  Easily the best danmaku I've played thus far. It's very different from traditional danmaku, where you go through a stage, then fight a boss, in this game, you're always fighting the boss.... And you are the boss as well. You have your wits to react and counter while throwing your own barrage of missiles/bullets/lasers towards the enemy, the screen will fill up as a result of both characters battling it out and the visuals look and feel just right, the soundtrack is also great. You duke it out in a medium-sized arena, trying to dodge your opponents attacks while attacking on your own, you have to pay attention to the projectiles in play while firing off your own to attempt to destroy the enemy, once you hit 0 health, you're defeated (of course.). There's no patterns to memorize here like normal danmakus (Except for the characters abilities, of course) the fights are all dynamic, and it's up to you to keep your wits, pay attention, and try to come out victorious. The movement is solid, the dash mechanic is great (as you dash you'll gain heat, which'll in turn make you take more damage, so only dash when necessary). All of the characters have a pretty decent sized movelist, and you won't see much repetition when fighting opponents, since you have two different bars depending on the attacks you use, have to mix it up, otherwise you'll temporarily run out of ammunition of your ammo type... As well as atleast 4 hypers and an accel hyper per character, which are incredibly powerful offensive/defensive moves which can turn the tide of battle if they hit/give you those last seconds you need to attack. (The accel hyper will consume your entire hyper gauge, you gain this gauge by landing hits on the enemy, 1 hyper ball will let you use any hyper but accel, then accel will consume all 3) The multiplayer is fantastic, the netcode is great and it feels just like playing singleplayer, even facing a friend from a different country. There's a lot to offer here, the arcade is a quick and easy way to practice[spoiler](As well as a way to unlock Star Breaker, and Hime)[/spoiler], and the story is 6 matchups (the 5th and 6th fight are pre-determined, the first fight can be if the character has a full story) to go through.[spoiler](As well as the way to unlock Sumika, the end game boss... you need to complete without using any continues the game on normal with each of the 14 other characters.)[/spoiler] The difficulty feels just about right(on normal), it isn't frustratingly hard, the characters all play pretty much 100% different from eachother, aside from sora and suguri. Absolutely recommend this to anyone, even casuals who would like to get into the genre (though beware, it IS pretty difficult.) And of course, by buying this you get a 100% oj char, Suguri v2. (That's probably what a majority of people are here for.) That said, if you buy this game for the character, PLAY THE GAME! This is an amazing title!

  Pretty fun and probably worthwhile at lower levels. Once you start getting the games in, you begin to realize that this is not at all meant to be a competitive game, and is incredibly broken once actual thought and skill comes into play. I'm not saying you can have fun with it in high levels, I'm saying that it's pretty easy to become disillusioned with the game as a whole once you are aware of the fact that at best, half the cast is completely unusable and all but four are shut down by nath (excluding nath herself). It also doesn't help that these horrible balance changes aren't getting fixed, and never will be. It will just be something to waste more hours in, while the illusion that a "rework" will happen for characters. This game has been out for a few years on steam, nevermind the added years it had off steam. Despite all this, the company doesn't care about this game, and I don't blame them, because making a new game would be better than making this a game where you can invite players of the fgc. As it stands, I wish this game had actual care put into it, but that's not the case here. There are other, better shmup fighters out there, but the rollback netcode this shmup fighter has isn't worth your time.

