  How is this game mostly positive? Did someone pay for these reviews? This game is terrible on so many levels. The DAYZ clone era is over. I dont know who is still playing these games that wouldn't just play Dayz or Scum but stop this is a asset flip trash. DO NOT BUY! this is not worth any amount of money ever!

  R.I.P. H1Z1 Just Survive. 1-15-15 - 10-24-18. Gone but never forgotten. We went on with our lives playing other games. Even tho those games may be a trillion times better than JS. All we wanted was JS to return. JS still remained buried deep within the Earth never to be seen again. Then on February 2,2022 our prayers were answered. H1Z1 Just Survive was Reincarnated into AfterInfection. NOTE: THIS GAME STILL NEEDS A LOT, A LOT OF WORK ! ! This game offers the same feel as our beloved Just Survive. it is in Early Access and it runs smooth. It's not a clunky mess that DayZ is today. Loot, P:VP, raid bases kill zombies. It is all here and for a very very low price. It wont burn a hole in your wallet. So get it! Got it. Good! Lets make some more of those sweet Zombie Apocalypse memories. <3

  I think this game has potential BUT this game is truly in EARLY ACCESS. If you're looking to play this thinking it's similar to H1Z1 or DayZ, it is. Just the downfall is that it still needs a huge amount of work on it to grow. There isn't much content. There's also not enough players to really dictate how well this early access will go. You can play a few hours and you'll run out of things to do. Huge potential though, just needs some work before releasing.

  The best description is "Poor man's Dayz". The good part is it runs smooth on highest settings at least for me. The map is small so don't be thinking Dayz 64km square type thing or Scum size etc. The map has very few interesting POI's at this point and most don't have any loot or minimal at best. All of the towns look generic but just in different orders and the interiors are cut and paste as well. Spend a rainy afternoon looking around the map and not much reason to do it again because you don't need to go to a particular spot to get particular loot. Character creation or variety in clothing? The animations are very stiff and unrealistic. This reminds of early xbox or playstation games. The AI is basically brain dead. As soon as you learn to side step and get behind them you can stand there all day and the Zombie can't kill you. You should never die to them unless you pull a whole herd at once. As mentioned above, the loot table does not distribute loot appropriately. You can find all the best loot in the game just sitting on the kitchen tables in most houses. NVG's, M4's, large military bag, heavy military vest, mags, ammo etc all found in houses mostly on tables. Why go to a military base? So there is no progression to the game. If you've found the Katana, congratulations!, you've won the game. No need to ever use ammo again unless of course you need to kill the boss. Sidestep, stand behind and kill to your hearts content. Maybe even have a snack first while the zombie swings away at air. No vehicles. This may be a good thing as the map will seem pretty small if vehicles are added. There is no skill progression, in fact there is no progression to the game and the base building is very basic. There are no traders and no economy. There are no AI bandits to fight. Why would I build a base? Zombies don't attack me if I don't go near them. The only difficult AI is the Boss and only because you need a ton of ammo to kill him not because he is actually difficult. As I said above, there is no reason to even fight him. I could go on but what's the point. I'm not trying to be mean I'm just being honest. This game feels more like a tech demo then a real game. If you are going to put out another "Dayz genre" game, you should start with having what everyone else has and then add your own hook to the game. This is just same old same old but missing a lot of the important same old. It cost me 4 or 5 bucks for an afternoons entertainment so whatever. If it had cost more I would have refunded it. I hope it gets fleshed out over time but this is years away from being a game I could sink hundreds of hours in which is what these open world survival games are all about.

  So far i have selected not to recommend this game because i want to give an overview to specific players. Some early access games are at an enjoyable playable state, this is NOT in that category yet. This game is a true EARLY ACCESS, If you are looking for something to jump straight into and play i advise NOT paying for this game yet as you are going to be very disappointed if you do. It has some good mechanics implemented already, but they NEED huge tweaking, an example is Melee in its current state is very clumsy, hitboxes seem to be hit and miss and sometimes they just simply do not work at all. Also a very noticeable delay, click, wait a good second and then you'll swing whatever your holding. Add clumsy melee with a zombie that doesn't have a hit box and your dead, if you cant even damage them at all what can you do.. To cut down on writing paragraphs about my experiences with this game in its current state (0.0.3 a1), if you are looking for a game to PLAY then DO NOT buy this game in this current state. However with that said, it shows ALOT of potential, i understand its not an easy task to do what the developers are doing and i hope they are a ambitious team that will use the money from sales in its current state to expand and update frequently and create a hidden gem of a game. If you are optimistic and can spare the low price tag (a meal deal and a half in the UK) then i WOULD advise buying the game, not to play yet but to help the developers deliver us something down the road that many people will fall in love with. Edit: I feel like i may have sounded overly harsh in my review so i just want to say that the game appears to be going in the best direction, it may not be an enjoyable playing experience right now but the developers are defiantly going the right way with the game.

