  I've played 3 alpha builds of this including its Steam NextFest launch. I'm putting this review out here early so people can know a bit what it is like. First off visuals and music are great. The steam page shows that off well enough. Second gameplay. It's honestly great for me, its more arcade racer than things like Trackmania and is far faster paced and faster turning then things like Distance. The physics are solid, controls feel tight and reliable and the speed run community was already very active during its demo's and alpha so I think there will be no complaints there. Finally level design. The developer Axan has outdone himself, not only by creating some amazing levels (again just look at the steam page) but by creating a level editor for others to use. Even during the alpha we had lots of custom tracks being designed and tested out. I've never seen an Indie game launch such a full featured level editor on day 0. Overall this is a great package, but if you want the TL;DR I'll use my wife's words. "It looks like beatsaber but with a car".

  I can finally enjoy Rocket League's amazing aerial mechanics without actually having to play Rocket League.

  This is what I would of Imagined if Rocket league had a singleplayer! - Gameplay is so smooth, - The music is good, - The art style is noice, - You go fast, - Drift The game is a whole vibe!

  YES, BUT... I feel like the developer intended their target audience towards people that are at least somewhat proficient with Rocket League. Especially some of the 2-X levels, a good grasp of aerial car control is essential to beat certain levels, and that's not something that just comes naturally to most, including myself (which is why I reluctantly refunded). If you're Plat 3+ in RL, or if you're willing to put in the work to learn the necessary mechanics, you're gonna have a great time. Its a very solidly built game with a good sound track and some impressive visuals for a solo developer, but it will not be for everyone

  It's been quite some time since I've been emotional writing a review. When I was in the middle of college, things were not going the best. I didn't have money for games, and was burning out of a java-focused cs program. I found Nitronic Rush while exploring gamedev as an alternate career path. It inspired me, and was the reason I put so much time into Rocket League. When the developer announced their sequel, Distance, I immediately backed it on Steam Greenlight. I purchased it on day one. They took a very direction with Distance, however, and I was left feeling like the original concept that Nitronic Rush introduced was left unexplored. Developer Axan Gray, thank you filling this hole in my soul. You have brought to life everything that my imagination had been carrying for the past half decade. I'm almost in tears writing this. To anyone reading this, this game is worth your time as long as you are not photosensitive. It captures every bit of what made that original student project so inspiring to myself and others.

  Snaking is the fastest way to race in this game, by quite a margin, even in straight sections. When I play racing games, I want to go as fast as I can, but I don't enjoy snaking. If you agree with me, you may want to pass on this one. The game is great otherwise. If you enjoy snaking or aren't concerned about going as fast as possible, there's a lot to enjoy here.

  霓虹是赛车的另一个归宿

  在看见游戏的一瞬间我脑海里就浮现了很久之前观看的一部关于霓虹电子世界的电影《创战纪》，其带给我但是的震撼不亚于一个从未接触过3A动作的热爱游戏的玩家第一次游玩《巫师3》或是《荒野大嫖客2》的惊讶和满足，伴随着赛博朋克这个词语随着一众游戏和电影走进玩家的视线中时，我不禁有一次期待起来这样一款充满着霓虹线条的游戏，而本作就是这样的一款以霓虹炫彩为背景，将视觉观感拉满的竞速游戏，但是其实游戏的赛车部分并没有贯彻爽快这一特点，一些陷阱的设置很容易让玩家的爽快戛然而止。 本作带给我的部分感觉和《幽灵行者》十分相似，但是游戏的游玩体验相比下来就差了很多，本作更像是一款披着赛车游戏皮的炫酷音游，游戏的玩法就是在尽可能短的时间内到达终点的跑毒游戏，当然了玩家可以通过背图来弥补自己反应的不足，游戏的音乐很棒，画面很棒，配合上游戏几乎不会间断的漂移加速整体的体验在玩家没有遇见陷阱多的关卡中还是十分不错的 ，游戏还带有关卡编辑器，期待之后大佬们做出的地图。 目前来说定价稍贵，建议喜欢这类风格游戏的玩家半价时购买。 评分7/10

  It's a beautiful game and it runs smoothly. I would describe it as an arcade Trackmania/Rocket League on Steroids. Keep in mind, THIS IS NOT AN EASY GAME. (Or maybe i'm just trash at it) The base game does not have a lot of tracks considering they are under 60 seconds, but the community tracks gives you yet another challenge. I personally find A's hard and it can go to SSS (Three tiers higher) The music syncs with everything which make it even better. Hoping for a multiplayer, kinda like Trackmania, where you have a limited time to do the best run on a map. Maybe this could give another way to earn currency for modifications. Been waiting since I saw it win the 2nd place in OTK show, not disappointed at all. GrEaT sUcCeSs

  This game is very fun, and has an incredible presentation of sound and visuals that will leave you entranced. However This game is hard, and before the "getgud" mentality overrides my point, hear me out. I went into this thinking "Rocket League" when really it's more like "Super Meat Boy". Be prepared to fail and die a LOT when you start playing. The first 4-5 tutorials are pretty easy, but the difficulty spikes CONSIDERABLY after. I went from clearing in 1 go, to dying 20-30 times on just about every new level. A lot of this due to lack of visual clarity because the screen is so very busy. The other is momentum, as a small bump can throw you completely off the map or into an obstacle. Sometimes, the direction you get thrown in (and what does it) can be seemingly random due to the nature of going upside down often and you just have to deal with it. It takes you out of the immersion and can spoil some of the fun this game has to offer. The aerial controls are also unavoidably clunky and jarring whenever they're included in a level. Not a fan of levels that use this control scheme. The game is at its' best when there is no aerials to preform. Overall, while I do recommend this game, I would say you HAVE to go in as patient as possible. It is so easy to get frustrated on this very difficult game, and it does its' best to seemingly ruin your opinion of the game. But take it slow, and you'll enjoy this game when it's all said and done.
