Spawned in on beach, saw one other player but didn't interact because I'm 2 seconds into a game. Ran to some cars nearby, checked them for loot but found nothing. Pressed M, brought up map, saw that a poi was nearby. I made my way there, checking another car on the way and finding a pistol, but with no bullets. I gathered some sticks, stones, and bushes from the ground and brought up the crafting menu, crafted a stone knife, then crafted a stone axe. Equipped in my hotbar, and went to poi. Too many zombies to fully explore without being detected, went into one building but found nothing. Left, and went up the road to a town. Found an assault rifle in the first house, but no bullets. Killed a zombie with my axe, went into another couple of buildings and found chocolate bar. Killed another zomb, then opened a door and tried to kill the two zombies standing at the doorway. They didn't come in, but they swatted at me a lot and I shut the door with very low health, and must have bled out because then I collapsed dead. So far so good! It's 6 bucks, early access, and accidentally released early. My expectations are aligned for an indie project from a solo dev / small team. Found a few issues with getting stuck on objects when crouched (have to stand up to get off of a fence, for example) and when the zombies hit me, it made no sound, just flashed red, but that's no problem. Good job dev! I look forward to more adventures, updates and improvements to come!

TLDR; Great, support it! First hour of playing - Started picking up everything around. Find out how to craft a simple axe. Looted few cars on the way. Checked map and made my way to the POI. Killed some Zeds on my way and tried to loot 'em. Second hour - Started building a base. Went to the Military base Alpha. Killed a zombie which had an Airdrop Call flare. Started to be more excited. Used it! Killed a lot more Zeds, looted the airdrop and went to the Airport. Third hour - After second succesfull re-connection to the US server (I'm based in EU) I was able to reach the airport. When arrived, saw a guy going pretty close to me. I started asking myself.. Shoot or not shoot. He looked a pretty geared up. I didn't. Just a few seconds later someone started shooting at him. I was hidden and it was getting dark. A lot. Started looting things on the Airport once everything was calm - Had a pretty big ammount of food and water so I was good. When I was near a tent, I saw som dead bodies in between 2 buildings. I stopped right infront of the tent entrance. When I turned and looked inside, there was a guys, pointing an M4 at me. I had a crowbar in hand so I believe he didn't felt endangered. When I stepped back, he went out, so I showed him I'm no threat to him. He agreed and we parted our ways. What a lad! Fourth hour - It's start starting but I want to create a new base. Safe and secure... Pros: This game has so much potential that it could beat the DayZ nowadays.Food, Water, ammo - Everything you need is available ANYWHERE. You do not go through a whole map to find 5 ammo into M4/AK... It is possible to find it anywhere. Small community of players - 0-3 palyers constantly on servers. Negs: Only 3 servers, based out of EU so a HIGH ping is basically normal now. Som Zeds are not reacting to you run, or when you shoot. They just stand there and watch. Yes, they do attack, if you are at their arms reach. And the connection is sometimes so bad you are being disconnected form the server and can't connect back for 30 minutes. Guess tehy are still working on the server side. All together it's well balanced for now. And those few €s I paid are WORTH the game! I dare to say Devs could put a bigger pricetag on it than this. Even twice the price! I like it and would try to support them as much as I can. Devs! If you need any help, let me know. Some texts needs a revision and I got plenty of ideas all the time :) I would suggest to make 1 testing server where you can test out what you changed, to not disturb players. TH server is always up. US and SG servers are down a lot - That is a critical issue.

Edited on 2/6/2022 So I am just going to go ahead and redo my entire review. Previously it was more of a list of things that needed work and honestly, that list is all checked off. The devs of this game are very active and are fixing anything and everything. It may be simple things but for the past few days the game has been released, everything I find that needed some fixing is fixed the next day I log on. So now I will just give a legit review of the game. There is still much to work on, but for the $5 price tag, it's worth at least trying out and helping out the dev team. My opinion for this game is enjoyable experience. I played both Unturned and DayZ and I feel like Afterinfection is when both games come together. I've only played for a few days with an hour or two at a time each day but each time has been a new and fun experience. Now that the servers have been fixed, I've had my share of entertaining meetings with people on multiplayer. The singleplayer aspect is just as fun if you want to just explore, chill, and build your base. The encounters are always interesting with what you'd expect for a apocalyptic survival open world. First time got gunned down by someone with high grade gear. Next is meeting someone new to the game as well and journey together. Next is meeting a random person who just darts right by us yelling RUN with a conga line of zombies following them. The game is still a work in progress but I see good things coming for this game. From what I understand, the game was accidentally released too early, by a few months if I read that right, but for what it is currently, you'll still have some fun with a dedicated dev team listening to your suggestions and bug reports to help them polish their game.

The developer of this is game is listening to the comments made and updating regularly - it is still in very early development and I can see a potentially great game in this. 9th Feb 22 - I'v been playing in Single Player mode, and I have had to restart, but that's only because the developer in continually updating, I still like this game. 24th Feb 22 - I'm really enjoying seeing all the new stuff, and updates to the game.

