like Tabletop, and unlike TT(where it makes it a lot harder to get missile locks on you and the only thing that can get you through ECM is a TAG)it's annoying to use effectively. This is a resounding meh. Buy on sale. Out of the mechs here, the Urbies,Catapult,Hatchetman and obviously Raven were the only good things. But it's not 20$ worth. HBS REALLY needs to get on it with fixing the game to actually run more than an hour or two at a time without significant slowdowns freezes and hangups. Im still spending more time staring at loading screens than I am actually playing the game.

Both this and the previous DLC would've been absolutely fine... at a $10 price tag. All you get is a new biome, 2 new mechs and a couple more short story missions/flashpoints. Not worth $20. Would advise people to wait for either a sale or a re-release as a collection.

Horrible Attack and Defend missions. I've played Battletech for 350+ hrs and I'm good at the game. The new Attack and Defend missions are so unbalanced and ridiculous in their difficulty its not even fun to try. At the very least, you're going to loose a pilot and need to pay a hell of a lot to repair all your mechs. More than likely though, your lance will get obliterated. I'd rather play Iron Man on the hardest difficulty settings that have to go through this new mission type. I can see why the creators thought this would be a good idea but the balancing and spawning of backup lances right on your base's doorstep (2 turns away from range if you're lucky) is a huge mess. A three star difficulty mission of this type goes as follows: Enemy lance 1- 220 tons. Will be spawned within range of your base by turn 2 Enemy lance 2 (their base defense lance)- 250 tons. In between your base and theirs Enemy Turrets - Online from turn one and shooting at you with LRMs by turn 2 Backup lance 1- 220 tons. Due to arrive in 6 turns from start Your base- 2 crappy small buildings, 2 almost crappy medium buildings. One enemy mech taking a a turn will destroy one.... Oh... and to add to the fun. After you defeat their base, you have to reach an extraction point by moving back to your base while getting your rear arc hammered by all the forces you couldn't take out in the precious few turns to accomplish the main objective. People complain about the difficulty of normal games of Battletech. Ha... Try doing suicidal sprints in this mission type. Throw out all the tactics of the 'tactical combat' game and enjoy just having your balls stomped on. Thats what you get with this mission type.

If you already enjoy the base Battletech game, you'll probably enjoy this one as well. The urban biome is fantastic and fun. The ECM stuff definitely changes the game, although at the moment it's probably too strong. The Javelin is nice to use, and early on its a somewhat terrifying enemy in some scenarios. I haven't seen the new vehicles yet but I'm sure I will. The Attack and Defend mode is challenging but doable. And if it gets too hard, you can withdraw without much of a penalty as completing nearly any objective will let you withdraw in good faith. In my opinion, regardless of difficulty, makes that mode pretty good since if you can destroy 4 mechs within 8-10 rounds means you'll always make some money and get some salvage. I haven't completed all the new flashpoints (which are 2+ mission stories with interesting choices and rewards) in this DLC but the ones I have I've enjoyed and I'm sure I'll like the 10 or so included in this DLC. There are some optimization issues and performance issues with the urban biome on my machine, but it's not that bad. The loading times are definitely longer per mission, but once that's done it just stutters from time to time when I destroy a mech. For a turn based tactical game that isn't much to complain about. But since they did an optimization pass for the recent free update it does seem more significant now that the regular missions are smoother. If the cost seems too high for one dlc, you can always wait for a sale or get the season pass which might go on sale again. But this adds some fun stuff, so if you like the normal game this is worth it. Also this dlc was released the same day as the 1.6 free update which added some new stuff which works nicely with the dlc. Also there is a very strange dichotomy regarding the people who enjoy the various mods for this game. Some of them feel like because there are mods which add a large number of mechs and weaspons etc, from various eras of the 30+ year old tabletop game into this game that the DLC sold is never worth it. Yet they still buy the DLC to give it a negative review. I don't really get it as having active development for a game can allow for more expansive mods in the future, and I'd think they'd want that. And with the next DLC I wouldn't be shocked if the devs get some mod support into steam by then because they like mods and modders and have kinda hinted at that.
