  This is a GREAT task and resource management game that's all about tinkering with the fully customisable cafe setup and programming your little bone minions for production efficient. If you're neurodivergent, it can be overwhelming at times because the entire game has 97 recipes and sometimes cooking minion processes can break even though they appeared to be foolproof during the initial setup. Here's some tips: - The game's really forgiving if you mess up. Using "restart day" will rewind any resources you used. - However, there's no backsies on shop purchases, so click carefully. - If you run out of coins/resources, you don't HAVE to meet the menu complexity requirements for the day. You can do an easy one-recipe day to farm a specific resource, for example. You still get to keep the coins and resources, you just won't get reputation, which is only useful for progressing towards upgrading your restaurant. - Make use of the test kitchen to learn new recipes, but also check the recipe book from the main menu. For more complex recipes, the recipe book may show an ingredient as a bread, while the test kitchen recipe hints will just show flour and water. - Multiple cooking minions using the same chopping board, oven, fryer or griddle is fine. However, it's easy for processes to break if you attempt to have multiple minions using the same device that can accept multiple components, such as mixers and pots. Same goes for counter tops. - You can accidentally snatch ingredients or dishes out minion's hands if you're working too closely with them, so give your kill room (VIP or Very Ingesting Posion area) a bit of space.

  This would get a neutral from me but since steam only allows binary choices I'm leaning not recommend. The main story is fun and good. It's missing a hands-on tutorial on how to use minions/programming. Default controls are very bad (JLKI), zero mouse support on a PC platform.. My biggest gripes are with endgame, test kitchen and challenges. Discovering and recreating recipes is a pain because it only shows the ingredients and tools, not the order. This means that if you have 6 ingredients in 4 machines it will be a guessing game which ingredients need to be cut, mixed, boiled, or combined, and in what order. The UI is totally unhelpful in this regard. Challenges seem like an afterthought. I spent a long time optimizing and testing a challenge, only for it to not save my challenge layout upon next visit. I also constantly found myself having to clean up ghost items and re-placing machines during the programming process. Programming is very rudimentary and has zero QoL features. Instead of being able to say "take item on left and cut it on board to the right" and placing it multiple times, you have to manually redo it for each individual worker. tldr; decent story mode, very poor PC controls, disappointing endgame.

  Great game, so many recipes and different ways to play. The developers are really nice and listen to their community, would recommend this game!

  Bone's Cafe is an experience similar to Overcooked, but also entirely different. You play as Bones, a former (?) necromancer who has dreams of bread and salad, not of corpses and knives. But they cannot escape their former occupation and the cheery cafe experience very quickly takes a darker turn. This game is remarkably complete (for lack of a better word) for being in early access. While I have not progressed too far yet, I have encountered no bugs. I have tested out the co-op option with at least one other person and experienced no gameplay issues, and I look forward to testing with more friends. The music is laid back and chill, and the animations are charming and well done. While there can be some tense moments due to the clock or *ahem* other situations, overall I found the gameplay loop to be surprisingly relaxing. The only negatives I've encountered thus far is that this game is really meant to be played with a controller. The keyboard controls are difficult to get used to and while I found them un-intuitive, I'm honestly not sure that there are better options. I would appreciate the ability to re-bind keyboard controls so players could at least tinker with other options. I am looking forward to continuing to play this game, and to the additions that the developers will make in the future! Overall - it is worth the price and is definitely a game that you should pick up and try!

  I've played thousands of games, collected twice as many... written a number of reviews. I should probably write more... Bone's Cafe is like multiplayer PlateUp! for people who's friends don't play PlateUp!. Sure, you could invite more people to help set up cooking areas and manage kill rooms, but you don't need friends when you've got minions! Would be nice if my friends would get this game though, or if they'd invite me to PlateUp!. I'd take either to be honest. 10/10 for both, can't stop playing either one. This is more a testament to how good the game is then an actual review... Looks cute. Controls great most of the time, - Programming minions over and over is a bit of a pain. If I could set and move a minion's movement flag after the fact, or have programming tie an action to a surface and allow us to move the surface instead of removing and adding a new one, that would be dope. Moving the flag would still allow the control over the angle that a minion would interact from. Just an idea. Overall a decent game for anyone looking to cook and serve customers with Factorio-esque assembly lines to set up and forget about.

  I honestly love this game. If you're into automation, this game gives you enough free range to do so. If you're in to more team building and playing a long with friends, it also gives you room to do that as well. The devs are amazing. They often check in with the community within their discord (you should join), are great with feedback, respond in incredible time to bugs and errors within the game, and just are so welcoming altogether. It has been a joy to be a part of such an enjoyable community and i'm excited to see what more Bone's Cafe has to offer in the future. I hope you all enjoy the game too.

  TLDR; 9/10 A wonderful game with a great concept. Only a few minor frustrations that can easily be fixed. Awesome game. I love the concept and balance seems pretty good for an Early Access game. I loved it so much I had to show my wife. We played though 3 stars in the first sitting. I love the idea of having the extra helpers. So, that's the good stuff, on to how I in my infinite wisdom would improve it. The only real issues I had was with the helpers. First the serving helper. It would be nice to be able to assign them to an area or tables. Maybe take control like you do with the cooks and go up and interact with the tables you want them to serve. I had a "VIP" table and my server kept serving it before I could add the special dressing. Also a toggle on if the server would grab a dish with "special dressing" on it would be good too but that might be going to far. Accidents should happen :) Second, with the cook recording. I had to stop several times from a misclick. In these cases the "ghost" dish was still there and I would have to pick up the fryer and counters before doing it again. I would recommend a button (maybe the same as the summon) that would just reset the recording and remove all the ghost dishes that were placed or interacted with. Roll back your command pattern queue to the start of the recording. Two minor issues that will in no way stop me from playing but does cause some frustration. All around a great game.

  ★★★☆☆ – Mechanics ★★★★☆ – Style ★★★★★ – Music ★★★★★ – Story Pros: I just wrapped up playing this game on my Nintendo Switch, and now I'm reliving the experience on my PC. It's an incredibly charming game with an enthralling storyline. The artwork and humor are particularly noteworthy. It's a unique game that manages to be both entertaining and challenging. The sound effects are delightful, and the music is fantastic. The gameplay is engaging and fast-paced, making it a blast to play. The fun challenges and cooperative gameplay add a nice touch of variety. Although the cooking sounds always make me hungry! Cons: The biggest challenge is getting chefs to follow instructions, especially at higher levels with more complex recipes. Understanding the recipes at higher levels can be challenging. Good Game 💕
