  The DLC in theory is fantastic and exciting. In practice it's buggy and rushed out half baked. Negatives: [list] [*]Can't decorate your cakes (if you care about #hashtags). Dare to use frosting or lightly dust with powdered sugar and instantly your hashtags are wiped out in favour of #sweet #sugar or similar. [*]Can't make your own icing - You can pour colour into white icing and that's all. You can't mix in fruit, can't add flavouring. [*]No sandbox - Yes it is coming weeks after release but this means the DLC released unfinished? [*]Can't take shelves off to pickup all your cakes. You can carry multiple cakes in a pot but once you have lots in, they fall through onto the floor. [*]Can't use the storage drawers because things slide through the back and get lost in the abyss, i've lost countless doughs and baking trays. [*]Can't take dusting off cakes [*]Cakes don't have any visual layers. Make a crust with red velvet cake? cake is entirely pale pink. [*]Piping gun is strange, no clear way to 'reset' it. You can pour colours into it, but you're mixing and mixing over time which develops into a dirty gross colour that never changes. [*]Everything looks so... plain. Pies look like cakes, cookies look like small cakes, bread looks like cake. [/list] Bugs have been repeated and repeated again on the forums and in reviews but some of the common ones that I've had too: [list] [*]Ingredients go missing randomly when using the mixer [*]Flour/sugar doesn't seem to always measure correctly, sometimes I've put 200g in the bowl but 25g goes missing [*]Mixer sometimes becomes non-interactive and you can't attach anything [/list] There's just a huge lack of finish. I believe some devs care about fixing these issues but be prepared to be sent to discord if you have any feedback, where you will be ignored again whilst in an echo chamber of issues. I hope this gets fixed because it could be so much fun. We need to be able to decorate cakes without losing hashtags, make our own icing flavours/colours, make better looking cakes/pies and have difference in appearance. And devs, not all of us want to go to discord our feedback is right here.

  Definitely worth it , it's a new game by itself. Hope there's an option to merge kitchens though even though it'll be laggy.

  This is probably my favourite DLC personally. It comes with a brand new place to make desserts and there are a lot of recipes to make. If you don't want to follow the recipes you can even make your own which is nice. There aren't many bugs I've encountered so far. There is a lot of variety since there are tons of ingredients which can be incorporated into what you are making. Overall, a chill DLC, not really any time limits, so there's plenty of time to bake and decorate. For that, I really recommend this DLC.

  This is cute if you want to pass the time just putting things on cakes and things, but... Be prepared to get annoyed at small details. It's missing a lot of little instructions, which is fine if you're ok with figuring things out on your own. But a lot of little weird "bugs" are in this DLC of the game. Pizza and Career mode are FAR better.

  Item disappearing when you mix them all my work gone yeah that is fun doing all the work for it to just disappear when you put it on the mixer. Trays at the front can't even pick them up so I had to carry one donut at a time to the front what the hell is that shit about.

  Strangely enough, while I can't recommend the base game, this is what Cooking Simulator should have been all about. Yes, it's still a buggy mess and it is disgustingly simple, and yet, it's all about customization, the fun of baking, and the ability to create monstrous inedible cakes, and it's much more user friendly. All you need is the campaign portion and a bunch of easy to figure tutorials. Unlike the Pizza DLC or the main game - Cakes and Cookies delivers an extremely fun cooking experience and I can't recommend it enough.

  No sandbox mode apparantly which is the only mode I like to play since I just wanna be creative and not stress about customers and keeping things up due to limited funds.

  I was and am stoked for this dlc,baking irl is one of my fave hobbies. Mostly this dlc is good but its definitely derpy. Everything you make, cakes,pie,filling ect all turns into a lump of dough. You dont roll out the pie dough and add filling you make a dough ball and pop it into a pan then making filling,which is also just a dough ball and pop it into the same pan and it bakes and what do you get? cake..even though its a pie. Everything just looks like cakes and its pretty lazy! Considering the realism of the original game i expected better. Also, the timer and stove are just numbers and you cant see or set minutes and seconds. you have to keep pushing the button many times to set the times which gets old. the tutorial was also very lacking and doesnt explain key things like how to get more water or other items when you run out. i wish there was more orders and less just derping around making stuff and hoping it sells good. this dlc is way more chill then the normal game which is bad and good. overall i recommend it but i hope they make some changes in the future!
