  Played the earlier browser game versions of this, and this game continues the trend of fun casual strategy and commentary on the nature of war. While it feels a bit bare-bones right now with just a skirmish mode, I think the core gameplay is good and easy to pick up yet with room to master. (Like knowing exactly how big the nuke radius is) Overall it's a nice bit of instant strategy fun, and I eagerly await what the campaign could bring. GLORY TO REDOSIA.

  This game had so much going for it, the dev has went M.I.A. for almost a year, their last post was that they were gonna rush the game out of EA, I find it hard to keep playing the game for longer then 30 min intervals due to lack of updates, it takes the drive to learn/play the game completely out of it. Do I suggest the game in its current state? No, it feels like abandonware at this point and time. Do I suggest it in the future? Maybe, that is if the Dev returns to finish what they started, then yes, if not, I recommend playing the two flash games before making the purchase, if you want to maybe support the dev back into working then go ahead. Update 11/3/20: Seems that recent reviews could be bots, I haven't played the game since around a week since I first posted the review, and since then I haven't got any updates for the game. This is highly suspicious since some reviews have over 20 hours, and some over 100 hours, I find that hard to believe that someone could have over 100 hours into the game that has almost no replay value after with the only content being free mode. Either the devs are giving free copies to accounts they made to boost reviews, or a complete fanboy bought ~15 copies of the game, and left running in the background to add up hours. Either way if it was this, I'm disappointed.

  can't do it. can't give it a thumbs up. I used to play this game on newgrounds (i think. or else somewhere like newgrounds). There's some new features since then, but on net it hasn't gotten better. It's decent. If it were 0.99$ maybe deserving of a thumbs up, but this game just clearly isn't worth this cost. Not certain if improvements are still coming (it looks like the were scheduled to happen a long time ago), if the game gets better I'll change my review. The AI isn't good enough, it gets boring quick. No missions (a well crafted campaign could be a relatively easy way to make this game worth a thumbs up). It's fun for a few hours then never fun again. Negative review aside, there's a lot of promise and I don't regret paying for it if the developer grows and does more.

  Played the hell out of the browser game version of this, super exciting to finally be able to play this on Steam. With a few updates, this could become a real time eater. Long live the Empire of Redosia!

  EDIT (2020/08/10): Changed from" Recommended" to not. Game seems to be abandoned. DO NOT BUY UNTIL ANY UPDATES!!! Edit: Could you fix the "continue last game" loading problem? 前作出现在许多中外小游戏网站上，部队兵力=人数+士气的机制简单易懂却不枯燥，地图又可随机生成，这部小游戏也就凭着高可玩性在我高中记忆里争得了一席之地。 新作作为系列的第三代，在游戏机制上有不少创新，尤其是每回合行动结束后的开销处理让我有时候甚至产生一种在玩超简易版《全面战争》内政的错觉。兵种现在分为步兵和炮兵，部队数量不再有99人口的上限。财政收入会根据领土内的不同城镇与土地类型来决定。地形也会对行军范围有所影响。战斗系统中有趣的一点创新是加入了核武器的选项，在有炮兵单位的情况下，一个阵营可以发射至多两颗核武器，核武器会抹平以原爆点为中心的一定范围内（没测量具体几格）所有部队以及城镇，并将爆炸区地形变为废土地形，视觉冲击力还算不错。 不足之处在于，完成游戏的学习周期后，可玩性会因为单机难度的降低而降低，多人模式本可以弥补这一点，却迟迟未发布。所以各位观望的玩家们还是建议你们等打折或者大的更新后再考虑入手。总而言之，作为排位排队时的消遣还算不错！

  UPDATE: The game seems to be dead. No developments, no news from the dev, no reason to buy this game. Originally I gave it the thumbs up, but at this point I have to say STAY AWAY unless you get it for <$2 -- it lacks depth and as a result gets old fast.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I'm going to recommend this game, but I believe there needs to be more depth to it before I can say it is truly worth the price. $10 isn't much, but the game doesn't seem to have a ton behind it. I'll expand on that more later.For the devs that are reading this -- I enjoy your game, I find it fun and look forward to seeing what you add. Please consider adding air units, more depth to diplomacy (mutual defense pacts, for example), more to the in game economy, and maybe a way to skip your opponents turns (if this exists I apologize, I'm still new). Sometimes I feel like the AI makes moves that put it in peril, but again my exposure to the game is currently limited. I'll come back with more ideas after I've played some more, but I think you have a good foundation in place.For the potential buyers -- there are only 2 units in the game. Infantry and artillery. There isn't much more to the game but a very basic 'economy' and telling your troops where to go. By all accounts the developers are open to suggestions, and actively seeking to improve the game. One thing that struck me is the grammar is a little off, and while the art styling is cool... it seems like there is just one catchall graphic they use to communicate in game info to you. I'd recommend waiting until Hex Empire 3 is on sale, but at the same time I hope that people buying it at full price (like me) will give them the funds they needs to continue improving upon a solid foundation.

  An abandoned, unfinished game. I'd say it would be worth getting for a dollar or two, but not ten. As a huge fan of the original I wanted to give them a chance to do something, anything, to show that this isn't dead but the fact they stopped updating a month after release and it's been 3 years since tells you what you need to know.

  First things first: The game is completely and unambiguously abandoned, to the point that their website is no longer up. Whatever you see is exactly all you're ever going to get. It will never see another bugfix or feature implementation. That said: Even in its current state, it's a fun little turn-based strategy game and I'm happy I bought it. Things I like about it: <*> Quick to play a game; can finish in under an hour, easy to play any time. <*> Very simple gameplay, no micromanagement. <*> Has reasonable strategic depth for being so simple. <*> Nicely replayable (random map generator).

  Is the game fun? Yes Is it worth $10 in its current state? No. In its current state, the game is basically the first game with upgraded graphics. While I do enjoy the game from time to time, with the dev MIA I cant recommend it to anybody. Go play the first one, its free.