I had recommended this game until I saw another game Broken Betrayal that has almost the exact same asset packs. I like the game but I can't deny that it's an asset flip. Now whether they can turn it around or not to be something original remains to be seen. Something about this just seems fishy. They say they released the game two weeks too early but "fixed" a bunch of stuff through updates to fix it. I've seen this before though. People release a half finished game knowingly and keep some stuff hidden away. They then add them back in a little at a time to make it seem like quality updates. Anyhow, I originally gave this a good review and it is decent for 5.99 but there are far better games you can get for that price......especially on sale.

First off, this game is very early access so expect bugs. This game is trying to be like a DayZ type of game, but it's more like Rust Legacy days. Most servers have only a handful of people on them. I've played this game for 14 hours now and I have seen only one other person, and this was me staying in the airport and military bases for awhile to see if anyone would show up. You can find plenty of food and water in this game and you can also find some nv goggles and a bag as well pretty quickly. The guns you can find pretty fast, but the bullets sometimes takes a bit to find, especially early start of the game. The zombies are only in the "towns" or points of interest like the wrecked airplane outside the airport. You can't sneak up behind them to knife them because they have some kind of third eye in their head that alerts them of you. Some zombies take one shot to kill, but there was one that took 2 shotgun hits to the head to take down. The gun play is pretty decent for this game. The only pet peeve I have is with the M4A1. You can choose firemodes on those guns, but even if you pick the single shot mode, the gun still fires 2 bullets and the recoil on that gun is horrid. The shotgun has almost no recoil. The first and third person views are great. I don't like how my arms aren't attached to my body when I'm in first person mode. The building aspect of the game is very much identical to Rust building, just this game you don't need a supply cabinet stocked with resources to keep your base from decaying. There isn't much to build at the moment as well, but being early access makes plenty of sense for this. As far as I'm aware, there is not a repair station in the game yet, so some of the items that need repaired cannot be right now. Some bugs that I've had are the airdrops "lagging" from the sky. Sometimes when you unequip your gun and than re-equip it, the gun will be stuck upwards until you holster it again. The cows and chickens are broken as well. I just now came across both and cow and chicken and boy they need some work. The chicken took a full clip of the handgun to kill and the cow took almost 5 shotgun shells to take down. For some reason you cannot butcher the animals yet. When you walk up to them it says to butcher them, but when you interact with them nothing happens. I thought maybe I needed a knife or ax equipped for that, but neither of those worked either. The only other thing that bothers me is that no matter what ax you have, you get the same amount of wood when you chop a tree. I was hoping that the fire ax would give me a little bit more wood each swing than the makeshift stone one. Overall this game is great, especially for that low price. There are bugs, but nothing game breaking at the moment. Not a lot of active people are on, or at least on when I log in. If you want a cheap Rust alternative to just kill zombies and maybe hunt down some players, you should get this game.

I have more then a few words, But to keep it short and sweet this game is great and has great potential. Overall I'd give this game a 7/10 [i]especially for only having to pay like $5! :D Now we'll move into the long part of this review. The way durability is set up is great, you can see how many hits you have left on most items, just like you would on ark or rust. Building and crafting is simple but still fun, and the inventory system is like Day Z but much less complex. Coming from Day Z on console, This game is a super impressive upgrade compared to that version of the game. It combines Rust and Day Z together and a little bit of Ark Building to make itself stand out. Pros: -Simple and Mostly easy to learn/pickup right off the bat -Crafting is pretty clear and easy to do -Inventory mechanics are much simpler then any game I've played in this category -Displays a clear list of controls before you load into the game NOTE: REMEMBER that this game is still in early access lol Cons: -Everything is quite easy to obtain so far -There is not an extreme variety of items you can craft (yet) -Zombies spawn in medium sized clusters, and then basically no where else that isn't a pre-made building [i]-I still don't know how to refill my water canteen LOL Suggestions: -Perhaps add 'Hot Spot' Areas where zombies spawn much faster and drop more stuff (regardless of value) to encourage PvP -Add more items to craft -Please make it so you can upgrade doors/locks just like all of the other structures. -Add weather similar to what is in ARK -Add dogs/cats or anymore animals in general Anyways thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy the game if you're thinking of purchasing... I'd say go for it!

R.I.P. H1Z1 Just Survive. 1-15-15 - 10-24-18. Gone but never forgotten. We went on with our lives playing other games. Even tho those games may be a trillion times better than JS. All we wanted was JS to return. JS still remained buried deep within the Earth never to be seen again. Then on February 2,2022 our prayers were answered. H1Z1 Just Survive was Reincarnated into AfterInfection. NOTE: THIS GAME STILL NEEDS A LOT, A LOT OF WORK ! ! This game offers the same feel as our beloved Just Survive. it is in Early Access and it runs smooth. It's not a clunky mess that DayZ is today. Loot, P:VP, raid bases kill zombies. It is all here and for a very very low price. It wont burn a hole in your wallet. So get it! Got it. Good! Lets make some more of those sweet Zombie Apocalypse memories. <3

Well it seems very promising and is already pretty good for what it is. The servers though.... the few official ones won't let you keep your stuff after restarting your game, also for me the ping makes it hard to do anything and the unofficial ones are sadly either weirdly set up or infested with admin abuse, so be aware. Overall tho, if you have a bit of money to spare, it is definitely worth it! I'll be here patiently waiting and looking forward to the future :)