  As much as I really enjoy the Suguri and Sora universe and love all the characters, music and story, I can't necessarily recommend AoS2. The learning curb for this game is pretty large and the people who still play it regularly have 100's if not 1000's of wins. If you ever find anyone online playing it, chances are they'll wipe the floor with you like you're nothing. I can only really recommend it if you buy it with a buddy so you can atleast fight someone with similar skill and have a fair battle without being stagger abused, stunlocked and hyper'd into oblivion. I'm not a big fan of fighting games nor am I ever that good at them, but I still manage to get some enjoyment out of it once in a while with friends. Worth noting that it is a sequel to Sora in terms of the story, but there's no fleshed out stages, it's just arcade-y fights over and over until you eventually fight the final boss, but with different dialogue and opponents along the way depending on what character you picked (which is pretty normal for arcade games really and in no way a bad thing). Story mode and Arcade is fun for a while until you eventually get good enough at the game that the AI on hard becomes pretty easy. Some of the AI play really weird such as Mira who attempts to stab at you constantly which just leaves them open. So in conclusion, get it if you like the Orange Juice/Suguri/Sora universe and want a little more story, or you like fighting games or both. But I can't say multiplayer will be a good time unless you play with a buddy, or you're willing to pour loads of hours into learning tons of techniques and combos for each character... [strike]Or just get it for the free 100% Orange Juice promo character.[/strike] I do have fun with the game contrary to what my review might look like, but if I would recommend it to someone who hasn't played it, I would have to say no unless they're a fan of Orange_Juice games which I think is fair enough to say.

  Hey kids! Do you know Touhou!? Imagine you were that one Touhou boss you love and you had the power to use her skills and have a fair 1v1 with someone!?? Woahhh... Amazing right!? AoS2 or Acceleration of SUGURI 2 is a 1v1 dueling bullet hell style game or a danmaku like Touhou. Unlike those where you have to fight cannon fodder for 3 minutes straight, AoS2 cuts to the chase and presents the boss right infront of you. The best part about this is that you are also a boss yourself. Of course you cannot make those ridiculous Lunatic patterns as the game would be unbalanced. I definetely recommend this to players who want an all new bullet hell experience. In addition, the art and music is really good.

  [strike]Orange Juice made a good choice to bundle this 100% Orange Juice DLC with a nice little game.[/strike] I must admit I am not fond of fighting games a'la Street Fighter, but OJ must have done something right if I'm having this much fun with this game. In short, this is a hybrid of a 1v1 fighting game and a shmup, where two tiny characters fight in a circular 2D arena dodging each other's bullets, but getting close and personal is also an option. The mechanics keep mindlessly flailing around from being a viable strategy, yet at the same time they also make the fights very fast paced. It's a perfect match for online multiplayer, and Fruitbat Factory did a good job with Steam integration and netcode. Definitely buy it if you want some good multiplayer action [strike]besides the additional 100%OJ character[/strike], and maybe consider the soundtracks if you have more money to spend, cause the OST is pretty cool too.

  This game is cool~ it is hectic and it's bound to keep you on your toes each match, and story mode can be fairly challenging too, not to mention there is net play as well. You also get Suguri 2.0 for 100% Orange Juice so I can't recommend this game enought~ [spoiler] How to play: Spam Tsih's rocks and rekt[/spoiler]

  I've played a few fighting games, and my least faviorite players are the ones who spam projectiles non-stop. If you're like me, a shmup-fighting game sounds like the opposite of fun, right? Well, as the thumbs up at the top indecates, no. For starters, every attack consumes some of one of your ammunition gages. If you use one attack repeatedly, you'll run out of ammo and can't use that kind of attack for a moment, something I feel needs to be in more fighting games to prevent that kind of obnoxious behavior. There is also a dash mechanic that makes you move very fast and allows you to pass through certain attacks or avoid the ones you can't at the cost of increasing your heat. More heat means you take more damage. The game is made in such a way that every action costs something, you have to play smart; not rely on the same moves or strategies constanty. And despite all the shooting, most characters have melee attacks that can be comboed (Or chained if your playing as Hime) with the ranged attacks, making it feel like a real fighting game with it's own setups, combos, strategies, matchups, ect. There will always be spammers in any fighting game, but if you're worried about the game feeling spammy or brainless, worry not. With a little practice, you can easily beat those people and get the same satisfaction as a regualr fighting game It also comes with a 100% Orange Juice character. She's fun and dynamic, despite being a passive based character.
