NewCity 機能

NewCity from Lone Pine Games is a city builder that celebrates the simulation titles of yesteryear with classic gameplay and a fresh coat of paint.

Build Your City

•You’re the Mayor; you lead your city with impunity. There are no councilmembers here—every decision, every victory, every setback…it all comes down to you. Build from the ground up, from a rural town to metropolitan jewel, and call every shot along the way.

Learn Their Names

•Track individual people and businesses. Peek into the lives of your citizens and follow them through their daily routines. See where they work, play, and sleep. Big Brother Mayor is watching. And hopefully, you’re benevolent.

Plan For Traffic

•Upgrade roads and plan highway networks. Carefully place your city’s roads to create the circulatory system that keeps it humming. Make sure to leave room for upgrades once your citizens outgrow the humble two-lane road…

Parks, Museums, and Schools

•Create a livable city for that sweet, sweet tax revenue. Add all the amenities to keep your citizens happy. Word of mouth gets around, and you’ll find your population booming in short order. More citizens mean more money and often more problems in turn.

Balance the Budget

•From careful planning to emergency fixes, there is no Finance Director to delegate. Manage well to keep your city in the black. Sustainable growth is the key. Don’t overextend yourself; the economy can be a fickle beast!

Get the Skyscraper

•Cultivate a towering city center and win world renown. The badge of honor for cities across the globe are towers of steel and glass that reach forth to touch the sky itself. Do your job right, and the skyscraper is yours—along with the renown and prestige it brings.

Design a Unique City

•The building designer tool allows for endless creativity. Set your creativity loose and build the city of your dreams, or recreate the city you live in. The choice is yours. You have every tool at your disposal, mayor. The only limit is your imagination.

Perils Straight From the Headlines

•The only disasters are the ones we make. Tired of UFOs attacking your city? So are we. This isn’t that kind of city builder. Here, the disasters are of our own design. Do you have what it takes to keep your city thriving through an economic recession? Take a Line of Credit from the bank and get to work. But remember—you’ll have to pay it back eventually…

NewCity is a little different than similar titles in the genre: you aren't going to be lord of the trash collectors, or worrying about how to fund your next power generator, or the fact that your water and sewage systems can't handle the growth you have planned. Believe me, when I first fired up the game and saw the player had none of these responsibilities, I did a little bit of head scratching and I wondered exactly how much content the game had and how difficult it was. Well, I say to the skeptic: fear not! Cities: Skylines and SC4 give you total control, including over where your high density RCI will appear and, generally speaking, when. The end result is that those games feel like building a very precise mechanism. If you build out your infrastructure impeccably, you can build a high value city that is unfettered with crippling traffic problems, overflowing landfills, or sewage backlogs. NewCity is a bit different. Sure, you can constrain the maximum density of a zone, but that's it. Density isn't planned, it happens as result of certain conditions being generated within the simulation. The density limit of a given area in your city changes hour by hour, minute by minute. The result is that NewCIty feels a lot more like carefully tending a garden. You can't tell the plants how to grow, but if you water them and fertilize the soil you might just end up with something that flourishes. To help you garden, the game has tons of statistics and several relevant heat maps you can observe, an awesome route query tool, and stellar planning and design tools to help you plot your next move. Be careful, though, because this game requires a lot more fiscal discipline than it may suggest at first! This becomes especially apparent as you progress. The only con worth mentioning right now is that, imo, the music is horrendous. This doesn't matter to me since I like to listen to my own while playing, but it's sort of a bummer because everything else is so stellar. Strongly recommended. You will lose hours of your life to this and go to sleep only to be dreaming about how to improve your downtown.

If you're into City builders you shouldn't miss this one. Pros : * Huge maps !! (with no agent limit) * Very realistic features, way more realistic than other city builders (budget, city growth..) * Abundant, detailed information about your city and citizens * Watching the city grow (very realistic) from a hamlet to a metropolis * Frequent updates Cons : * Eats up RAM like cookies * Some bugs (but still an alpha) * Could include more buildings and more buiding variety (but there's an integrated builder tool). Can't wait for the workshop to be unleashed ; ) EDIT After playing 200+ hours I find the public transportation, city growth, agent behavior and overall UI very good. This is an excellent city builder that brings back the best of SimCity games while adding a lot of detail and features.

