Supraland Crash Features

A new Supraland adventure full of exploration, puzzles and surprises... and way less combat.

Crash is a new full fledged Supraland campaign that you select separately in the main menu of the game. It is not necessary to have finished the base game but we highly recommend it.

Crash estimated playtime: ~7-13h

How does my main game progress/savegame relate to the DLC?

Not at all! The DLC1 campaign is a separate thing. A separate adventure. It continues the plot, but you select it with a different menu button and it uses different new save games.

Do I have to finish the main game to play the DLC?

You don't have to, but you should, because the DLC brings back many mechanics and they won't be tutorialized as deeply as they were in the main game.

Why don't you release the DLC as a standalone game?

- The game is not different enough from base game. It would be more like Supraland 1.5. People would probably not like a 2nd game that is too similar to the first one technologically.

- There could be installment confusion, so after we released a bunch of Supraland stories, people wouldn't know which order the games have.

- The DLC is for advanced players. It's not starting from scratch explaining everything. Standalone would lead to many people playing it without knowing the base game, which would not be a the experience we have in mind.

You have added a time factor to the puzzles unnecessarily, it makes the game uninteresting. I don't want doing task with time limits bc I want havew a fun

Supraland and Supraland Crash are superlative. I absolutely loved the game and DLC and am thoroughly enjoying the squeal (Six Inches Under). I've been gaming since the late 70s, I'm a fan of Metroidvania, I like solving puzzles in games, and super difficult boss fights are not fun for me. If some or all of that matches yourself then you should really give this game a try.

It's not a terrible DLC, but I can't really recommend it. It's fine that you don't have everything from the main game that you spent 20 hours unlocking, but it's not very fun and feels cheap. There's a reason this approach was abandoned in the past. There's some emphasis on timing which I despise, but there's also an overabundance of convoluted puzzles that have to work in *just* the right way which halts the game to a grind on a regular basis and disrupts the gameplay flow. I'm sure it was fun to develop and think through, but it's not very fun to play. Having to constantly adjust your thinking might make for a challenging game, but people play games, especially something like 'Supraland' to enjoy themselves. If I wanted a mental challenge, there are games out there that aren't cute sandbox playdoh guys with wooden swords and stomping sneakers, with more suited mechanics that don't rely on wobbly physics. Don't confuse that for a complaint about it being too hard, it's just a tad too different from the main game, and it's a difference that I find inappropriate. In summary, the DLC works fine, it's just too different from the main game in terms of gameplay flow and use of mechanics to be an expansion, when it should've maybe have been its own stand alone mini game.

I read the reviews about this DLC and decided not to get it because supposedly it isn't as good as the main game. Let me tell you, ITS STILL GOOD. Everything I loved about the original game transferred over and after playing 6 Inches Under I was way glad that I got the references. Trust me, it was worth every penny, and looking back I would have payed twice the amount.

Buzzkill inside. You might enjoy this if you like timed parkour, but I don't. There are already plenty of timers in the game, yet those were not annoying: Very short, they simply indicate a puzzle, prompting you to find an indirect way to reach a door. In Crash however, there are races. You need to prepare the terrain across the map, setup your tools between the start and finish lines, then run and jump with dexterity all the way to beat some bloke. Lots of backtracking for adjustments... fair enough. Now when your setup is optimal, if you fail any of the many jumps or rope steps during the race, you lose. If you fail early (like on the stomping pad, that reacts correctly 17.64% of the time,) you can watch paint dry until the timer reaches 0 and the opponent comes back. Way too long. If you lose on the finish line, which is disheartening enough, you run all the way back, resetting your tools along the way. And if you take a break, the way the save system works, you need to run back to the track and reinstall everything. Carpal and mental fatigue, something the game had always avoided until then. Unfortunately, the races are mandatory bottlenecks. Meanwhile, due to the DLC's structure, I'm stuck in a zone where every other doable puzzle has been done, with no access to the puzzles I had kept for later, in other zones. This deadly combination of 3 factors steadily eroded my entertainment. The 1st race was short enough, the 2nd (with the disobedient stomp pad, actually a 4th factor) is painful, and there could be more races later for all I know. Therefore, giving up on being counter-entertained, I decided to go and play Supraland 2 instead. Best decision I made all week. Too bad, because Crash isn't shabby at all otherwise. The story and the events are amusing, and there are plenty of puzzles. The only (and minor) downgrade is the look of certain areas, due to too many puzzles being tightly and unaesthetically packed into some cramped spaces. I'd recommend if the races were optional, for example with a better balance of scraps rewarded from other puzzles. I don't need the Steam participation trophies, but I lost all interest in the game at only 40% completion, so the thumb has to go down. Timers can ruin any game.

