  I'm giving this game a thumbs up because technically it does what it sets out to do. It's gameplay style is very similar (almost exact) to Cities: Skylines so if you really enjoyed that game but wanted to see it done in a medieval style then this game is DEFINITELY for you. It's price is a bit high in my own personal opinion. It IS an early access game so it's almost just a demo and yet they asking for a bit too much. It IS unfinished and it's missing some stuff. It's all rather nice in an overall kind of way but its also clear that its unfinished. Like some sounds (most sounds) are just missing. There are some great attention to detail stuff here but then there are places where it's laughably pathetic in terms of graphics and attention to detail. But honestly its just another city building simulation game in the same style as cities: skylines. I give it a thumbs up because its not a bad little game. I just think its asking for a bit much so I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting this when its on discount. Thanks so much for reading.   Considering being in Early Access .... Pros * The game has high potential in terms of scale. It runs very smoothly. * Very easy to get into * Generally, Interface provides an easy access to overall information (daily net income, village attractiveness, ..etc) Cons: * Below-average aesthetics. Colors feel washed out making the game looks a bit dull. * Quality of life issues when placing some buildings. There is no place multiple of same building (Fire station, Tailor, .. etc). * No strategic placement of homes/workplaces. As long as there is enough workforce, workplaces will be 100% productive. * Overall, the game mechanics feel a bit shallow. It's a repetition of slow progress cycles of Get more people -> ensure production is enough -> Repeat

  New Home: Medieval Village is a charming, attractive, Banished-esque city builder. Since this game is in Early Access, anything written in this review is subject to change. Good: -Impressive, mellow soundtrack -Relaxing setting -Simple but thorough tutorial -Build model look good, seem varied enough Could use improvement: -The interface. I assume most of this will be fixed in future updates. ---Escape button closes some menus but not others ---Can't rotate buildings with mouse, only keyboard ---For some reason my mouse moves a lot slower in game -Lacking in options like resolution and colorblind mode -Some translation errors, but nothing too bad -Not a lot to do yet. I feel like I did just about everything there is to do in about 3 hours. Looking forward to playing more after the game has received a couple of updates and has more content.

  The Build your house part of the game, was what I thought would set this game apart, the controls are not good and hard to work with, Not my cup of tea, base game was ok the city build part but it is like so many others out there, the build your own house a big let down, getting a refund.

  I really to like this game, and I almost came here to drop a very positive review. First impressions where exceptional, beautiful scenery, good graphics for the game type and a simplistic building theme. That was until I got about 15 minutes in to the game, I had reached the maximum town level (5) and almost maxed out the town attractiveness. 15 minutes in, in a game like this? On medium difficult?? That's a challenge that should take a few IRL gaming sessions to achieve. As you may assume at maximum town level you should have everything unlocked. Correct! So nothing further to draw you into committed game play, apart from growing town wealth and population. (I got to 2,500 population with $3,000,000 before I got bored). i also came across some heavy optimisation issues. Granted I game using a 2060RTX, Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GBRAM, so not the best of systems, but 12 FPS!?!?... On LOW settings, I can play AOE 3 on High and sit at 90FPS. Very disappointed with this game.

  this is EARLY early access. made by a single person. unlike other EA games, there's a very direct and great way to suggest changes and to talk to the creator. this game has so much potential. i wanna tell you to try it for yourself or at least wait for a few days. most of the negative criticism i saw here is outdated a few hours after writing, because this game gets updates A LOT.

  This game isn't a survival colony builder. You build with gold, not resources. You get a big wedge of gold to begin with, and gain more through selling commodities and taxing. Your commodities are there to make people happier, but the system isn't perfect, its very easy to just build and people just don't get that unhappy. You get commodities through various commercial buildings. So this game is for people who like building pretty villages and towns, with less limitations, like survival and resources. So in that way its a sim city. With that in mind the game achives its goals. You can build pretty settlements. The main asset is curvy roads. No other city medieval game has this, until Manor Lords is released. I see alot of people just slapping down modern city blocks, filled with grid style houses and zones. Then complain that they rushed the game and unlocked everything. However my first village, I played slow, used the off grid system to made curvey and un grided zones, like how a medieval village would look, and the game works. I suppose its all down to the imagination of the builder, and their ability to imagine a medieval village and how it would flow with curves and less straight lines. The game at present does need more decorative items, sush as dirt roads, fencing, walling and hedging to really unlock its potential. So if you have had your fill of survival games, and just want to build pretty villages, with just the right amount of management, to actually be fun, and not a grind of stone, wood and iron all the time, maybe this is for you. Plus I see workshop is around the corner, so that will help with adding the decorative items this game needs.

  Played this, refunded it (thank god it was within 2 hour mark) The amount of content in this game is NIL The developer also took it as a personal attack when this was pointed out, so that says something While this is his 1st game and the graphics look cool, Graphics alone cannot carry a game, if they did then every UI artist would be making $$$, clearly not the case The game is TOO heavily priced. If this was just 10$ sure, throw some money for a passionate developer is what i'd say But if you have that much money to spare, there are PLENTY of other city builders out there that deserve your money && are much much cheaper