    Good

*The aesthetic/design is charming
*Music is lovely, much better than Cities Skylines imo
*The amount of detail in the game is welcome and ambitious
*Neighbouring cities that grow with yours in real time!
*Lots of future potential
Bad

*A few minor bugs (residents going for job interviews at 2am, trucks driving normally but at a speed of 0km per hour, etc.)
*RCI Indicator isn't always accurate and fluctuates wildly even on normal speed
*Some of the information is unclear e.g. the values for the Route Inspector
*Lack of hotkeys
*The game's default FOV is 0, changing the FOV to 90 FOV tanks the performance considerably (fps goes from 60 to 20). As this is a simulaton game, FOV doesn't matter that much and I find 15 FOV is a happy medium of performance and visual appeal, but I know this might be issue to others.
Overall
Recommend & buy!
*Work-in-progress review, will update during Early Access

First off, I won’t be saying ANYTHING about ‘potential’ or ‘possibility’ in my review. This review is the game AS IS. So, is it worth picking up now? Yes, for $20, you can’t go wrong. You can tell by the screenshots you can build massive cities, but even the screenshots don’t really do the game justice. Now if you zoom in to one single building, it looks ridiculously simple, but zoom out and you get a great sense of satisfaction, seeing all the little pieces you built fitting together into something larger and impressive. Building roads is finicky, transit is limited to rail and buses, you can’t really build curved roads so they look chunky, but thank goodness for the ‘travel time tool’ because that will help you find that one piece of one way highway that’s facing the wrong direction, and it’s got workshop support. Despite the flaws, I like it. It’s fun! Tinkering with your city, building highways, seeing your city densify, then zooming out and seeing your work result in a living metropolis. Like I said, for $20, you can’t go wrong.

It's not even finished yet and it's already one of the best games I've ever played. Developers are very smart, responsive, and consistent. They listen to user feedback. Bi-weekly updates with detailed change logs. This game is already amazing, and the developer is absolutely moving in the right direction with each update. Do yourself a favor and buy it. Seriously, I can't recommend it enough.

No updates since Febuary, no main branch updates this year. Will switch to positive once developer updates or communicates.

this is why steam needs to keep 50% of the money made from Early Access games to refund everyone 50% when a developer just abandons or rugpulls a game like this one right here.

Keep in mind I want to enjoy this game and like some features of it. I like that residential, commercial and industrial are each on one button and you cant just go right into building higher densities immidiately. I like it's overall simplicity. However, because I like the game I must criticize it. I understand the game is in alpha but it is hardly playable. Then once you build bigger cities it becomes unplayable. I've played city builders a lot more graphically intensive. It slows to a crawl in more sprawling areas. Placing roads and tracks is very glitchy. Tons of texture glitches above ground roads being placed in tunnels and placement textures not being removed after you placed your road or track. There's very strange rubberbanding with the trains and the UI is very strange and takes a bit over a second to switch views. You can tell this game has lots of spaghetti-coding. The devs need to go back in and overhaul the fundamental systems and optimize a lot of the code. I understand it's in Alpha but I don't recommend buying it yet.

    Jul 2, 2020

As of the 2nd of July, 2020? This game doesn't have enough content to pay £15 for. Potential wise this could definitely be one to watch but potential won't keep you entertained after you drop £15 on what feels like a proof of concept. Pros: Huge map and cities feel much more like a real life scale Matters of taste: A real life city government isn't generally in charge of building a coal power plant like it would be in City Skylines and NewCity reflects that. There is no electricity, water or garbage and the associated pipes and powerlines. You might be for or against that. The visual style is very basic, probably because of how much raw map has to be rendered. I dig it but others might not. Cons: The zoning demand meter seemed to have no bearing on what zones are actually in demand. This could be zones allegedly in demand that aren't built when space is made available. Zone demand that is satiated by 5 squares while the other bar chart never goes down no matter how much you build. Slow pace: considering how expensive things are and how slow money is earn there really should be higher speed options for those of us who don't want to tab out while waiting for money to build up. Music, which to be fair is a matter of taste, is really bad. Many basic features you expect in a city builder just aren't there. Prime examples? Curved roads, pedestrians, non road paths Some random glitches - traffic just phases in and out of existence. Mass transit doesn't seem to function well where it has been implemented. However much RAM you think you need? Double it Feedback on how well your citizens are educated, or traffic levels, or land value? Any form of information required to run the city? All of it is very poorly displayed / given. The vibe of the entire product feels like a proof of concept rather than an actual game, or maybe something that came out 30 years ago (SimCity 2000 could honestly beat this one in some aspects) Don't do what I did and look at the description and think "huh that's my sort of thing" and look at the review and think "huh it says very positive" and impulse buy it. Because 2 hours later you will go back to read the reviews and realise half of them are on the basis of "great potential". I could have spent that money later instead, maybe the dev will get hit by a bus and it will never reach its potential, maybe the dev will take the cash and do a runner (okay that's unlikely, other reviews say hes a decent guy). Buying it now is an un-needed risk because there's nothing to tide you over at the moment and the price isn't due to change when its released properly.

Game is seemingly abandoned after not being updated for more than 10 months. I paid good money for this game. I expect at the very least some word from the developer on what's going on but we can't even have that.