  This game has its ups and down, but overall its pretty solid. If you are not prepared for bugs or an unfinished game, this is not for you. If you however want to support a one man developer, and enjoy this type of genre in a game, you should give it a try. Pros: Decent sized map ( could be bigger) Game runs well ( no crashes or framedrops) Zombies path good. Crafting/ gathering of materials and building works fine. Graphics overall good. Cons: Gets too dark when it's nighttime. Backpack might bug and make some stuff invicible( relog fixed it for me) Zombies only spawn where there are buildings nearby ( would like to see some freeroaming the map) Zombies only have 1 speed, which is fast. Sometimes jumps near small but steep hills, and end up dying. Chickens earrape you ( no joke) This is basically my review for this game after 4 hours. I will spend some more hours and update this review if i encounter any specific kind of annoying bugs and such. Best regards, Veilshak.

  TLDR; Great, support it! First hour of playing - Started picking up everything around. Find out how to craft a simple axe. Looted few cars on the way. Checked map and made my way to the POI. Killed some Zeds on my way and tried to loot 'em. Second hour - Started building a base. Went to the Military base Alpha. Killed a zombie which had an Airdrop Call flare. Started to be more excited. Used it! Killed a lot more Zeds, looted the airdrop and went to the Airport. Third hour - After second succesfull re-connection to the US server (I'm based in EU) I was able to reach the airport. When arrived, saw a guy going pretty close to me. I started asking myself.. Shoot or not shoot. He looked a pretty geared up. I didn't. Just a few seconds later someone started shooting at him. I was hidden and it was getting dark. A lot. Started looting things on the Airport once everything was calm - Had a pretty big ammount of food and water so I was good. When I was near a tent, I saw som dead bodies in between 2 buildings. I stopped right infront of the tent entrance. When I turned and looked inside, there was a guys, pointing an M4 at me. I had a crowbar in hand so I believe he didn't felt endangered. When I stepped back, he went out, so I showed him I'm no threat to him. He agreed and we parted our ways. What a lad! Fourth hour - It's start starting but I want to create a new base. Safe and secure... Pros: This game has so much potential that it could beat the DayZ nowadays.Food, Water, ammo - Everything you need is available ANYWHERE. You do not go through a whole map to find 5 ammo into M4/AK... It is possible to find it anywhere. Small community of players - 0-3 palyers constantly on servers. Negs: Only 3 servers, based out of EU so a HIGH ping is basically normal now. Som Zeds are not reacting to you run, or when you shoot. They just stand there and watch. Yes, they do attack, if you are at their arms reach. And the connection is sometimes so bad you are being disconnected form the server and can't connect back for 30 minutes. Guess tehy are still working on the server side. All together it's well balanced for now. And those few €s I paid are WORTH the game! I dare to say Devs could put a bigger pricetag on it than this. Even twice the price! I like it and would try to support them as much as I can. Devs! If you need any help, let me know. Some texts needs a revision and I got plenty of ideas all the time :) I would suggest to make 1 testing server where you can test out what you changed, to not disturb players. TH server is always up. US and SG servers are down a lot - That is a critical issue.

  Edited on 2/6/2022 So I am just going to go ahead and redo my entire review. Previously it was more of a list of things that needed work and honestly, that list is all checked off. The devs of this game are very active and are fixing anything and everything. It may be simple things but for the past few days the game has been released, everything I find that needed some fixing is fixed the next day I log on. So now I will just give a legit review of the game. There is still much to work on, but for the $5 price tag, it's worth at least trying out and helping out the dev team. My opinion for this game is enjoyable experience. I played both Unturned and DayZ and I feel like Afterinfection is when both games come together. I've only played for a few days with an hour or two at a time each day but each time has been a new and fun experience. Now that the servers have been fixed, I've had my share of entertaining meetings with people on multiplayer. The singleplayer aspect is just as fun if you want to just explore, chill, and build your base. The encounters are always interesting with what you'd expect for a apocalyptic survival open world. First time got gunned down by someone with high grade gear. Next is meeting someone new to the game as well and journey together. Next is meeting a random person who just darts right by us yelling RUN with a conga line of zombies following them. The game is still a work in progress but I see good things coming for this game. From what I understand, the game was accidentally released too early, by a few months if I read that right, but for what it is currently, you'll still have some fun with a dedicated dev team listening to your suggestions and bug reports to help them polish their game.

  My opinion of this game (3 hrs into playing it) is that it's pretty great. You dont get mobbed so hard by zombies that you can't build/harvest and ejoy some down time but when you do want to have a good battle the zombies arent hard to find. For sure more fun with a group of friends than by yourself and well worth the 6$ spent.