Not worth it. They took out all the parts that made supraland good and just left the chore parts. Exploring is not rewarding at all, to progress you MUST race some dude and collect scrap around the map. While the original game let you explore the map and discover puzzles yourself, here they forgot about that. You have to race or no game progress, also collect scrap or no game progress.

bought this game today, spent a week so excited to spend my weekend playing supraland again. It does not hold up to the base game. It is far more basic, it doesnt have the same feel as the base game, everything seems like a completely different style of game. It doesn't have what the base game has. You are limited in like 4 small areas over and over again. It pains me to write a bad review cause I love the base game. But this dlc was not worth 17 dollars, honestly if I paid 5 dollars for this i wouldn't complain. but that is about the max I would pay to play this dlc. Combat is virtually gone from the first game, the items you receive are in a vastly different order. it has turned into a platformer puzzle game, there are no upgrades to weapons, the story basically doesn't exist, and it is horribly repetitive. You will be going back to the same areas over and over again to gather a couple items. It has basically turned into an item gathering platformer to get to the next stage. I absolutely fell in love with the base game, this dlc is not what supraland is. If this dlc shows what the future of supraland is, then im sad to say I will not be following any of it in the future.

Crash does change a lot of things about the main game, although I don't know if for better or worse. One the one hand they got rid of respawning enemies making each combat encounter only happen once. But they also removed all your combat gear at the start of the game so you are forced to combat them with the worst tools you have. There are more puzzles per square meter which means everything is densly packed with secrets... but it also means its way harder to remember anything specifically because everything is stuck together. I don't know if the puzzles got harder or just more obtuse. A lot of them require waiting for a ball or other object to drop which is really annoying. The platforming doesn't feel good. The main game gives you triple jump early on which offsets alot but now you really feel the floatiness of your jump. Also the game doesn't know what to reward you with, now that combat is gone. So you find skulls now instead (a secondary currency that is barely ever used). Which feels a lot worse. Like right at the starting area is a giant building made out of cardboard which is giant but also empty and contains just 2-3 skulls dotted around. It really is a let down. Also please stop with the plumbuses everywhere. 1 plumbus in the game is a nice reference. Having thousands of the things everywhere even on lego blocks is obnoxious. To conclude: I don't think the DLC is as good as the main game but if you liked the main game it might be good enough still. Its definitely a good junk of "MORE PLS".

Eh, this is a bit of a meh review from me. I've played through at least half {I think} of this DLC and compared to the original game; it lacks not only good story flow but also the momentum to keep the player interested. It has a LOT of puzzles, but few are solvable even a few hours in because you lack most of your equipment. Money is scarce, bones are necessary, and so is scrap. So it turns from a quest to make it to Blue Town to a collectible scrap hunt. All of these are unfortunately necessary to progress the story and you can easily not only skip necessary parts of the story for gear or information, but lock yourself in the process as I am now on my third attempt to make it through the game. That said, the Creator is friendly and active on the forums, but I find myself losing interest in this one instead of trying to bum rush 100%. I believe it is because many of the areas are cycled into a singular area. I can recommend this if you enjoy heavy {and I do mean HEAVY} puzzle solving from the first one but the story is fragmented so terribly that I honestly can't say I am enjoying it. Sorry everyone that does, it's just not a great purchase for me personally.
